  • We've spent the past summer turning our fuel injected 2 Stroke into a true 500cc monster dirt bike, this is how we did it! In this video you'll learn how we were able to remap Kong to get her running sweet with the help of a revolutionary new device for 2 Stroke motorcycles. We've also got suspension and braking upgrades as well. Kong has turned out better than we ever dreamed, thanks for joining us for the ride!
    A big thanks goes out to Brad from Rutherford Racing and David from Two Stroke Performance for helping us get Kong running perfectly. Find out more about the ERM device here: • Two Stroke Performance...

    Absolutely love this bike and would like to add some comments on why this bike works so good. In 1973 I bought a 1973 Husky 250wr. I raced it in a couple of cross country races, but was disappointed when my buddy got a 1974 Husky 250cr and it was faster than my bike. So after talking to the head mechanic at the Husky dealer, they ported it to the cr spec and added a cr pipe. Instant success, which I attribute to the wr having a heavier flywheel. I never raced motocross, but let a friend race it and he pulled 2 holeshots with it. Gearing was 13/48 and start in 3rd gear.
    Your Kong is following a simiiar path, wr transmission with 6 speed gearbox and motocross porting and pipe. Suggest you try the 13/48 gearing and 3rd gear start and keep the heavier flywheel. Oh, and the big secret, I weighed 125 lb. and my friend was about 100 lb. The only negative I see on Kong is the kickstarter is on the wrong side.
    p.s. did you think about letting Billy Bolt try this Husky on a test ride.

      In that case it needs to go up against the fully sorted Megladon with it's custom HGS pipe. I think the TBI 500 might have the edge because of the big bore free flowing throttle body and injector set up, instead of a carb on the 700.

    • @dr.hugog.hackenbush9443
      @dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 Год назад +1

      @@stevenbusk539Either one is merely a delivery device for the fuel. It will have no impact on power. In fact, if you were to ride a properly jetted carb bike back to back with a fuel injected bike, you would be extremely hard pressed to tell them apart, if at all.

    Phenomenal video Max. Lot more understanding into what makes that bike what it is. Have a question that video that came out a while back with the ProRide rasing this bike against a 450, it already had the upgraded fuel injection? Did it already have the upgraded suspension? Are you running VP premixed race fuel? And why can't that 700 be faster than what it is? I don't understand that because it should be a lot faster than the 500. What would it take to get that 700 to its Max potential?

    • @999lazer
      @999lazer  Год назад +1

      Yes in the video with the pro (Tom Grimshaw ) vs his own race bike Kong had the upgraded TBi system and suspension. That was the first ride on the bike with all the upgrades. We're using stock 99 octane pump fuel. The 700 has enormous torque and iarm ripping accleratation, but the gearing is pretty short at the moment so top speed is not has high as the 500's. We'll play with that for next years drag race :)
