Suggestion: Cut out a center strip in the damaged area of the countertop to a little over a quarter of an inch deep and 3 to 4" wide. Add pieces of a narrow decorative tile (3 or 4" width). Seal and grout. It should be a wonderful contrast to the concrete and eliminate totally the damaged area. Should also be a rather easy job using the right preparation and correct tools.
I have tears of joy for you two!! Staying so positive and supporting each other is so lovely to witness! It's great to be young and figure out what is important in life, love good support, and Good food! I truly hope the people of Panama get what is rightly theirs, and that the unrest is over soon. Also, remember nothing is perfect, Wabi Sabi. But YOU made a perfectly good countertop! YOU will love it! You will see the character in your countertop. The Uniqueness! Everything in your home and the build is unique! Absolutely beautiful! Joy Joy
Hi Rodrigo and Freddie. I used to be a plumber and wish I could be there to do all of your plumbing. One point that I mentioned in an earlier video is after gluing joints, when you connect pieces together give them a 1/4 turn to spread the glue and set the joint. You’ll never get a leak again. Freddie is a great addition to your channel and life. ❤
Rodrigo and Freddie - those 'errors' show your handmade love. Just put something there on the counter, an appliance like the air fryer, or perhaps a mat of some sort to cover it. Or maybe it will just grow on you and you will both love the little mistake. Praying for you two and all the animals during this unrest in Panama. Stay safe.
Congratulations on your working kitchen!🙌🙌🙌 I am sorry that Panama is having such unrest but the citizens of your country have a right to express their displeasure with governmental decisions.🤞🤞 Wishing you the best. See you next time👋👋👋
You could put a custom cutting board where the mistake happened, still looks great! Happy Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday! Peace, love and light, all is well!
Freddie, your blessed to have Rodrigo. He's so loving and such a hard worker. Y'all are so precious together. God bless you and keep you safe, as well as the animals.
Because of the situation going on there (protests), y’all really do need to get more serious and start working on a big garden with lots of vegetables to sustain you during hard times. You can do garden beds, or greenhouse gardening, but it should happen soon. Great work on the farm so far.👍😊
Hey guys I’ve got a few suggestions for you. Look for farmers that grow hay. They usually have a lot of cows. Go talk to them. Perhaps the farmer has extra corn to sell you. See if they will sells a little hay to you. Make a list of the things you need. Maybe borrow Jordan and Kaylees truck and go get supplies. Buy extra gas containers . This keeps happening. Good luck.
Glad you got food for the animals. The kitchen looks great guys. Just make a large chopping board to cover the join on the worktop. It will look great! ❤
Yes - matte (sounds like the name Matt). I think the counter issue adds character to the workspace. I am so sorry that your country is having challenges right now. I pray that all will improve and you guys and the animals will be okay. Congratulations on the new stove!!! How exciting!!!!! YAY!!!!!
Plumbing sucks when doing it but is so great when done. I like how well you two work together. Love that you have water!! What is happening in Panama is scary. Freddy is a good sport. I’m glad you are shopping for the stove together. No gas?? Yikes. I worry about you and the animals. Rod, I love your positivity. You two are so darn good together. You sure do have each other!! Happy days!!😊
One washes dishes and one dries. This is perfect time for problem solving and bonding. 45 years of wedded bliss and washing dishes together when kids are sleeping (grandbabies)! Makes you happy and Blessed. Everyday is a Gift From God !!!
Okay guys….I have to say that I kinda like the imperfection on the countertop. My other idea beyond leaving it as is, is to fill it in w an epoxy. I’ve seen some cool things on RUclips using colored epoxy on countertops. You can make it look like stone. I’ll look up the company and come back and edit it in. Good luck and you’re doing great! Mistakes are how you learn. Think of all the people that don’t get started because they don’t know 💯 what they’re doing. If you look at it that way you’re way ahead of the average human! 😊🧐😉😆 The company on RUclips is Stone Coat countertops.
I love your dynamics and the way you both work as a team and the way you love each other! Been a fan since he started his channel, stay strong!!, from Miami Florida
I’m sorry but I have to say one more thing after watching this video, this woman loves you so much and I’m so happy for both of you and wish you all the happiness in the world and future 😊
So very, very happy for both of you!! Love every moment of every video, I’m rather speechless in trying to to share how I feel first your living in Panama during this horrible protest. I’m just so sorry for the people of your country being held without food, gasoline, hay for animals. It’s so very wrong. Can it end soon? Makes me sad and angry. The only happy part is that the two of you are getting through it with your wisdom and positive attitude. Love your sink and stove so much. I also like the idea of filling your little cement oops with decorative tile. It will be stunning! You two are so lovely. God bless you always.
