Your behind the scenes videos was better than the final shoot. The final shoot was really good and you played your part well. But all the agonies that went behind the scenes is the real reality show.
My super skill is knowing, feeling, and understanding potentially dangerous situations and avoiding them before bad things occur. I have a sixth sense and can sense when things don't feel right or something is off, long before others do. And when I explain it in the moment, I cant pinpoint exactly what it is to people, I just know something is out of harmony and its time to leave the situation.
My super skill is remembering people's names and the names of the family they tell me about. When I was working as a nurse giving outpatient chemotherapy my patients appreciated my super skill very much.
Thanks for the video, Eva! Sounds like you went through a real life demonstration of Murphy's Law: "If it can go wrong, it will." And O'Toole's Corollary: "And at the worst possible time!"
Being adaptable is a super skill. I'm 58 years old and have not managed to get it together in that aspect. I'm working on it. When I was watching you gather those roots and spill your water on the fire, etc. I asked myself, "My gawd, what would you do, Sherry?" Cry and want to go home. I like this behind the scenes info - as it all does look very seamless on RUclips. Behind the scenes is kind of the real story. See you on the next adventure!!
Nat Geo has a real jem in you Eva. You're real, you bleed, cry, stumble and get back up and we relate to you so much. It's easy to assume that you have all these mad skills already, but you don't and that makes the show all the better. Love you dear and can't wait for the next episode!
Yep, I have no military experience, but my life experience is that something's going to go wrong. Realize that and be prepared to cope. (Especially when traveling. Flights will be late, luggage will be lost, etc.) Roll with the punches.
We're certainly happy you survived your ordeals! Thanks for sharing, otherwise we would not have known how difficult this was for you. I believe that my superskill has been putting up with pain, negativity, and rejection most of my life without going mad. I could be bitter and angry, but I have remained positive. Truth is, I know that there are millions if not billions of people in the world who have had it worse than I have.
It is actually great that you can share the "behind the scenes" incidents. Everything usually looks unrealistically perfect and gives the wrong impression that all is picture perfect and smooth. That is not how life is.....the troubles and hardships make you stronger and tougher. It is not for the faint-hearted! Well done, Eva!
Crazy! You would never know most of that went on! You and your team are pretty damn awesome! If you learn something from failures and hardships then you grow! Merry Christmas!
Thanks for sharing your bloopers! We all learn from each other through success, failure and our collective ability to overcome adversity. It brings me hope in knowing that strong women with good hearts and sensibilities still exist in the world. As for my own superpower ... I have the innate ability to see through everyone's bs except for my own. I think that's why there are so many of us, though. If we pay close attention to honest feedback, we get to see a picture of who we are. 😊
You are the most inspiring woman that I "met" in my life! How your mindset is carrying you through challenges is awesome and shows how strong you are. Thanks for being so honest. Honesty and empathy are my biggest goals. Best wishes on your future paths, and thank you for sharing!
I mentioned this in the Nat Geo video, but I like the behind the realness and behind the scenes of that show and this video. Seeing the effort you put in, along with the education is also an education. Then seeing your crew mess with you was also enjoyable. In the military, some of your best friends and best memories are made when you're doing something worth doing, but in a way that challenges you. Being in, "the suck" and pushing through it builds a great bond. Great job!
I love the show! I hope you get to do more of them with Nat Geo. My super skill: finally realizing that it’s ok to make mistakes. Learn from it and move on. It’s not the end of the world. (I looked outside and the world is still here) 😊
I saw the scrapes on your legs in the running episode and was waiting for you to fall in that one(at some point) but you had done the damage the day before. I can not believe you ran that distance after. Thinking of you flying through the air landing on the rocks......gives me that fingers scraping on a chalkboard feel inside. OUCHHHHH!!!!!!!
Omg the stalker showing up freaking crazy. I’m glad you had a crew around you. I hope you have a restraining order. Getting ready to watch the second show. Loved the first one!!
You amaze me with your courage every time, Eva. I am loving your new show as well. So cool to see the inner workings of the Hadza--a group I've taught about for years. Merry Christmas!
