I'm so glad you guys do not share Sadie having a melt-down, or her tough times. The internet is forever - and it wouldn't be fair to her. Good parenting!
She’s a very normal child, as far as that goes being two, but she’s also extremely advanced for her age. You should be proud that she’s making decisions already because she’s a smart young lady. She knows what she wants. Parenting isn’t easy but you guys are doing an amazing job. Loving Sadies pigtails by the way, they are adorable. My daughter had so much hair at that age hers were curly little curly puffballs!
I have been teaching Pre-Kindergarten for over 20 years, and I think you are providing Sadie with so many opportunities to learn both academically and socially and emotionally. She's going to have many great days, but the tough days also good too; it teaches her how to deal with her emotions and you have such a rare opportunity of both her Mother and Father being there together helping her navigate her feelings. Sadie is a very smart and sweet little girl. You two are doing great ❤
Of the thousands and thousands of miles I've traveled, between west coast and east, Florida to Alaska and everywhere in between. Of all the landscapes I've seen, the desert is amongst my favorite. It's so strangely beautiful. But even more than that, is the feeling you get there. It's almost indescribable. I got to enjoy a little bit of that feeling today just watching. I'm inspired. I'm going to hop in the car in the very near future and take a mini trip to the desert. It's been too long. Thankfully, I'm in SoCal so, I don't need to travel far too get there. Sometimes we forget about the wonderful things we have in our own backyards. Thanks for the reminder.
I always called them terrific twos. They are learning more and more independence and that is always difficult for parents. What a great opportunity Sadie has to travel and see her wonderful world in the safety of being with the two people who love her most.
So we drove 5 hours last night and found the spot but someone already got the coffee . It was great to be a part of this adventure even tho we didn’t find it … we found the spot !!!!! Happy hunting everyone … can’t wait to see who found this one
The pig tails are adorable. ❤️ No need to show Sadie not being cooperative, we don’t need to see those very personal moments and how you handle her. Keeping videos positive is appreciated. We already have so much negativity in this crazy world. We know she’s not perfect and being a two year old is challenging for both of you! Her experience in this journey does expose her to different environmental elements. That in itself will have an impact on her behavior! She’s such a smart little girl! ❤️👍
It's not the "terrible twos" it's just maturing. Sadie is just discovering her independence. We don't need to see her tantrums. Every child goes through a phase and she is no different. Watching her and the way you parent her is enough to warm my heart!
Regarding chapstick, you should know that it contains phenol which is drying, requiring frequent reuse. Coconut oil in a pinch is far better, but whatever you buy, read all the ingredients. ❤
Playing in the sand was my favourite scene! Your love for each other gives Sadie very healthy base for her future relationship. She is so blessed to have you both for her parents. Love you guys ❤❤❤
So many things to say... first, we never want fully compliant children. We want them to be a little disagreeable! I always remind myself that this is how they develop free will and confidence. Second, what you are doing is amazing. We must push outside of our comfort zones to grow. We must challenge ourselves to develop character. You're doing this within an adventure and surrounded by the most loving people. Sadie is so blessed! She will grow to be strong and passionate and empathetic. I adore you and your family. I'm so proud of you and how far you've come. I'm clicking asap to see where you drop a bag in AZ! My kiddos and I will be ready for an adventure! Cheering you on and thank you for sharing. The work that goes into making these videos is not unbelievable.
I might be racing you for that AZ drop if it's anywhere near Phoenix area lol. I have a feeling they'll be going near Grand Canyon though. Which they definitely should because northern AZ is amazing.
That rest stop was awesome! One thing I started with my 2 yr olds was countdown. When we had to change locations I would say 5 minutes till we (fill in the blank) 4 min, 3, etc. No abrupt changes. Gives them some control.
I don't think control is the right word but do understand that It gives them a chance to be involved in the change and time to process that we will be leaving also when doing the count down let her know where the next amazing and excited place you will be traveling to.
