Sometimes magic happens at a gig. And sometimes, just sometimes, somebody manages to catch that magic in an expertly engineered recording. Both of those things happened on this night. And we’re all a bit richer for it. Thanks guys…
Jonah set this one up for us nicely, ran the show flawlessly, Cory got a great tape, and I spent hours on it mixing and mastering it in post. We all high-five you back!
@@drbracken73 If we could get this put on spotify as a live album I would cry tears of joy. This is one of the best recorded live sets I've ever heard, and it's my favorite band!
I especially love that out of all sounds Woody could've loaded up on that Macbook, he picks a freakin phased out sine wave synth, and makes it sound dope.
This live version of Sky Mall blew me away. Never heard them play it live before and it's just magic. The crowd fast clapping is absolutely electrifying.
Watching this in 2022, it's cool to see the beginnings of greatness here. Clearly they were all great musicians back in 2015, but they've really come a long way since. They've got much slicker and gel much better together now, even though the band has grown bigger. Fascinating to see the journey and progression.

This is the show that turned me on to Vulfpeck. Still criminally under viewed. Jack Strattons vision is pretty much fully formed at this point. Peak Vulf.
What a great mix! I’m local to A2, and I know some of the blind pig sound...this is an epic gig/mix. Plus...Spirit trumps it all...but you captured the spirit so very well, and that Is my compliment.
Thanks man. Jonah ran a tight show, Cory captured a solid multitrack and cams, and I put in some quality idle studio time on the mix and vid. It was a team effort. I had to miss this set because I was up at Shorts setting up for the next night running monitors for them.
incredible! I have the feeling people are going to look back at these guys in 50 years like we look back at bands like the Allman brothers now. I gotta see these boys live sometime man that looks like a good time!
1:17:11 Theo references Teenage Dream... years later we get the Teenage Dream/Disco Ulysses mashup! The Katy Perry/vulf connection is deeper than we think.
sometimes, you get reminded of a story. you dont even. you dont even know what, why the story came to your mind. i was I WAS reminded of a story in the green room. i went to the shakespear company with my father in cleveland. and right before the end of the first act, this actor, he clutched his heart and fell to the ground. the crowd was silent, y’know. and it was a very tense, you could imagine how tense that would be, and a doctor from the crowd, rushed to the stage. and then this voice rang out from the balcony, it said: give him an enema. and you, it was extremely awkward, the doctor of course flustered. he goes into cpr, the crowd hushed again: give him an enema. and the doctor brings out the defibellator, he’s bringin in the big guns. and it rings out: give him an enema. and the doctor freaks, he’s, he turns to her, he says: with all do respect lady. this man just suffered cardia, cardiac arrest, i dont think an enema is gonna help him. and she says: it couldn’t hurt 🤷🏻♀️
I was at this show, bought all of the first four EPs on two white vinyls with no jackets. It was great when Antwaun came on stage. The whole show was great
Thank you guys so much. This is really something else. I only knew of one other SBD of Vulfpeck before this and the video work was no where near this. Absolutely beautiful and great videography too.
Awesome band. Awesome gig. Awesome sound. I know I'm late to the party and my Internet can't keep the sound in sync with the video. Just fabulous. Come to the UK guys!

Read your comment before watching. After watching, I must agree that it is somewhat of a "hidden" gem! :)
Other than Cory Wong in MPLS
It surely was until someone posted "Khruangbin @Best Kept Secret " ;) This is my 40th watch or so.
Amazing grace vulf heaven show
You're so right!
Somewhere in my heart I feel like Woody is the real MVP of Vulfpeck
vulfpeck is one of those bands where the "secret weapon" is everyone in the band
He composes most of their music.

Actually Antwuan's voice has too much upper midrange, the cymbals are not loud enough and the kick drum click is too strident...
David Harper Congrats on your own subjective opinion, you special snowflake ;)
14:45 Joe Dart demonstrating destructive wave interference by moving his body in the exact opposite direction of his head bobbing
Underrated comment lmao
he somehow looks like the most awkward guy while having the best groove
Thank you science side of youtube

I am convinced this is why he needed the sunglasses.

Still my favorite Vulf live show. Absolutely killed it at every single song here, and that cover of December 1963 is heavenly.
To think Mushy Krongold would go on to sell out Madison Square Garden.

That's one thing I'd love about being a pro must. Having the time to do nothing but jam and get tighter and tighter with the band.
4AM... Can't sleep... Finds this in the recommendations... Best night ever.
i like how they teased Animal Spirits at the end. but no one knew... until now
It sounded like maybe Jack was going to play more of it, but the band went for an "on the one".

Richard Tee style

The way they enjoy their music is totally amazing
Excellent quality recording for an excellent quality band.
The greatest non-Motown Michigan-formed band.
Billy strings and his group are awesome too
Last song goes into Animal Spirits!! Crazy how long they had that song up their sleeves!
That "Chic - Good times " bass line in it gets Funkier is freaking GOLD
their drum kit sounds amazing
I am pretty sure that is one of Julian Allen's kits that he loaned to them for the night.
Three stunned guys just with their faces super amazed to what Woody does there.
It's okay, Joe didn't want that water at 25:40 anyway