Wow what an adventure you’re having. Can’t wait to watch the second video. My superskill is living and travelling in Asia, Africa, Philippines having 4 kids while travelling then after my husband and daughter died bringing up my other three daughters on my own , retiring early and now I’ve been travelling for 18 months in my campervan looking to buy a second smaller home somewhere warmer than Ireland . My superskill is travelling while not giving up my desire for children and allowing it to stop me from ever travelling again. I grew up in Ireland Africa and Asia with my parents so it’s in my blood. You can have all your desires. Maybe not all at once but my superskill was being brave enough to grab what I want from life. As I unfortunately found out this life is over in the blink of an eye. Grab it with both hands and don’t let go. Hang on and enjoy the ride even if you hurt yourself in the process. A life well lived and a search for the beauty in this world . That’s my goal.
We have watched both of you new shows on national geo. They was great. You did a fantastic job. Continued success. Merry xmas. To you and your big boy ❤
I do not understand how you can be such an enticing presenter with all those hardships... Really, how can you compartimentize... Also such a showing of how much a human being can handle. I hope yyou have many happy and beautiful times in your life 💖
The funny thing about a lot going wrong is learning how to overcome and make it workout is where the most satisfaction and worth it comes from! From what I’ve seen and watched of you your Grandfather is most definitely vary proud of your accomplishments. Awesome work.
I was wondering what happened to your knees in the first episode. Its extremely unfortunate that that happened right before your very first shoot. Hopefully you have had a full recovery from your fall and chest infection! Its amazing and super inspiring to see the physical and mental resilience that you have to keep pushing forward, even in such stressful situations. I am loving the new show and wishing you & the team nothing but the happiest of holidays this year! I look forward to the next episodes and more of your RUclips content! Thank you for all you do, Eva! =)
I watched it as soon as it came out. Keep up the great work. I'm 72 years young. My grandfather was a National Geographic junkie. He would have been totally in love with your adventures. ❤
The stresses that you were going through did not show on camera-- well done! The business of the stalker "showing up" in Kilimanjaro... That is not an idle stalking incident-- he had to know when and where you were going to be. I'm sure you or the authorities have asked these questions. They're pretty obvious. He had to have inside info. So you must reinforce your strictures on your team and/family. Even your family. Watch how your email is encrypted, change passwords etc. I would hope the Nat Geo team had some people to help when in a foreign land. Be safe! Best of the seasonal stuff!
Yay I was wondering about when second episode would be available to be viewed. Interesting hearing about the behind the scenes. It must of been really hard filming etc with chest infection 😮
Things that do go wrong , It happens more than you think to everybody. The key is how you handle it. And looks to me you did it quite well, Eva. I think that's why NatGeo hired you as part of their team. Picking yourself up and go again. Tthe two episodes are fantastic. Well done. Sending you Best Wishes for a great Holiday Season 🌲🙏🎄 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Thank you for being so honest and sharing everything with us Eva. That is what makes you so awesome. It is a great series & I'm looking forward to the next episode !
Another of your superskills is humour, loved the shot of the crew having lunch at a table (with tablecloth!) while you were sitting in the dust preparing your ?food?
Oh so happy to see you back in Tz with the Hadzabe- what a beautiful group of people and so lucky we get to see these last hunter gatherers. I lived in Tanzania for many very a decade just at the base of Kilimanjaro- and in that time I was only able to meet with the tubes women. They didn’t really have many visitors back then! The women gathered and the men hunted. Can’t wait to watch the videos! You’re such a brave girl 🙏🏼
I am so proud of you!!! You deserve all you have from the dedication you gave to solo traveling. I did the zephyr after watching your episode. I follow you but not like the idiots that literally follow you. Please stay safe with Vilk. You rock!!!!! - Nelson / Brooklyn, NY
Well done you!! Life reminds me of sailing - you don’t know what can go wrong until it does. You can guess. You can plan. In the end you can only learn by doing.
Congrats! Eva 🎉🎉 on your Nat Geo show! I watched the first two episodes and absolutely loved them-such an inspiring journey! Looking forward to more! God bless and take care always ❤
Yup, adaptability is the mother of all skills. Without it, nothing else can happen. We all want life to flow smooth, but it never does. Kudos to you and the crew for pulling these shows off. While you don’t say it in your video, I heard a lot of vital lessons that you’ll take with you in all your future endeavors. Well done.