Agreed giving toddlers a 5 min notice of when you are leaving very helpful; as well as setting expectations of what is going to happen on arrival esp grocery stores ( can they get a toy or candy etc) - anything to help them w transitions
@@gabbadd5840 Yes. One day they didn't have to get up or out of bed early if they didn't want to. One day they didn't have to get back into the truck and drive anywhere. One day they did not have to post a video. What a nice, quiet, just them day. Would do a lot for morale and stress for ALL of them. Blessings to you.
I have followed you since 2020 and even though it would be too costly to by and ship your coffee to Scandinavia, you have inspired me to go hunt for similar products in my part of the world. I want to give thanks for this and also now with your trip showing your beautiful country, amazing landscapes, wonderful people parts of America that otherwise I would never have seen or known about. Do not worry so much about little Sadie. Besides being adorable beyond words, she is the most healthy and well developed child, you should be proud. Again thank you so much for showing me the true America 🙏❤
@@yolanda5543 I've seen many videos and pictures from when I was a kid and I don't remember it besides a few things and just a glimpse. And a kid and teenager is not going to watch videos of them growing up because they have life to experience. A kid would only be interested every once in an eon.
Jorden!!! Don’t get chap stick lips! Read on it! Use coconut oil for everything my doctor said. Literally, coconut oil is safe anywhere on your body! Great video! Sadie is so cute! ❤ Maybe her terrible twos isn’t half as bad but it might be just the travel. But don’t worry, she’ll be fine and once back on the farm she’ll be ok. Don’t feel bad for enjoying life on the road. Millions travel with their babies and she’s not missing out on anything, more so her growth with only flourish more for it. You guys are fabulous parents.
What happens to someone who is allergic to oil's? There are people out there who are and that is a compromise to their system. Not all doctors are right besides what is good for you maybe not for others.
@@jeannemarcinek4575 obviously you don't use anything you are allergic to. Jojoba oil makes a good lip balm. You can use any oil you cook with on your lips and skin, though we've been programmed to believe that's gross.
THANK YOU so much for going to Death Valley. I’m my early 20’s ( 20 yrs ago) I went there with my big brother for a road trip of a life time. We made the best and some of my favorite memories. Just two yrs later he died. I haven’t been back to Death Valley until you took us there today. Seeing the Sand dunes that I woke for the first time, voluntarily at 5am, just to see sun rise from the top of a dune, the mt’s and remembering the awful mining trail that we hiked in 100 degree weather while I complained the whole way and he kept reassuring me that it was gonna be worth it ….it wasn’t 🤣, even the same campground where we cooked raw spaghetti on a tiny hike stove for 45 mins and then dumped it on the ground but ate it anyhow. Seeing all of these places again was an experience I didn’t know I needed! It was amazing but bitter sweet. My heart …and eyes, feel full !! THANKS AGAIN soooo much ! I could practically feel him amazing bear hugs again and hear his goofy laugh. I figured buying ur chap stick for ya was the least I could ❤️❤️❤️
Sadie, is in a learning phase! She is becoming a little more independent and developing her little personality. She is also testing the waters and learning new boundaries. A lot to take in for such a young child. She is learning to make decisions and expressing her feelings. 😂Hang in there parents and know you are doing a great job with a great kid! Love her sweet, little singing she does, so precious! Happy journeys! God bless y’all! CarrieJo/NC ❤❤❤
The main reason for challenging behaviour in two year-olds is their inability to communicate what they need/want and they get frustrated. Sadie's vocabulary is amazing, so I think you'll be just fine! You're smashing it!
Omg, when Sadie said "that's so beautiful, mama", my heart smiled! Death Valley looks so forbidding and you guys found the beauty in it and your whole family was smiling, what a great day!
