@@tomconcitis9322 Absolutely! It's actually ideal to have a dry heat source, such as a wood stove, for very wet climates. It helps with moisture buildup and to prevent mold and mildew from growing. Seasoning wood is just part of the tasks that goes along with having a wood stove and yes, that takes time but once you get into the routine of it, the long term results are extremely beneficial and worth it. Plus, once that routine is established and as long as you keep up with the cycle, you'll have your ready to burn wood pile to use, while your next bunch of wood is being seasoned. And if they put the wood stove in the shed, where their old kitchen was, and keep the wood in there to season, it will dry faster from the dry heat of the stove. Obviously, burning wet wood is not ideal and is less efficient but in a pinch, it will get the job done so that they can still cook and dry their laundry. So even if they just used it for emergency situations as a backup, at least they would have it to fall back on. Also, if they didn't want to deal with the process of seasoning wood or burn wet wood in emergencies, they could get a pellet stove. Provided they have access to pellets to buy. I baked cookies over a campfire by using two cast iron frying pans...one inverted atop the other to create a dutch oven. You are both incredible. Rodrigo, I am convinced now there is nothing you can't do...architect, engineer, plumber, carpenter, artist....you do it all....and beautifully!
i love to watch the interaction between you and Freddie, you two are so sweet together. I can see you both work very hard to get your house completed but you may need to put that aside for a little while to take care of immediate needs. So to prepare for future hard times, build yourself a covered cooking station outdoors to enable you to cook with wood and use Jordan's and Kaley's pizza oven to bake breads, casseroles, etc.
The reason that we serve turkey at Thanksgiving is because it is the cheapest way to feed a large number of people. The point of Thanksgiving is to spend time with loved ones and be thankful. ... Also, to eat a big meal until you are absolutely stuffed!!!... So you got the most important part included in your Thanksgiving. Great job!!!
Creativity always kicks in during hard times. If you decide to install a wood stove for heating, it can always be used to cook on as long as the top is big enough to hold a pan or kettle.
How romantic! ❤ you'll remember this Thanksgiving for a very long time. You have a lot to be thankful for...you found each other in the middle of all the chaos.
Happy Thanksgiving, and its not about the foods you eat its about being grateful for your blessings and all the people you love in your life. Many blessings to Panama and all the people of the world suffering.
Love the new bathroom sink counter top you did an awesome job on it. Paint the metal hanger bracket that you used to fasten your wooden shelf on the same color as the walls of the bathroom or use the same wood to make a fastener bracket instead of the metal bracket. The little spots in the wood that you mentioned , we can them knots. This old woman (me) would like to give y'all some advice 1. Y'all need to keep as much cash on you as possible incase things get even worst then they are right now , and y'all have to leave or if the banks close down and you can't get to your money . 2. Need to start growing veggies in your greenhouse as soon as possible, you can grow some veggies in the winter time also 3. Start gathering up wood scrapes, cut down dead trees, gather any limbs on the ground. 4. Buy coal if you can. To use on a grill or in the fire pit make a grill, so you can cook on it . 5. Buy as much food as you can, can goods, dry goods , flour, cornmeal, beans . 6. Buy as much as you can animal food for all of your animals. 7. Stock up on all that you can get your hands on. 8. Buy a wood burning stove/heater for use inside your home to keep you warm and you can cook on it when you need to. 9. If you have a place you can go fishing to catch fish to eat and put up in your freezer. Use fish guts and fish water to fertilize your plants and fruit trees. 10. Learn how to can what foods you can get or grow, such as , veggies, fruits and meats into jars. 11. Learn how to hunt animals for meat to eat. Y'all stay safe especially when going into town and y'all stay together when y'all go into town, never go alone. Thanksgiving is about being Thankful to be alive, and Thankful for all of the blessing that you have had . It doesn't matter what kind of food you serve on Thanksgiving , just be Thankful you have food to put on your table and if you can celebrate with your family and friends. Spread the love. Y'all are in my prayers. Stay Safe.