Great perseverance during the difficult time in Panama...amazing progress with the sink, stove, and counter top, etc. Hope things gett better soon....glad the animals have food for about a month and hope the gas stations are working soon. Hang in there Rodman and Freddie lady...you guys make a great team.
Toilet paper - use some rags torn into squares from old shirts or sheets and wash them in the laundry. For goat and cow fodder - use tree hay. Cut leavy branches from various trees and bushes and see which ones they like to eat and feed more of those. If the chickens can free range a larger area they could eat the bugs and grass and should be fine. But you can also feed them some cooked or canned beans and pasta (like elbow macaroni or other short pasta.) Dog food could be stretched a little with some cooked rice and broth and scrambled eggs. The situation in Panama is pretty scary! Stay safe you guys! 🥺
I would talk with your neighbours with the grocery stores, whatever fruits and vegetables are on sale get them if they’re frozen keep them frozen and just put that out every day I grew up on a farm trust me chickens, love, fruits, and vegetables and they’re really really good for them
Am so happy for you Radrigo you and Freddy, she looks like a wonderful person great personality I love 💕 you both, am so excited seeing your hard work taking shape Congrats on your working kitchen 🍷👍
There's something perfect about imperfection. Forget the mistake but the remember the LESSON. The sink looks amazing! Congratulations on your kitchen! Part of the adventure is just getting there! Electric bikes are a very practical solution bc you still have electricity. Also I hope you add beautiful paint color in kitchen and not leave it black.
Congratulations on a beautiful kitchen!!! You and Freddy are such a lovely couple!!!!!!! Stay safe and give each other hugs and thank you's. Love from Canada❤
Can you have underground gas tanks on the farm, or maybe they allow above ground tanks. Have the regular gas trucks deliver gas, when you can get it, and fill the tank up. Of course there will be a 😢problem if you have gas and diesel equipment. Tanks would have to be at edge of property so gas can be delivered. Also be a prep-per and get as much food for you and animals as you can. This takes a lot of money in the beginning but would help during times like this.
Rodrigo and Freddie you are such a beautiful loving couple. Your love and affection for each other shines brightly. You accomplish so much because of that Love. Also that helps in overcoming the craziness going on not only in Panama, hopefully just for a little bit but also in the world. Having a working kitchen is so wonderful can't wait to see the progress made in your next vlog. Have a safe week and be blessed. Ciao!
took a few weeks to form a plan, since a concrete entry is basically an exterior application, we needed a solution that would work with the extreme temperatures in New England, so with some consultation from our fellow stone and concrete experts, we came up with a plan to clear out the existing cracks and fill with terrazzo and gold epoxy binder, grind the concrete to level, polish and coat with a darker surface paint, then polish to a shine. Using the technique the Japanese call kintsugi. Beauty in imperfection.
Hi all, Rod n' Freddie you might like to look into the different forms of food preservation and buy by the box. You can dry bananas, pears, apples almost all fibrous fruits and meats to make jerky. Then you can stock up for emergencies with a sealed pantry. My grandmother did that and I do it too. She canned boxes of fruit she didn't grow. You need a very diverse garden. It's always a good idea. And maybe consider growing your own hay and animal feed. Things are unstable even in the US.
You guys are so adorable! I can’t wait to see your videos! Also, thank you for honestly sharing about what is happening in your country. We are praying for your’s and Freddie’s safety as well as peace for the Panamanian people!
Sending you both prayers!!!! I’ll be sure to watch the news better! I can appreciate the reasoning of the protest but hopefully it resolves soon and y’all can get gas ⛽️ and food for everyone
The new media in the US and Canada have put little/no information out about this situation in Panama. It is sad that the people of Panama are being silenced before the world on a matter that is so important to them. 😢
When you have to struggle to get something done it makes the finished product much more enjoyable and memorable. Great couple you two. Lots of love and warm hugs
Rodrigo Before you go too far on the counter top think about it you made that one why not build another one just measure what space is left and build the form to size slightly smaller. then you can add some joint compound that adheres to the concrete and blends in. or you can build a form on the cabinet frame then when the concrete is cured you can tear off the form and the top is already on the frame so you won't need to move the top just the form.
in my 40 years of DIY I have realized nothing is ever perfect your counter top is great. I did my kitchen floor at 63 last month and counter top and it isn't perfect but I am happy
Rodrigo and Freddie, I'm very happy for your new additions to your kitchen! I'm sorry your country is struggling! Everything will be alright sooner or later! Look, you guys need a bidet in your toilet! That way you don't have to worry so much about toilet paper! Buy that as soon as possible! They are not that expensive! Look into it and you will be happy you invested in one of those! Happy to see your love growing! Freddie is so sweet! We can tell she loves you!
