I have the same feeling as you but my time has almost come. I'm gonna get Wong'd in about 3 weeks when he bring the funk train into my town! I'm sooooo freaking ready for this!
SPOILER ALERT : 4:31 - 7:00 He tells the band how many hits to play through the story adressed to the public ("4 weeks", "6 hundred", "12 people", and so on). Seems obvious when you know it, but it blew my mind when I realized it. Thank you Cory Wong for being yourself!
I don’t know how many times I listened to this before I figured that out and thought myself quite clever for figuring it out before years had passed. 😜
I bought 4 tickets to this show way back thinking I would be in town and ended up being busy, gave the tix to my mom she brought her friends(all 50s and 60s) they said it was the funnest they'd all had in yrs lol. Also.. pretty awesome y'all resurrected the fine line for this Cory I love it!!
I used to think Vulfpeck with Cory was currently the best band on the planet and then I saw this. I still love me some Vulfpeck but I have to say, I'm digging this band even more right now. This band is fire and Cory is lighter fluid fanning the flames. This is the most amazing lo-fi 4th position funk I've ever heard.
Yeah, Vulfpeck has such a solid pocket and I love them. But this shit has so much energy and is just dirt nasty. Hopefully I get a chance to see them once things open back up, because this seems like a killer show.
No kidding. I only found him about a month ago. He's been part of my daily routine ever since. I don't think I'm 10% through his content. I hope I never finish. Even though many are different versions of the same songs, they're each a little different. He is also my "go to" Pandora channel.
Well, your comment is 2 years old at this point so maybe you were right but what stuck out to me was that Cory is so busy with all his various projects that unless there's more than one of him, the Vulf is not always gonna be able to get him.
This cat is hillarious. Love the show. It's like a funk standup routine. The most watchable video on youtube ever. I've watched it twice now to the end. Jeez!
Funk is not dead!Long live Cory Wong and Petar Janjić!Gledam celu svirku četvrti put i pitam se koji mi đavo?Totalno ste me razvalili momci posle svega što sam čuo u životu1Dolazite u Beograd već jednom!
27:15 - That "Late Night" intro followed by the guitar solo is amazing - you can immediately imagine Cory walking onto a stage in a suit ready to do a monologue and introduce tonight's guests...
Please point me to a better rhythm guitar solo in the last decade than the 145 seconds of greatness starting 50:28 in "Frogville" (the live album also names it "Airplane Mode"). 🎸♥️👂So so so good! The song starts at 48:04 and the "Let's show them we went to music school" 😆 precedes the solo.
My mom and I loved this Minneapolis show from start to finish. We always listen to and appreciate you on Jazz 88.5 FM, Twin Cities Jazz radio station. On Thursdays from 9pm-11pm, they always feature you on the Funktion. 😊 We're still in awe from this concert! Pure funk and talent. Thanks Cory!
Cory and Kevin make me proud to be Minnesotan. Kevin is such a beast, go check him out and make him famous too. His bands Nooky Jones and New Sound Underground are sinfully underground and unknown.
One thing i love the most in this band, is they give a spot for everyone. It shows how strong their bond is. That's why they can express truly the joy and happiness thru music.
Tighter than a gnats Khyber in a sandstorm. Such lovely compression on that guitar. Cory was amazing here. What a show. Seeing this guy in Leeds. So stoked.
"You boys come back with blazers...matching blazers, and you can play the Shannon-a-Go-Go for a long long time..." ~Col. Bruce Hampton (RIP) Funkier than a three day old band-aid.
Bleh, I hate that I missed seeing him in Columbus, but I'm oh, so thankful for this video!!! Cory is genius. I look forward to seeing him in May with Vulfpeck 😊😊😊
I love this guy. The hardest working man in guitardom. Funky as a non-POC can be. Positive, joyful and funny. Great crowd relations. Great tone. Great sound engineering.
yo Cory, I am from Serbia :) thank you on free country promotion :) - could you send me a link of that particular Serbian folk song that you used for your degree?
loved every inch of that cory, your band and you're self smashed it from beginning to end, what a band, love you and everyone in Volf and everything xxxxx rob
Imagine, just for a second, Prince coming up on stage to deliver a mad guitar solo to knight Cory Wong .. The future of the MPLS sound is in safe hands.
Cory man your shows are getting better and better. I can’t express how much I appreciate what you’re doing in today’s world of music. Your whole band is incredible and I can’t wait until you guys come play in Oakland County Mi. In the future. Hopefully this summer. You give the Stratocaster a sound of its own. Keep it real brother, only a salesman can make the headway you’ve made.
Can't believe this guy named himself after a Vulfpeck song
What do u mean?
@Réda RaihaniWhooooshhh!!!!!
Réda Raihani are you-
Réda Raihani WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH
@Réda Raihani idk if this is just a really good troll to troll the troll or if you're actually being serious... well played.
This is the greatest show i have ever been to and i wasn’t even there.
You were there in spirit 😉
Third comment and still under-rated.
I have the same feeling as you but my time has almost come. I'm gonna get Wong'd in about 3 weeks when he bring the funk train into my town! I'm sooooo freaking ready for this!
I was there. It was amazing.
Yeah it's pretty great
Hardest working guitarist in the pizza biz
I lost my leg a year ago and haven't been able to stand up and dance on one leg until I discovered the millennial ambassador of smooth Jazz, Cory Wong
7:13 Cory falling down and trying to play Sweet Child o' Mine is exactly me when I try to learn Vulfpeck songs on guitar
That trust fall doe.
that was so unbelievably funny :D:D:D:D
Also Back in black :-)

@@EmilSaks It's pretty cool because if you think, "We got one star on YELP, gee..flat. Because there was no atmosphere.

Blasphemy
But respect all the same
How is it lo-fi?
I saved 15% on my cell phone bills by switching to Spotify for the audio of this show.
binging Cory Wong content on RUclips.... even listening 8 hours a day I'm not sure I can complete the catalogs.

Props to the camera dude, very consistent and good shots throughout the whole performance
Best live mix I have heard in a while. Great sound. Kudos to audio dudes, dudettes.
What a great video. Putting the camera-op on stage like a band-member gives it such a fun to watch.
no joke i watch this concert at least once a week
Petar Janjic is a fookin legend. 'Nuff said.
Absolute animal I come back religiously just to listen to the solo
I'm just a few minutes in and this already deserves an Emmy/Oscar/Webby/Dundie.
Definitely an Espy as well. Those track suits..
And the Dundie for hottest in the office goes too..... Cory Wong!
He already has a smoothie
8 hours in, can confirm
If loving this is Wong, I don’t wanna be right
Oh my god yes please more concert videos
people do not put the respect deserved onto that 45:30 keys/synth solo from K.Gastonguay. absolutely bonkers left/right hand harmony.
Jamming "Killing in the Name" and calling it American Folk music. Top stuff Cory... Absolute tops.
Vulfpeck don't use him enough. Hilarious opening moments.
@Bryan Clarke Absolutely right!

Tighter than a gnats Khyber in a sandstorm. Such lovely compression on that guitar. Cory was amazing here. What a show. Seeing this guy in Leeds. So stoked.