You came up with an amazing method of planing the counter top. Put tiles behind and side of the counter it really helps to keep things clean. Use the bio gas with your tiny burner for as much as possible to save propane. I hope when things get better prepare for times like what's happening. You have the land, resources and the smarts to figure it out. Your meals always look amazing.
Celebrating doesn't need to be tied to a particular culture, I think it is wonderful for you to build your own traditions. The food looks really good too. Happy Thanksgiving to you both.
Even though I grew up in the USA and have celebrated Thanksgiving for over 50 years, I don’t always have the super traditional foods for Thanksgiving meal. Last year, my family just made a big pot of Gumbo and this year we had some traditional foods and some beautiful fruit and raw vegetables with ranch dip. The only important thing is that you spend time with loved ones appreciating all that you have in your life and most importantly who you have in your life. I am absolutely loving your new kitchen! And the two of you are adorable! ❤️ I hope things get easier soon and you can get gas and propane and things you need much easier.
Rodrigo, get a bidet to replace the toilet paper and have an emergency electric cook top, a single or double burner. I think you can improvise a bidet in your toilet. Look into it and you all will love having it. You have to do whatever you can to survive. You are not doing something wrong by buying propane from the black market. It's an emergency! I wish you all well! I'm so happy how you two are becoming a real couple!
You gotta hustle when times are tough, no shame in that at all. I hope this crisis ends soon, especially so the animals get their food! Poor animals don’t understand what’s going on like we do. Absolutely love the new bench for the sink.
Just struck me that there's a (to my knowledge) perfectly good functional wood fired pizzaoven by the workshop. If propane continues to be a problem there's plenty of recipies you can modify to cook in a pizzaoven
You captured the spirit of Thanksgiving perfectly! Rodrigo you are a genius with your wood working craftsmanship! We lived in Venezuela for 24 yrs and completely understand the difficulties of trying to provide the necessities of simple living.😊
I’m so sorry that so many people are suffering in Panama at this time. I hope the conflict between the government and mining company will come to some sort of agreement and things will get back to normal soon! I’m so glad you have fresh veggies and eggs (and coffee!!😃) and some more propane (no matter how you had to come by it) to get you through in the meantime! We do what we need to do when things get tough. I’m a little worried about the poor animals not having hay though but I know you two are doing your very best and being creative in order to give them the best care possible. You two are so great together! Working through this stressful time with each other shows just how strong your relationship and love for one another is. You definitely have a lot to be thankful for and it’s so great that you were able to have a lovely Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate and a special one at that, being your first one together! I’m in Canada (in Vancouver BC) and we celebrate our Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October. I then became curious about what countries celebrate thanksgiving and I was a little surprised with what I read! Apparently Germany has a harvest festival called Erntedank which is similar to Thanksgiving but is usually celebrated with a church service and not with food as North Americans do. I also read that Liberia and Norfolk Island celebrate in early and mid November and Brazil has a thanksgiving that is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, just as the USA does. Not quite sure how those countries (except for the USA) might celebrate. No matter where one may reside, there is always something to be thankful for. I’m thankful to have learned something new today! 😊 Praying things will get better for you guys! Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️🎉 P.S. beautiful job on the bathroom counter! Looks even better than the first! Love the live edge! 💕
You guys did Thanksgiving perfectly! Sometimes the best memories are of the things gone wrong and you can laugh about it. I remember one year my aunt made a turkey and it literally slid out of the oven and onto the floor! We all yelled “5 second rule!” and we just picked it up really fast and no one ate the bottom part! 😂 Love you guys and I hope you do grow a little family, because little ones like you two would be adorable. 😊❤
I love the bathroom sink! Great job. I pray for people of Panama & they return to peace and harmony. I don't know how the people can afford these exorbitant prices for very long. God's Blessings for your family and friends.😻🤙💜
Your meal looks wonderful. I have to say that I love how much you guys include Lola. She must miss the travellers, but it is so wonderful that she has you both. Sweet pup.
Ahh yes, the rare yet fruitful species of Margaritus Arbor Truncus. Every productive garden needs one! Happy Thanksgiving! Y'all are doing great, thanks for sharing!