Sadie is definitely being affected by this trip you guys decided to go on... only in the most positive of ways! ❤ What a lucky little lady to get to spend all day in the presence of her awesome and happy parents, seeing sights most only dream of! I wouldn't dwell on negative thoughts that creep in... who else gets to spend the day in the country's biggest and funnest sandbox!? You guys rock ⚡️👊⚡️
My dad passed when I was 3. One of the memories I have of him is when he took me and my older siblings fishing. It was when I was about Sadie's age. She might not remember the whole trip, but there will be pieces that she will hold in her heart for a lifetime. I will be 66 in a few days, and that is still one of my most precious memories!
Hello Kaley, Jordan, and Sadie; You folks are doing wonderfully well with everything! Finding ones independent legs is always a challenge and your little one is doing amazingly well... She has consistency ie: the sleeping quarters, the mealtimes, even the adventure itself... and most importantly, she has both of you! The other thing is that you both take the time to listen to her and hear her and share thoughts and ideas... this is great! We all go through growth spurts... at ALL ages! suprise, suprise... we just need to give ourselves space to work through the newness... and you both are sooooo much aware and knowledgeable... you are doing very well! Beautiful scenery... thank you for the trip... I would not have seen Death Valley otherwise! Hugs to all Take care God Bless Linda in Canada ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jordan, spent the night once in Death Valley, camping out where we were not supposed to... sleeping in the back of a pickup. The desert came alive with critters moving about. You could hear them but never see them.
Death Valley is a beautiful place. The sand dunes are awesome. The pronunciation is "Mess Keet". There is only one palm tree native to California. It is the fan palm (Washingtonia filifera) and it is only found natively in Anza Borrego Desert. There is so much life in Death Valley. You have to know how to find the life, but it is everywhere.
Recent studies and more modern theory on Washingtonia filifera is that it is a relict species that was once more widespread across the southwest, and now only a few isolated specimens remain. There is some evidence left in the form of widespread native petroglyphs depicting the trees, and isolated surviving palm oases where the current microclimate is still favorable for survival. Such places as Fortynine Palms Oasis, and Moapa Valley may also be some of the last hold outs of true native W. filifera. Native Petroglyphs in Moapa depict a few specimens that can still be located nearby. These are believed to be made long before any modern settlement of the area. The claims that miners carried and planted fan palms are most likely a confusion with date palms that miners would plant as a hardy source of carbohydrates. There would be no practical reason for a miner to cultivate a native fan palm. Oh and as a side note, I hear a local miner already found that bag of coffee out there.
Sadie's getting so much brain stimulation on these travels. I think that's what is important at this age. You're doing a great job with her, obviously!
I think it is awesome that a couple videos and 1 state ago when you were in my neighborhood you had to stop because of snow and now you are enjoying heat in a tanktop. We are near 5000 ft and you went down to negative elevation. There is so much amazing and gorgeous variety in the Pacific Northwest! Dad always said when God finished creating our world he dumped all the leftovers here, I like to think it is true.
Instead of thinking of 'terrible twos', think of it as 'terrific twos', an amazing time when a child is learning to become independent and her own person. Sure there will be times when she doesn't yet have the words to be able to express what she is feeling but, as you are doing an amazing job as parents, you will guide her through these times and you will all get through them intact.
I agree about the 'terrible twos'-awful name! I never bought into that bs with my little guy. Sadie is just becoming more independent and is quite capable of expressing herself. Basically, the littles need food, love and sleep. SUGAR intake is a big reason for meltdowns, I believe, as the sugar crashes can be too much for little bodies. Also, I was fortunate enough to spend 6 weeks on the road with my son as a babe, not much older than Sadie. We went from coast to coast and back. Incredible trip! I personally do not think any travel is too much, regardless of age. I am not judging at all...just sharing my personal experiences and opinion. Sadie is doing great! Hats off to both of you as parents! Safe travels! Have FUN!
We called them the terrific twos to offset the negative and it worked really well. She’s just a little person who is highly developed so meltdowns are part of the learning. You guys are doing great keep it up
Seeing your abundant joy at the beauty of our great country is a balm to a weary soul. That sunset was poetry. Thank you for so respectfully sharing it. The quiet awe in your voices was beautiful!