Welcome to the world of documentary filmmaking. I'm very glad you got through it and that it all came out good in the end. I work in post production (editing, graphics, etc.) and the worst I have to worry about is running out of disk space or having a software crash. Let's hope that this leads to more great gigs like this one for you.
Your super skill Eva is your passion, adventurous spirit and zest for living. That pushes you to do the impossibles and experience the wonders of nature and the peoples around it. Followed you closely on all on shows. What a great inspiration for all. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
Just watched the episode, they are truly amazing people. I can see going to these places can be really challenging but the stories y’all are bringing us are priceless so far. Really enjoyed first two episodes and looking forward to the rest.
I was a writer/producer/director for over 30 years. Location shoots were the worst, but even when we would shoot in the studio obstacles appeared. Most of my stuff was fully scripted but we had to make adjustments. People don't understand how many corrections are made in editing to overcome missed shots, faulty shots, lost footage, mistakes by all levels of crew, missing equipment, missed travel plans, etc. You just learn to roll with it. The only problem that scared me the most was when you got sick. It rarely happened but I never would put any member of my crew in danger. I'm not being critical because I was not there to assess. Personally, I worked when I was so sick I shouldn't have, but being charge I thought I had to muster through it. Luckily, I came out the other end. Be guarded of your health.
Ahhh yes , shooting in outdoor locations, the environment controls everything. Not the other way around. There’s the plane flying overhead, cut! Rolling! Action! Dog barks, cut! Ok rolling, action! Rain starts bucketing down! Cut ! I’ve acted in a few things and most days we’ve done outdoor shoots, it always seems to get really cold, even in summer 😂
Experience is a great teacher. I always carry a change of clothes in my hand baggage just in case.. I did enjoy the first episode. Those ladies were awsome..
Everything that goes wrong will prepare you for the next show you're doing! It's heartbreaking to be like dealing with a Chest Infection/medical issues when all you want is to be in the moment and enjoy the filming/experience. Nothing in life was ever easy, and you were able to overcome and finish up the episodes! Although i hope, at least with Kilimanjaro, you're able to go back and do it again when you're well, so you can fully take in the experience. Mountain climbing really isn't my thing, but i know for many it is and it's an amazing/addictive experience.
The 2 NG episodes I've watched are top shelf. I actually also watched your Iceland trip - right after the Hadza episode. Quite the temp extreme! LOL Well done Eva! Big respect 🙏
I saw the bad bruises on your knees on the first episode and wondered what happened, all these trails and tribulations and you keep moving forward, you are one tough cookie, again congratulations on the Nat Geo series and again go build the cabin/cottage on your land Vlek what’s a home base 🐶
Oh Eva! Wow! You nailed it, naming your super-skill! What resilience you have, to keep going in spite of challenges and setbacks. Your travails have been substantial! I saw your skinned knees in the Mexico episode, and figured the fall was edited out, only to find out that you fell before you got there! You are the definition of intrepid!! Be careful out there, adventure woman! 😄
After hearing all you've endured making this series. I'm simply in awe of what you've accomplished. I've followed your adventures for a long time and I've known that much of those were difficult. This puts it all into perspective of how badass you really are. Can't wait to see the new episode in the Amazon.
I just assume Eva is, for all intents and purposes, indestructible! I've watched her so much is such insane situations and she brushes it off like it's a trip to Harrods! No-one walks the walk better, including Bear Grills who's a pansy by comparison! She's iconic 😊
I watched your video Eva, and I was so amazed by how these people lived, hunted (and what a percise shot they can make) and just survive in that vast wilderness. And I will also say, you sure put together a astounding national geographic video while you were there.
Undertaking a project like the Superskilled would no doubt have challenges not fit for the faint of heart. You, Ms. Eva, are resilient and will only get stronger as you go forward. This series exemplifies that trait in you. 💪✌
Huge Congratulations to your new channel with Nat Geo your where born for it ,I think you are the Super Skilled I have watched and will continue to watch BC OU ARE AN INSPIRING AMAZING COURAGES WOMEN Godbless you Eva please be careful Vilk needs his Mum and so do we need you .Sending lots love to you and Vilk 💞🙏From Me V Western Australia
Eva, both episodes have been amazing! Love your adventures and storytelling. It's wonderful to see someone's dreams coming to fruition. Great work Eva! ☮️❤️😎
I wondered about the scabs on your knees in the first one, although you never mentioned how that happened. Sorry all that happened. Good job in the end, it was a great video. As for super skills, I live in the PNW and it goes without saying to most people, it rains here. A lot. I have learned how to build a fire in the rain. I don't grind two sticks together, but even with a good lighter this is not an easy thing to do. There is no room here to explain all the tips and tricks, only to say there is some. Right on Eva. I can't wait to see the rest of the shows. You will be a survivalist soon if you keep doing these! Peace to you and puppy dog love to Vilk!