I love that you share the work and the cooking. I also like that Rodrigo can enjoy meat sometimes without feeling bad and that Freddy can say, "No meat for me please." And she doesn't have to feel bad for being a vegetarian. That is a very good way to start a relationship when you are living together. Communication is extremely important. Quite often what a woman needs at the moment is to just be listened to. Not for you to try to fix everything. Before you offer any suggestions, ask her if that is something she might want. Sometimes it is not what she wants, and other times it is, and sometimes we don't even know what we want at that moment. You can ask her questions like, " Would you like a hug? Or maybe say, I see you're having a really hard day. How about you go relax, I'll bring you a cup of tea and make some dinner. Then if you want to maybe we can cuddle on the couch and watch a movie."
You guys are making so much progress even with the shortages. Love your wood countertop. It is beautiful. Are you going to make a little cabinet below to hid the pipes. You can cook outside in a Dutch oven on your fire pit until things improve with the propane. You both have so much to be thankful for since you found love. Many blessing and prayers .
The basin in the bathroom looks beautiful - lovely piece of wood and great work. Enjoyed your thanksgiving outdoors next to the fire under the lights.❤️
Watching from the USA. Watching how hard it going for you trying to find things to help you maintain life makes me so grateful that we are still fortunate to have a government that is still working. So hope your country can pull together very soon. Don’t worry about black market buying. You do what you can to survive. Just go back to legal when things return to normal.
Your cooking looks wonderful - I love your kitchen! Prayers that you are able to get food for yourselves and the animals, also fuel soon. Sometimes we have to do things we would rather not if we had a choice. Glad you have the resources to buy the things at exorbitant prices, as many cannot. Take care of each other and stay safe
You guy's should never need to apologise for using the black market when there is no other options available. Honestly just do what you need to, no one can judge you, they are not in your situation. Keep smiling and enjoy the ride, giving to someone less fortunate will cancel out any bad energy you may feel for doing what you need to ❤
My hear is full of happiness for you! you are such a wonderful young man. Your work ethic, kindness, and love you have for others is quite something to watch. I am so happy you have found this awesome young woman to share you love and life with. Thanks for the hard work you put into your videos. It is great to see your channel growing. Blessing to you both.
Happy first thanksgiving together! I look so forward to see your future together. It’s just me & my husband the huskies, kitties and chickens. Our youngest is almost a doctor and she want need our help soon. So we are finding our way as empty nesters. And you know it’s good. Soon we are selling off all our properties in Tennessee and buying our dream home in Florida. We will live near a retirement community. But still our on land so we have the chickens. And we can have a couple of nice trailers so when family visits they have a little Florida home too. I would love for my oldest daughter to come live down there with us, we both have autoimmune diseases that cause a lot of severe chronic pain. And the Florida weather have been the best medicine I’ve found. I think it’s why my little doctor daughter has settled in Florida. She knows every time we traveled to Florida I felt better. So for now our goal is getting these properties ready to sell and enjoying every minute together. Doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you enjoy each other’s company. And you will when you are with your soul mate. And I know you guys are with your soul mate. It took us longer to find each other. But soon we celebrated our 20th anniversary. I am Really Happy for y’all ! One day you will celebrate 20 years too. Leslye
You are so cute putting the counter in the bathroom. Your enthusiasm and Freddy's makes it all so Special to observe. Just think Rodrigo 4 ( or 5?) years ago you were a barista in a coffee shop....now you're a Home Owner and you're building that home with your own 2 hands!! You've definitely had some help by friends n now a real motivator - your girlfriend,! And boy can she help! You are both very hard workers n a joy to watch. I pray for RESOLUTION in Panama NOW♥️🙏🤗
I live in Panama and anyone would know, from past experience, that you need to have a 6 month supply of everything and keep your tank full. For propane get the large tanks. The small tanks are greatly subsidized but obviously you have better reserves with the 125lb tanks.
You've both done SOOSO well with the situation in Panama. As they say, you gotta do what you gotta do in relationship to legalitites, to stay alive and take care of your family. Are you still able to get hay for the animals and whatever you need for them? So glad you have chickens that lay eggs and goats that you can get cheese and milk from. Freddy is a delight and you two are so beautiful together. Get some rest.