It breaks my heart that you have to deal with everything that is going on there. I will be praying things resolve quickly. I love your kitchen. Thumbs up and love from S. California.
🦋 I was so concerned with making sure that you guys were OK with all the stores and gas stations being closed but I didn’t realize until just now that you made it to 50,000. Yay, congratulations. And a special shout out to everyone who helped get new subscribers as well. It does take a village. Onward and upward to 100,000🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am worried for you guys and pray that the challenges Panama is experiencing ends soon. I am so happy you were able to find food for the animals. I think the counter tops look great. Just put a cutting board over the "Boo Boo". You won't even see the mistake. Love you guys.
You could always chip out your repair work and leave a little channel in the countertop, then fill it with acrylic and pretty stones or other things from your farm to make a pretty art piece.
I’m so sorry y’all are having these issues with the protests. It’s very sad and scary I’m sure. Maybe you could use leaves or dead grass to keep the poor goats warm. I feel so bad for them they already have it rough in those little stalls! I’m praying for these problems to be resolved and life can go back to normal 🙏🙏🙏I love what y’all have accomplished so far and your home is taking great shape! Look forward to more adventures with you and Freddie and all your buddies, the farm animals 😁💗💙🙏🙏🙏
Its a beautiful thing to watch the both of you to bring this house together and making it a home for the both of you. Prayer for everyone going through all these hard times, we can hope and have faith that things get better. Peace and love.
Nice video! Big stow maybe you will have a big family to feed 😉It’s all coming together 😊The walls and ceiling I look forward to seeing happen I hope you have material to build that and the laundry room also❤Grow more veggies since you seem to be plant based in that garden house not only for the protests but saving money 💰 I do miss Jordan and Kaylee as well as the little one they are a lot gone for being farmers but I know you’re there to take care of things but you’re busy building and don’t have hours on end to spend but I hope the calm settles and y’all are back together really soon would be so fun seeing you spend time together and making this farm prosper❤
You could fill that rough patch with some tabletop epoxy. Or for me I would cut a section from the seam back about 18 inches and put in a piece of butcher block. Built in cutting board.
I know what Panama is going through right now as here in Venezuela we’ve had the same problems even though we have Oil. I hope it gets resolved pretty soon. The kitchen is coming together so good. Great job guys. Keep it up. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
Arh guys im so happy you managed to get sink and oven fitted, will make life so much nicer😉 Pleased you got food for your fur babies and im hoping things get back to normal in Panama, Stay Safe!!! Love Rose xxx
Wow! What a nice stove! Love the sink as well. What a great day, you guys completed you kitchen. I had hard wood put into my condo and it was the worse walking around w/o it put down. I was so tired of walking on the subfloor. I live in Alaska and you have wait 72 hours to put the wood flooring down because you have to allow the wood to acclimate to warm temperatures before laying the flooring. But thank God it was completed. I also put a new countertop but I wish I had a concrete countertop like you. Mine was purchased from Lowe’s hardware store. It was easier, I guess that making a concrete countertop but I sure like your concrete countertop better. I guess I could have made my countertops because my floor wasn’t down at the time. Hindsight is always 20/20 I guess.
This was such an awesome video. I feel like there was so much progress in just this one video. So excited for y’all. I love seeing all the progress. Watching you both grow in love and navigating the crazyness in Panama in the middle of building a house is so encouraging. ❤
You’ll have to go through so much right now but you still inspire me to do my thing and your so young and I’m much much older so I’m almost 65 nice to watch your videos
Rodrigo, thanks for the update on the conditions in Panama. I’m not aware of the particular issues but presume it deals with politics. Prepping is so critical. Jordan posted a YT saying they can’t get back. I need to watch that video yet.
