Glycolysis can occur with or without oxygen. In the presence of oxygen, glycolysis is the first stage of cellular respiration. In the absence of oxygen, glycolysis allows cells to make small amounts of ATP through a process of fermentation.
Glycolysis takes place in the cytosol of the cell's cytoplasm. A net of two ATP molecules are produced through glycolysis (two are used during the process and four are produced.

Teach a man glycolysis, he'll know it for a day. Give him a mnemonic acronym and he'll remember for a lifetime - well until exams are finished.

This response might be a little late 😅 but the dihydroxyacetone phosphate is isomerized (using a triosephosphate isomerase) to form another molecule of Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, which can then enter the 6th step of glycolysis.

The depictions in this video are not just offensive, they are dangerous. The gross guy is displayed with dark skin in a hoodie without a face. And he likes big butts. Are you kidding me?! There is no way that the stereotypes displayed in this video were not intentional. What is gross is that people will be using this mnemonic to remember glycolysis while reinforcing these negative, false, dangerous beliefs. It is sad to think that is being taught to people who may very well one day teach or treat black people.
