Problem is SADC chairman Mnangagwa applauded him before the election result was announced, clearly he supports Frelimo , how can lawyers of opposition were shot dead no perpetrators were arrested.
It’s sad for a nation with a history of civil war, natural disasters, corruption the winds of change are blowing in Southern Africa.

Nothing is going to change in Mozambique, as we speak legally , frelimo is democratically elected, the courts has validated it . The right to demonstrate is respected but violence demonstration must be condemned and whoever is found on the wrong side of the law must face wrath of it, Mozambique is a constitutional democracy and there's nothing constitutional about violence

Greedy, corrupt politicians rigging elections and expecting the people to forget and move on.

it would not be any different under capitalists either, the communists are capitalists in case you have not come to that understanding. Africans need a system that is neither communists, nor capitalists and that's where the academics need to get off their laurels and come up with a thesis of living that secures their wealth above and under the soil without making the west feel like it's getting shut out because believe it or not, the west is the reason why you're protesting, the winner gets to be dictated to by the west. A page out of China and Japan's books would serve a great deal. We're the same people yet we are greedy, selfish and hateful towards ourselves. Black nation is a ugly world but that can end if we plan and strategize properly.

The real question is: which companies are involved in mining in Mozambique?
The sad and inescapable truth is that those companies must share culpability for the Mozambican crisis which is the result of many years of exploitation of Mozambican workers by those companies.
The most practical solution is for the companies to engage with the country's unions or help Mozambican workers form unions with whom they will engage directly and negotiate fair working conditions involving remuneration, building of decent schools, hospitals, finance to promote entrepreneurship among the youth etc.
Companies must do this directly with their workers and union representatives and not leave things up to the government, that is, if those companies want to be in Mozambique for the long haul.

Why is the world being led to believe that the whole country is in turmoil instead of being specific that violence is seemingly/ primarily in Maputo city not even in the whole Maputo province, cause that's what we're seeing so far.. and no platform is looking into the cause of this increase in poverty and unemployment.. it's not about ideology but the development path that leaders chose like borrowing from "you know who" of which their repayments aren't good for economic growth.. shouldn't a leader fight with their people instead of sitting somewhere safe and instigate their supporters to fight & damage property, what is he going to rule over if things go his way- rubble and dead bodies?.. political challenges deserve political solutions.. leaders listen to their fellowship for direction, not dictate their rule over them.. social dialogue is needed for an inclusive direction that'll take the country foward.. we pray for peace amongst 🇲🇿s 🙏🏾..

@@phineasmasori3540 this comment is an example of what media shows to the world. Mondlane actually tried to join us, but they tried to kill him several times when he was in Mozambican territory, even when he went to SA they tried it twice, and that’s the reason he is in unknown location. The protestors actually told him to keep hiding cause he is our last hope as leader. They have already killed his lawyer and a member of PODEMOS right after the 9th October elections by 25 shots with AK-47, a gun that only FDS and secret services has.

Mozambiquens must keep in mind that with great expectations come even greater disappointments. Give the man Chapo a chance, that opposition leader has probably already moved his family out of the country while those in the country die.

To win power in future opposition party needs to accept the results and ensure there is Peace and calm
This will help them recruit more members and prepare for the next vote
They need to know that even the ruling party they competing with still has some support
Focus should be weakening their competitors more by legal means
And violence or protests don't help opposition parties in Africa
They can learn from other countries like Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania etc
For example in Kenya despite opposition protests every election they have never won polls
And this Mozambique opposition should know that they have a role in governance that is keeping the government in check and preparing to take over at the next poll
Forming coalition governments doesn't help improvement in governance and weakens opposition. The examples are above
It is obvious governing parties underperform and citizens will kick them out of power with proper appeal
So to you opposition. Stop the chaos. It won't help you