Being rich is doing what you want every day. Having control over your life. Being poor is doing a job you hate just to get by. It sounds like the Hadza are rich.
Eva, you had a strong case of Murphey's Law. That is where anything that can go wrong....will. But, you survived, lived to tell about it, and look very invigorated. I've watched episode one, and will soon watch episode two.
Nothing went wrong, but a lot of challenges haha. Great stories behind the scenes! And at 52 I realize that some people do experience more challenges than others. Extra tests in resilience💪 and also self care and feeling empathy for others
Eva, you inspire me a lot. Your experiences in those videos that you do are just a perfect metaphor for the real life for us as humans. You are very amazing!!
I love the first episode. The colors of the women's dresses just blew me away. The second episode I had to stop every once in a while because my anxiety would kick in. At 73 I love watching all that you do and regret I didn't have a chance to do everything I wanted.
Fantastic. I checked both episodes as soon as they were up. My super skill is bouncing back. I think of myself as one of those toys that have a weight in the bottom so that if you try to knock them over they come back up.
OMG! Your poor knees! YIKES!!! I fell once walking down a hill (desert one in Phoenix), my foot flew backwards and I landed on my knee, thought I had broken something too (would have been my 1st) and it hurt so much! I had a hard time getting up because I'm overweight but managed to get up, luckily had my dog w/me so I kinda leaned on him a little for a soft spot on my knee (it's hard to describe) and limped back to my van...it was not fun. And then to be on "you know what" olus an infection? Wow...yea, sounds like everything that could wrong, went wrong...but ya know what they say...what don't kill ya...thanks for sharing!
The best creations are a result of chaos and everything going wrong… your adaptability made this episode epic… good job… silk purse out of a sow’s ear…
Agree 101%
Any normal person would have given up and gone home, what makes you, you is exactly your determination to see things through.. Admirable AF x
Really appreciate the candid BTS share! Allows us to vicariously experience your amazing experiences. You’re crazy brave. Thank you.
I was a soldier , you did good, relax nothing is under control. Adapt and overcome get the mission done. Good job.
improvise, adapt, overcome...
Relax nothing is under control....I like that..I plan to remember that.
@TheRowls also attention to detail....well done
Yep, I have no military experience, but my life experience is that something's going to go wrong. Realize that and be prepared to cope. (Especially when traveling. Flights will be late, luggage will be lost, etc.) Roll with the punches.
We're certainly happy you survived your ordeals! Thanks for sharing, otherwise we would not have known how difficult this was for you. Truth is, I know that there are millions if not billions of people in the world who have had it worse than I have.
It is actually great that you can share the "behind the scenes" incidents. Everything usually looks unrealistically perfect and gives the wrong impression that all is picture perfect and smooth. The first episodes were amazing. You are an inspiration to many and are taking me to places I will never have a chance to see, in person. Thank-you!
I'm getting your NatGeo video about 12 hours before your video here.
Loved the first two episodes. Excited for more.
You fall and you get up and you will be stronger than yesterday. Keep your spirit up, Eva!
Omg the stalker showing up freaking crazy. I’m glad you had a crew around you. I hope you have a restraining order. Getting ready to watch the second show. Loved the first one!!
You know you're living your dream when the excitement and thought energy it brings are bigger than any adversities and uncomfortable moments.
Eva you are such a trooper. Most people would have given up for sure. I so hope Nat Geo is smart enough to give you a second season.
You amaze me with your courage every time, Eva. I am loving your new show as well. So cool to see the inner workings of the Hadza--a group I've taught about for years. Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays Eva, be well and enjoy your family ❤
"The only way out is through" is my motto for a LOT of things, and it does really help! My superskill has to be my determination. I never give up.

