Richter admitted to finding Mozart highly challenging, he felt he was'nt wholly attuned to the musical style and language of the composer. I can only say that he appears to do a splendid job here. Richter of course was his own severest critic.
@@mostresticator5 I guess it's easier to identify 'not attuned' for me. I know that I have enjoyed very much de Larrocha, Uchida, Barenboim, Perrahia, Maria Joao Pires, none of whom strike me as 'not attuned,' even though they are all different.
@@mostresticator5 A pianist with a singer's intuition and compositional ability is the musician you're looking for. No classically trained pianist will have those qualities although all bring some sort of musicality to their cover of Mozart.
I am practicing this piece now, and listened to many recordings and I find Richter the best. He might not be natural Mozart player but profound reading of the music is comparable.