Thanksgiving food is what is special to you. Each family in the US cooks differently. You are doing beautifully creating your own traditions. Happy Belated Thanksgiving. Rodrigo, have you ever made Gallo Pinto? I think Freddie would really like it with Salsa Lizano sabrosa, not picante.
Oh, how I wanted to drive down to Panama with a couple tanks of propane. And, I want to bring back with me a starter planting of the margarita tree. Love you guys!
What a message that you are giving to the world....Thanksgiving isn't about the kind of food you have it's about being thankful for what you have! If we all could learn that message it would be such a better world to live in!
Love how you made the bathroom sink. And I love the fact that you can get food from the land like eggs and stuff for dinner. Praying for you guys that everything gets better in your country.🥰❤️
Rodrigo and Lady Freddie, it is so terrible what's happening with the food supply. Maybe consider building a fire pit where you can cook with wood until things change. Also my, revamp your green house so it can give you a few veggies meanwhile and find farmers that have meat chicken for consumption and buy from them. Also, if possible for some fishing around your waterways. It is rough but both can handle it. I'm praying for things to change. Keep golden
So proud and grateful for you two sweet people!!! Going through adversity with a big smile on your face is so inspirational to everyone! You can do it!
You celebrated Thanksgiving perfectly! I didn’t make the traditional turkey dinner this year. I opted for a pot roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was just as nice as the traditional way 🙂
I am sorry you’re struggling to get things out there,it must be so frustrating for you both.A bit like when we had lock down over here and things were so hard to get like toilet rolls too!and a lot of other normal every day things as well..I hope it changes for you all soon.Your sink looks nice now and you had your first Thanksgiving together so it’s a really nice memory for you…Keep having fun..Love n Light 🥰
happy thanksgiving never give up stay strong you got this remember things gets rough before it gette better and real soon it will be better love ya guys praying for you
You two make an adorable couple. I am delighted you both found each other. Rodrigo, I have never seen you happier. I hope things settle back down in Panama. Love you both.
The bathroom sink is beautiful. I hope you will make a cabinet under the sink. A great place to store toilet paper and necessary chemicals for cleaning up the bathroom.
Rod and Freddy I emailed Jordan and Kayle get them to send to you about propane. They are only accepting 300 tanks and you have to have an appointment. Hope that they sent and you were able to get an appointment!
Oh, your Thanks giving feast looked wonderful! I think you guys did a great job! But, in the future, in case you run out of propane, it might be a good idea to purchase a toaster oven. They are electric, and you can run it if youre out of propane... Also your stove's oven has alot more area you have to heat up, so it uses alot more energy.... one more thing... I dont know why you didnt use the biogas? Propane smells just like farts, too....lolol they make it smell that way, so you can smell it if you have a leak... love your videos, and you, and Freddy, and the furbabies!!!😍😍😍
🦋 Great video! Is that wood from your dad’s place that you guys went and got a while back? Kitchen is looking awesome. Bathrooms looking awesome. So nice to see so many things coming together as a result of both of you and your hard work. And the guys that help you as well
Rodrigo, you are lucky to be able to use your oven as here in South Africa we have some serious power problems and we don't use gas! When you get propane you should get as much as you can and stock it up. We don't have "thanksgiving" here, but so good to see how you and Freddie made a plan! Your meal and drinks looks yummy! Rodrigo you should be so proud of all the work you do for your home!🌻🌻
It's great that you now have that wonderful space to cook together. I think every corner of your house will feel special. Each nook and cranny will be filled with memories of all the work and love that went into building it. Just now it's the kitchen, but that is just the start. Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to you both.
You know how the old guys did it in the old days? How they baked bread and cornbread on the wagon trail or the cattle drive? They had deep "Dutch oven" pots---cast iron. They would heat flat stones, and heat the pots (empty), then put the heated stone in the heated pot and put your bread pan over the stone, and cover it with a clean cotton towel, then put the lid on and let the heat of the pot and the stone to do the work of baking. It takes practice.