Awww, gee whiz what a different video 😂 I had a cousin who routinely drove a semi through Death Valley a lot . Sadie is such a cute Galloping little tart walking this way and that way everywhere there.❤ deserts are so different. Guess it's so dry that there's no spiders, scorpions or reptiles. U2 looked so happy there. Would be an awful place to have vehicle failure. Well, I've said enough so adios amigos and Senoritas❤❤❤
Spring and fall are the best times to visit Death Valley. It is freezing in the winter, and broiling in the summer. You hit it just right. So much fun to see Sadie hiking along with you.
As part of my daughter's degree in geology, she spent many field trips in Death Valley. We've camped all over on our own trips before then, from the highest camps to the most remote. We love and respect the desert, anywhere in California. Yes, she is a fourth generation Californian. I love this state, and every part of it.
In Death Valley, there used to be A place called, Calico Ghost Mine. Its closed now . My son goes out there to dirt bike ride and take their Polaris vehicle and rv .
Just loving Sadie's ponytails. What a different it makes. She is growing up very quickly. And learning in her own way. Just go with the flow. Not long then she will be starting school. Regards 🇿🇦.
ADVICE When traveling the road of life One must remember this: It doesn't matter pain or strife Or embodiment of bliss... It only matters how you go Through every winding turn... How You live who you love and everything you learn. So find and ride the path you choose Till heartbeats nevermore. One precious moment's not to lose Is what we travel for. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, Nancy
Watching my cousins and friends with their kids taught me many lessons for when I had my own child. The most important to me was, do NOT say no to them! It’s the first word they will repeat, and with such strong emphasis, because we use it that way. So I would say, ‘that’s not for you’, ‘don’t touch that’, or ‘we don’t say that word’, stuff like that. One day I was watching her reach for a small plant on my mom’s coffee table, she stopped, pointed at her own hand and said ‘dats naw or ju!’ She learned to discipline herself without feeling bad about herself! I was sooo proud of her and her dad because he followed my way of thinking when it came to this subject… Move forward several years to an ex, we stayed friends, wouldn’t listen to me when he had a new baby, to stop saying NO! So her first words on her first Easter morning was NO!, when he told her to let mommy put on her shoes! She pointed at him and in a very loud and emphatic tone told him 👉🏽 NO!!! I died laughing at the look on his face. I LOVE being right, when he’s so very wrong! His wife was laughing into her shoulder so the little monster in the making didn’t see her, and feel encouraged! Best feeling of being vindicated EVER! 😱🤭😂🤣
As a father and grandfather I can tell you the transitions can be very difficult. You are both are creative so think ahead with things as easy as changing the subject redirecting her thoughts in a new direction before she comes unglued. Your doing a great job as parents.
Hi Jordan Kaylee and Sadie. Please be careful in Death Valley their are Trantulas there. There was just a guy on a motorcycle in an Accident because of a Trantschula spider. Looks amazing but I’m sure I would run into a snake or a spider. Thank you for sharing this road trip. I am seeing so many different places I want to go see now. Sadie is doing great. I’m sure she might remember some of the stuff. You will have to do it all again when she is around 10 years old so she can remember. Of course she will see all the videos of her whole life. Thank you for the Technology 😂 some good some bad. It is really good that you both get to see all of her 1st things that she does. You are very blessed. We only have one life so it is best to do what you enjoy in life. I appreciate all you do for all of us. I feel very special now that I get to you everyday. I know we all are getting spoiled so I am going to take advantage of all the time you are sharing. Thank you so so very much. My son turned me on to your channel 11:45 years ago and have been watching all of you since. My dad passed away a couple of months ago so I was always busy taking care of him but now I have time for myself to go wherever so if I ever get the courage to go to Stowe Vermont to get some coffee and meet up with you all of you it would be fabulous. We’ll be careful and safe and enjoy your time traveling. See ya on the next video. Hugs and kisses to Sadie.