Reminder: there should be screwable feet adjustments on the stove to adjust for height and balance. I think the counter top looks good maybe the crack just gives it rustic charm. So happy for you guys take care ❤
You guys are sooo sweet! Rodrigo, you are a beautiful soul, and I’m so glad you now have a wonderful partner to share this life experience with! ❤️❤️❤️
You guys are amazing! The “boo boo” on the counter just shows it was hand made and as long as it still covers your needs you should be proud of it! If we wanted things to be perfect we would hire professionals for everything but YOU BUILT THAT and it shows, it has character, it has love and hard work. Embrace it! Keep it up you two! I’m so happy you got food for the animals and I hope soon things will calm down in Panama, we are all happy you have each other ❤
You did a great job installing the sink and the propane stove. Didn’t see you do the leak test on the propane line’s so please get a spray bottle with soapy water and leak test all your gas line connections with it. They will of course bubble if they are leaking and you can tighten them and test again. Doesn’t hurt to check occasionally anyhow.
You two are delightful! I'll be moving to Ecuador soon, but heard from some other ex-pats about the problems in Panama, so wanted to watch your channel. Wonderful. Wishing you the best.
Rodrigo, can I suggest you use a food grade oil like coconut oil. Warm pore and immediately move around so you can polish.oh no you sealed it okay don’t bother with oil.
The broken part of the counter top might be a great opportunity to try a type of Kintsugi, where you highlight the imperfection using different colours/materials.
The whole at the back of the sink is not just to prevent overflow, it also provides a way for the air in the pipes to get out and the water to go down. I pray that things get better for you and all the people of Panama.
Great idea bet would look great!
Great idea. They could use some grey slate coloured mozaics. With grey grout.
Came here to suggest similarly 🎉
Bad idea because the steel, reinforcement will then be removed or too close to the surface and will rust from moisture.
Genius
Freddy is such a wonderful addition to the farm. Well done Rodrigo.
Freddy is godsend, and such beauty inside out. ❤
I dont know about your oragin but Freddie was pro killing American. I am waiting for her words
I’m so happy that Rodrigo has Freddy in his life during this crisis. They are low key still having fun while they navigate together.
I have tears of joy for you two!! Staying so positive and supporting each other is so lovely to witness! Great advice, I will remember the twist to spread the adhesive!
Mix some epoxy resin and tint it grey to fill in the counter top crack area!

Yeah, grow something that you know is easy, something that the bugs don’t ravage. I like tomatoes growing in Nov, but I’m in the tropical zone.
Maybe grow potatoes and make vodka you can use as petrol for your car.
Hello from Vermont!! I follow you and Sadie's parents..don't put yourself in harm's way!!! Scary world 😢
Rodrigo, Freddie, you two need to build a base for your stove to sit on. You don't want your burners below your counter level. Love your kitchen.
Hey guys I’ve got a few suggestions for you. Look for farmers that grow hay. They usually have a lot of cows. Go talk to them. Perhaps the farmer has extra corn to sell you.
I love your screw up!!! It looks so Greek, so Athens!
Good for you two, this video touched my heart, Bless you and Lola's Farm.
When you cannot fix a mistake you must fix your mindset. Your counter doesn’t have a blemish, it has character 😂
I think the crack looks cool it gives the counter character ❤
Amen. Thankfully you for putting my feeling in words now I’m crying 😅
Rodrigo fill all the holes you’ve done for the drain and all stuff with silicon or bugs will enter the house .. 😮
God bless you. Im praying for you. Love you❤
Rodrigo, i have a suggestion, you should make a wood frame base to elevate the stove a be leveled with the counters.
Everything is looking great. You are doing a great job. Buy a couple extra gas containers to keep on hand.
Word of advice, never thread metal pipes or fittings into plastic they can expand and crack a PVC fitting..
😊Freddy is a great help to you ,and you have worked so hard on your home and it looks really lovely
You should have gotten the air fryer too!! They are awesome! Great job this week! Hopefully peace is restored soon and you can get gas and food. ❤
You two are a power team.. I don’t know where you found her but she is a keeper.. ❤
So happy you now have a functional kitchen. 🎉
It’s horrible what you all are going through I hope things get better over there. Just take care don’t give up.
Yes, you can add glitter or other decorative elements and epoxy that space. What you have created is beautiful!
Sending you and everyone in Panama blessings for peace, equality, joy and love.❤️🙏. Thank you for sharing your lives with us❤️💜😍
Freddie is amazing ❤
You are a lucky man
❤TY for the VIDEO 😊 PEACE
You both are sooooooo refreshing!!!! ❤