That was such a romantic Thanksgiving and the food looked so delicious even if it was simple. What counts is that the two and all your pets were together and happy. Really hope that the situation in Panama will get better soon. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪

Good teamwork!!!
Have you ever considered a wood stove inside your cabin? Not sure if people use wood stoves in Panama .. but you could cook on it in an emergency & it’s so nice to have a fire inside if it’s a bit chilly. Just a thought!
Great job on the sink. I hope it doesn't come down to having to cook with coals or something else, I'm sorry for what you're all going through. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, Nancy

Hey get yourself some. Heavy pans and then you Dan cook over a open fire or in your fire pit. Dutch ovens are great to cook in anytime. Meat, vegs, soup anything.
That is sooo cool! You know, actually, things don’t need to be perfect. As long as you’re both happy, you’ll be able to enjoy the small things.. the simple things that make life sooo much better. ❤ Happy Thanksgiving Roger and Freddy.
You are both so awesome! And yes, Rodrigo, you should be proud for figuring out how to use the planer in a way that works better for you! I love seeing you use you completed kitchen and having dinner by the fire was so special. Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
Happy Thanksgiving you guys! Rodrigo you had me cracking up smelling that gas you have in the back. Well at least you cook. Love how the puppies and the animals like Freddie so much, Freddie you're such a good auntie! 😍👍👍Stay safe and see you on the next one.👋👋👋
Definitely you need a set of Dutch ovens, also might want to consider getting a conventional hot plate. You can plug them into your portable power station with you guys going through as much problems with gas and propane. Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Freddie is glowing and looks like she's, you know what. The way she's looking at Rodrigo is so precious. She's deeply in love. If so this creation will be so beautiful because it was made with the purest form of love
Ps... stash some wood under a tarp, and elevated off the ground, so that you have some to burn, even when its raining... Maybe you could make a little shed near your house, with a metal roof to cook under, just in case? 😊
Take the empty spare gas tank and get it filled while you can. You do what you need to do survive. It terrible you’re all struggling. You could look into buying a large wood burning range cooker to heat your home and cook or to build an outdoor kitchen with wood burning oven for your next house project could be a worth while investment.
It gives me joy to see you both work so well together. You take on projects and do them with your whole heart. Wonderful job on the redoing of the bathroom sink counter. Love you guys and enjoyed seeing the Thanksgiving dinner. Glad you got coffee from Arturo. Also glad to see that you have a gas generator by which you get methane from your food scraps. I also can't wait until things go back to normal. BTW Rodrigo Jordan proposed to Kaylee when are you gonna get a nice rock and propose to Freddie. Remember first thing is to ask for Freddie's hand from her father in Germany. So I hope you surprise us with that in the near future. I am a romantic and love to see love blossom and produce relationships that last. Love you guys and have a great and productive and be blessed. Until the next one Ciao!

Freddy has added so much joy to your channel! And when you’re just starting out adversity makes your relationship strong! After 51 years I know! 💖
Totally agree with this! And they could even get a teller faucet too, to sit higher than the bowl.
Spending time with loved ones is the main reason for most holidays 🧡
P.S. beautiful job on the bathroom counter!
I am so sorry that Panama is having such a crisis! Stay safe during this difficult time🤞🙏❤️
That was a nice thanksgiving celebration, you had the most important element which was the two of you being together and thankful for what you have ❤
Your meal looks wonderful.
Such a beautiful sink area, I love the natural wood look.
You two are a good pair. Keep complimenting each other and showing appreciation. It's the secret to a relationship.
Both of you have worked very hard with building your home and looking after the animals , happy thanksgiving to you both regards jan
You 2 are doing a fabulous job in the midst of great difficulties ❤❤❤Looking great 👍 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
You guy's should never need to apologise for using the black market when there is no other options available. Honestly just do what you need to, no one can judge you, they are not in your situation. Keep smiling and enjoy the ride, giving to someone less fortunate will cancel out any bad energy you may feel for doing what you need to ❤
Happy Thanksgiving guys. Hopefully things will get better there soon.
I pray for RESOLUTION in Panama NOW♥️🙏🤗
As long as we are alive we have much for which to be thankful. Blessings to all.
