    The second movement alone is what makes this one of my favorite sonatas of all time.

    I was lucky to hear him play this in San Francisco in the 60's. The slow movement hypnotized me then, and it does now. To me it is sublime.

    Slow movement played by Richter is impressive. This is Mozart. Very deep

    You guys should try the Andante from the Piano Concerto No. 23. It's similar.

    Une recherche de profondeur qui l’entraîne quelquefois à l’exagération dans des ralentissements de tempo extrêmes (voir la D.894 de Schubert). Certes, il y a du tragique dans les "andante" du jeune Mozart, mais peut-être pas à ce point.
    Quels que soient ses choix, même s’ils apparaissent parfois comme des erreurs, il y a toujours matière à admirer cet immense pianiste que fut Richter.

    I want to know that too.
    I just know that there is a "better" or more intimate, or less "echo" recording of this work on Richter in Hungary CDs.

      @@carmel1629 Richter's performances of this in 1966 that I am aware of were in Salzburg and Moscow. Are you sure this was in Prague? And if so, the exact date? The excellent sound quality makes me think it might be from Salzburg on January 28 or 30, 1966.

    Richter est un immense pianiste mais Mozart n'est pas son meilleur répertoire