No nie mogę, jak ja kocham Ewę i jej dorobek na tej planecie ❤ Program super! You go girl!

Congrats! Eva 🎉🎉 on your Nat Geo show! I watched the first two episodes and absolutely loved them-such an inspiring journey! Looking forward to more! God bless and take care always ❤
I too have been flat on the ground thinking “This is going to hurt when I move” it sucks !

"Behind the scenes" are the best part. You are getting some great life experiences. And me, by watching yours. Thank you.
Patience. It has gotten me through countless challenges that otherwise could have been disasters. Great job overcoming your challenges.
Just watched the episode, they are truly amazing people. I can see going to these places can be really challenging but the stories y’all are bringing us are priceless so far. Really enjoyed first two episodes and looking forward to the rest.

Enjoying the series very much, your transparency really add a genuine twist to your adventures. Looking forward to your next video
You are utterly amazing for being able to juggle and persevere through all that.
Wow! What you do for viewers is priceless! I sincerely hope countless people watch your work. Its a gift of to the world. Well done, luv!

I'm here because of ITCHY BOOTS. Eva is the BEST! So exciting to hear about the new Nat Geo show! Mexico trip sounds lovely, hahaha
I saw the bad bruises on your knees on the first episode and wondered what happened, all these trails and tribulations and you keep moving forward, you are one tough cookie, again congratulations on the Nat Geo series and again go build the cabin/cottage on your land Vlek what’s a home base 🐶
My Super skill is visualizing an outcome and making it happen. Whether it's with a team or solo.
Oh Eva! 😄
My super skill is watching and liking all your amazing videos!
After hearing all you've endured making this series. I'm simply in awe of what you've accomplished. I've followed your adventures for a long time and I've known that much of those were difficult. This puts it all into perspective of how badass you really are. Can't wait to see the new episode in the Amazon.
Hi, Eva! Thanks so much for devoting so much effort to producing such wholesome and informative content! 👏
I am keeping fingers, toes, and even eyes and ears crossed that episodes 3 and 4 go more smoothly!
You are a super lady. Most people cannot imagine the places you have one or things you have seen. I look forward to every show
I just assume Eva is, for all intents and purposes, indestructible! I've watched her so much is such insane situations and she brushes it off like it's a trip to Harrods! No-one walks the walk better, including Bear Grills who's a pansy by comparison! She's iconic 😊
That was fantastic!! Congratulations!!
I watched your video Eva, and I was so amazed by how these people lived, hunted (and what a percise shot they can make) and just survive in that vast wilderness. And I will also say, you sure put together a astounding national geographic video while you were there.
My super skill is creativity and resourcefulness.
Great backstory to the first two FANTASTIC episodes.. Great stuff, thanks!!
You’re a tough cookie and easily likeable, I wish you continued success!
Eva, both episodes have been amazing! Love your adventures and storytelling. It's wonderful to see someone's dreams coming to fruition. Great work Eva!
☮️❤️😎
... A great production of your strengths to dig within when tested ... Stay aware and Stay Safe ...
You have enough footage from over the years to simply dissect and would take a lifetime to cover. Great stuff!!
With all the problems, the photography, the content, and the presentation are great
Eva, you had a strong case of Murphey's Law. That is where anything that can go wrong....will. But, you survived, lived to tell about it, and look very invigorated. I've watched episode one, and will soon watch episode two.
You are an absolute trooper Eva, love the vlog and really enjoying the NatGeo episodes.
Loving the Geo series Eva Zu! Hope you & Vilk have a very Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅
I watched both episodes, and it's a good show! Very interesting, and good on you for taking on the challenge. 😊
I was wondering about the scrapes and scratches watching that episode! Great show so far!
Can’t wait to see it!!❤❤❤ Making my family feel loved!
As a aspiring RUclipsr I really like your videos Eva! Very cool, Andre
Hi! Is always super inspiring watching you facing challenges in your videos, Thanks and enjoy your life!
The best creations are a result of chaos and everything going wrong… your adaptability made this episode epic… good job… silk purse out of a sow’s ear…
I saw the first episode and loved it. Not only entertaining but educational and I am sure this episode will be equally as great.👍❤️
