- In this video I go over all the main common causes of EVAP system problems and go over all the EVAP components, diagnosis, and their locations. How to fix EVAP error code or multiple codes that keep coming back. I also show common test methods for all the parts in a vehicle EVAP system. Includes overview, purge valve test, charcoal canister, vent valve, EVAP leaks and more.

This is by far the best video I have seen explaining the P0441 code. It sounds like my Corolla has the bad valve at the charcoal canister since it is constantly kicking off when I fill up with gas. Thank you for the great video!!
Thank you so much !!! I was able to reset a trac off/ check engine light that I had for months a some monsson floods in vegas. I guess some water got into the canister and messed something up in the system. I did all the steps from the engine all the way to the back of the car and it got cleared...
Awesome video man and thank you very much ! I’m getting a double P0446 code on my 2002 Avalanche. You’ve given me plenty of ammo to go after this problem. I’ll try and remember to report back my findings and hopefully 🙏 fixes !!
this was a great explanation of the EVAP system. Thanks.
Your videos are fantastic.
informative thank you!
2001 Tacoma 2.4l and my purge valve solenoid isn't actuating when i unplug the hose that goes to the charcoal canister. Is this normal???
I made a video how to test the purge valve in Gen 1 Tacoma's here is a video. ruclips.net/video/Qk7se8-7j6s/видео.html
Will a po171 be a vacuum purge solenoid???
Usually, a bad stuck open purge valve causes rich codes. It could cause a lean code if it was stuck open and there was a leak, which would cause an intake air leak. You could block the hose going to the intake and see if the P0171 clears. An Evap code will likely come up, which should clear once it is hooked back up.
I'm dreading getting to the charcoal canister on my RX350.
I’ve replaced most of the parts to code PO446. And 6 gas caps ,all OEM. And still have a code on and off again. Why doesn’t GMC have a recall on this too many people are having this problem?