What you guys are doing with Sadie right now is wonderful, she is gaining so much from this experience. The melt-downs are a normal part of toddler-hood. Keep doing what you're doing guys.
At 11:15 I got chillbumps! I am so happy you guys had a fantastic day to recuperate! And THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for sharing this adventure! Even though I kissed younguys passing through my neck of the woods..and missed finding the coffee…enjoying all these amazing places in our amazing country vicariously through you is still worth watching every day! I got the wanderlust back in 2017 when I was all “eat up” with skoolie buses and dreamed of bus life! Now I just dream of full time Rv life. When I was in my 20’s I wanted to travel the world..now I’d just love to see all the gorgeous places in our own country.
💚 Love your visit to CA! And from Snow at Crater Lake, to Mt. Shasta, to Death Valley..woo hoo hoo! Glad Sadie had a great day in the biggest, softest sandbox! 💚
Love how Sadie is enjoying this adventure, love how she was enjoying the sand dunes such a happy camper and love how she enjoys walking on the cliffs from the mountains. Stay safe 🙏😍
I absolutely Love Death Valley, I used to visit there every Year in November when there was a Western Artist show and a fund raiser for the Highschool students from the area, it was such a beautiful time of the year with perfect weather to enjoy the campfire entertainment in the evenings and then explore the natural beauty of the area. and Yes Gas has always been $1.50-$2.00 more per gallon in the Valley, would always take a afternoon drive over to Beatty, NV to the east Just to fill up before heading home and then also have lunch at one of the small restaurants there. and enjoy the old Ghost town of Rhyolite on the return to Furnace Creek.
Loved today's video! Glad it was a good day for the entire family! It sure looked like fun. I've traveled with grown men that have had meltdowns on the road, so it can be challenging for Sadie, and for the two of you. :) Hang in there, you're dong great! Death Valley is a beautiful place, so glad you enjoyed the big sandbox and the golden hour, thanks for taking us along on your journey. Love you guys P.S. We used to fly small planes and land in Death Valley and it's trippy landing below sea level when your gauges max out at 0.
My own kids were polar opposite as toddlers. One had tantrums, the other hyper, it seemed hyper activity fed hyper energy. My two had much in common in that the out of character behavior seemed to stem from over stimulation. Sometimes we all need a calm, 11:51 peaceful walk in the park or an opportunity to let go and just run and play!
Sadie is sooo beautiful! My daughter and I would compete with which one went to the most states. She became a college basketball coach and I lost! But so happy for her! 😊 Sadie can complete with her friends! My folks and I drove from coast to coast in ..with no air conditioning, except in the motels. No siblings, no iPad! I sang a lot too in the car! No damage done!
Kaylee- about the growth spurt of Sadie's 2 phase- here is what helped me. I constantly talked with my son about the outings we were going to during the day (with no baby talk) just reminding him of what we're are doing and when we did arrive somewhere I would go through our purpose of the trip, visit to store, or etc while he sat in his car seat. Going over our purpose while also reminding him there will be no crying, throwing himself on floor, asking for things, and whining or else we will leave immediately and have no fun looking at stuff or doing. So I probably reiterated the conversation 3 or 4 times to him while he sat in his car seat and after ever statement saying to him, Do you understand? 😊 I know it's tedious and it doesn't work immediately but stick to it and keep your word on the "or else and we will leave immediately phrase" eventually they will get it and know momma means her word. Good communication always is best. Love your videos!! Safe driving and your in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs. ❤❤🎉🎉 😊
Sadie so cute and gets smarter by the minute. We parents and grandparents know that she has her moments. Don’t we all. Thanks for sharing this grand adventure with us. I know you enjoyed a day away from videos. I know I speak for all of us though when I say we look forward to your video each day. We will be going through withdrawal when you finish this adventure and go back to your weekly or biweekly videos. Lol 🤗❤️
So happy to see you having such a wonderful time in Death Valley. Maybe Sadie is a Desert Gal, loving the warm, dry air. You are the best parents and Sadie is accumulating so many beautiful memories . Her dreams will always be full of happy times with her Mom and Dad. Blessings always.