Blessings to your little family, including your furbabies! Love to you both. ❤️ 💙 💜
Omg Rodrigo and Freddie, you are such an adorable couple ❤. Many blessings to you from Canada 🇨🇦
Your joy is infectious! I hope you can find ways to meet your needs during this time. ❤❤
Most people who build a kitchen buy cabinets and install them.
Your kitchen has much more character.
And the guys that help you as well
I made a green drink for thanksgiving dinner. I don’t celebrate any Government sponsored holidays anymore. Turkey makes me sleepy anyway.
You did great on the sink platform!!! You’re just a genius when it comes to creating anything! Freddie is such a great partner loving you and all the animals too! She is such a great help and so happy you are no longer alone facing this life. She is a great young lady and can tell she just loves you and even the animals 😊I think y’all can face anything together and come out even better on the other end!! Thanks for sharing yall lives!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
🦃🍽 ❤YALL!
PS I AM 🙏🙏🙏for Panama to get it together and see how much harm they are now doing their beloved country!
We are grateful for sharing your journey in Panama. Be thankful for what you guys have, the land, the house, the animals, each other.. and most important friendships that last lifetime.
( Frederica, your answer about Rodrigo’s work priceless 😆) from 1- 10, always give your man extra credit and extra points on creativity.
Love it! Your house is becoming more and more beautiful. Good teamwork!!!
Loveee how the bathroom sink looks now!!
Beautiful wood work !!!
🤩🤩
Have you ever considered a wood stove inside your cabin? Not sure if people use wood stoves in Panama .. but you could cook on it in an emergency & it’s so nice to have a fire inside if it’s a bit chilly. Just a thought!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is about being thankful to our Creator who blesses us in so many ways.
Love you guys!
Great job on the sink. I hope it doesn't come down to having to cook with coals or something else, I'm sorry for what you're all going through. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, Nancy
It looks great and food looks good as well be safe sending love and prayers your way prayers for the unrest in Panama and for the people❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🦃🦃🦃🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓
Fried rice is amazing and the egg on top is very common. It looks delicious and you did a great job. Love you and Freddie together...You both are perfect for each other ❤ Keep spreading that Aloha 🌺
Happy Thanksgiving Rodrigo and Freddie praying that things get better in Panama soon
I love watching the two of you together! The love you have for each other is so apparent ❣️
Love watching the house progression, but mostly love your positive attitudes and conquering all the obstacles going on in Panama!❤❤ Love you guys! Its going to get better❤❤
Love you guys so much! You are sharing how to make the best out of every situation. You are an inspiration that never ceases to amaze. Praying the protests stop soon. Do not right for the people of Panama! Be safe and secure! God bless you with all that you need❤️
Hey get yourself some. Heavy pans and then you Dan cook over a open fire or in your fire pit. Dutch ovens are great to cook in anytime. Meat, vegs, soup anything.
Thanks for keeping us updated on your journey and these hard times. You are so resilient. Sending loves 🤙
Freddie has turned out to be a good farmer women..... Keep up the good work both of you two.....
Love watching you thrive. Enjoy celebrating with you both. And . . . learning as I do. Love'n it !! Thumbs up from S. California.
HaPpy Belated Thanksgiving. Prayers for Panama problems to go away!😘
I can feel the love and fun you both are experiencing. I look forward to each and every video. Bye from California.
PRAYERS FOR PANAMA🙏🏻💕🙏🏻
Take the empty spare gas tank and get it filled while you can. You do what you need to do survive. It terrible you’re all struggling.
You could look into buying a large wood burning range cooker to heat your home and cook or to build an outdoor kitchen with wood burning oven for your next house project could be a worth while investment.
You two are wonderful and such a sweet couple with such positive attitudes. Freddie, you have such a precious spirit about you. 💕
I joined today...in addition to the (2) $50 payments, I have signed up to contribute $5.00 per month!! Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!!
This is what Thanksgiving is all about. People coming together and loving and caring for one another. Nailed it guys!
One thing you both still enjoyed yourselves with what is going on over there. Hopefully it will get better.❤