She’s not in school she’s living the life right now !man thanks for sharing all these places for me I’m in heaven watching this avenger just love it…Sadie is going to be so advanced compared to other children I love her life…. I would’ve given my 2boys this life if I had this in my life hands down… I find u two amazing parents
None of us are perfect , Sadie is so much joy to watch and the way she says things, she takes after you she sings and so lovely to watch so thanks for sharing 👍❤
Green square can of Bag Balm for your lips. Used it my whole 54 years. Keeps cow udders soft & smooth & your lips & feet the same!!! Try it. You’ll never want to be without it again. Good for scrapes too. Little ones. Love you guys so much! Will pray for Sadie to get her 2nd wind for the adventure!! From Oregon with ♥️ Jessica
So, I've been a subscriber for awhile now and don't usually leave a comment but I wanted you guys to know how special you all are. I always enjoy ur videos and feel the love and happiness in the 3 of you. Makes me smile and laugh on every video so thanks so much for the happiness you share with us! Love you all!❤😊
I never got that excited visiting there! Beautiful place. Make sure to fill tank up before entering. We received a Christmas miracle from the only gas station in there opening up Xmas morning and don't waste your time driving to Nevada as we did for gas. We slept at the gas station over night with only fumes left and froze out asses off. Original Star Wars filmed there, some scenes. Do not ever walk through those areas of cracks in mountains if a chance of rain. Be prepared for coyotes etc and snakes.
Omg the piggy tails are so so cute. I’m used to the curled up mess she’s usually sporting- just like me lol !!! And I appreciate and so will she that some things just don’t need to be shared and that’s just plain ole good parenting!! Thanks for another fantastic vlog
Getting spoiled seeing you everyday. It’s a super deal for us. Living in the moment and mile by mile. Wherever you go there you are! Thanks for this tour.
I always love how you guys really value and appreciate the small things, like a sunset or the beauty of the landscape, or Sadie singing a song, etc. And you do it with such joy that you make us joyful and appreciative too. What a great trip you're taking us on. Thanks for sharing it.
Yes, Death Valley is one of our favorites as well.. We have driven the eastern sierras on 395 S. many times since we live in Nevada and they had our children running through the Sandune’s just like your family, but it is nasty hot there in the summer..!! Interestingly, the highest peak in the continental United States, Mount Whitney, is just to the west of death Valley💕
Omg, Sadies pony tails are too cute!! 😍 just like her!!! Y'all are awesome! I uavebeen following u for years and u never cease to amaze me!! I absolutely love your channel and you!! Thank you!! God Bless you all!🙏
On another note... your narration & commentary. Have been integral in your quality assessment to date & so far... THIS IS AN AMAZING ADVENTURE!!! Thx for the ride ;- ]
No matter where you were or what you might be doing, Sadie will go through developmental milestones. Why not give her adventures during those milestones!! Remind yourself of your comments about giving her opportunities to adapt. Well done!! (Mom of 3 adult kids with some developmental challenges)
You are such a good mom! Sadie is so lucky to travel and see the US. The way you speak to her and include her in on every conversation shows in her advanced speaking and thought process for such a young age. Safe travels on the second half of your trip. Totally enjoying these videos! Gonna be hard to go back to bi weekly video 😁😊
If I was a two year old sitting in a car seat half of the time I’d have meltdowns also. I haven’t watched your show long, but a two year old needs to run and play throughout their day. This is a wonderful experience for adults but children won’t remember the experience your enjoying. I sympathize with all of you. Sorry if I’m missing something here. As I said, I’m new to your program. (I’ve followed Trent and Alley for quite awhile now that’s how I found your videos. :)
Jordan one year I can’t tell you what year it was I lived in Nevada and that year there was so much rain in death Valley it was the first time in 100 years that a special flower grew out in that desert and so many people went out there that whole desert was full of flowers. We’re enjoying your journey guys thanks for who you guys are
The terrible twos was always my favorite time with my kids! Their little personalities REALLY emerging and they are discovering they are a separate person and so try to push that individualism.
We took our kids on a lot of road trips over the years. We all had a blast! They don't remember some of the early trips. We liked to back road, and our big RV was too big.
Sadie has been such a trooper on this journey,it's ok for for a meltdown!!!! she's like her momma and dad,she stands tall and move on.Love you guys, stay safe
🦋 I was a nursery, school teacher of that age group for many years, and I never referred to them as the terrible twos they’re learning to assert themselves they put the fight with the action. You got the right idea that’s what you’ve always done you’ll pull things out of your Barney bag and you’ll get through it just like you got you everything else with her you guys are creative.
I'm so glad you guys do not share Sadie having a melt-down, or her tough times. The internet is forever - and it wouldn't be fair to her. Good parenting!
Agreed
Amen
Yes, ages 2 and 3 are the "NO" stage of toddlerhood. It's normal and actually part of her establishing her autonomy.
She’s a very normal child, as far as that goes being two, but she’s also extremely advanced for her age. You should be proud that she’s making decisions already because she’s a smart young lady. You are great at discerning what to share and what to be discreet about, way to go ❤
I have been teaching Pre-Kindergarten for over 20 years, and I think you are providing Sadie with so many opportunities to learn both academically and socially and emotionally. She's going to have many great days, but the tough days also good too; it teaches her how to deal with her emotions and you have such a rare opportunity of both her Mother and Father being there together helping her navigate her feelings. Sadie is a very smart and sweet little girl. You two are doing great ❤

Sadie is learning how to navigate big emotions, she’s lucky she has y’all to guide her and help her understand them ❤️
I felt like two was much better wiser than three with both of the kiddos. Then it was smooth sailing until 12! Puberty 😂

❤ great parents. Sadie peeling the carrots was awesome!!!

That rest stop was awesome! One thing I started with my 2 yr olds was countdown. When we had to change locations I would say 5 minutes till we (fill in the blank) 4 min, 3, etc. No abrupt changes. Gives them some control.
Does it?
I don't think control is the right word but do understand that It gives them a chance to be involved in the change and time to process that we will be leaving also when doing the count down let her know where the next amazing and excited place you will be traveling to.
Agreed giving toddlers a 5 min notice of when you are leaving very helpful; as well as setting expectations of what is going to happen on arrival esp grocery stores ( can they get a toy or candy etc) - anything to help them w transitions
You all look rested and well. Good you took a break and rejuvenated. Death Valley is awesome, ty for taking us!
Seems tough there.
The “break” was one day.....!
Doing this is not bad for Sadie... no way... what an educational adventure🎉🎉🎉🎉. Ohhh... nice to see you back❤
Life is the best educator.
If she'll remember it. She's very young
@shac9131 she has videos to take her as back as her birthday.
@@yolanda5543 I've seen many videos and pictures from when I was a kid and I don't remember it besides a few things and just a glimpse. And a kid and teenager is not going to watch videos of them growing up because they have life to experience. A kid would only be interested every once in an eon.
Dittos!! 100%
Yes, NO chapstick!!!
I second coconut oil for everything!
Wait, are you allergic to all oil? Or just coconut oil? If all oils, then look into bees wax for lip balm.
What a life gift to be able to parent Sadie in a way that gives both of you so much time with her.
Hello Kaley, Jordan, and Sadie;
You folks are doing wonderfully well with everything!
Hugs to all
Take care
God Bless
Linda in Canada

What about Vancouver?
Have FUN!
We did the trip with a pup tent!
Sadie is having a grand adventure!!
Hello to you all! In our family we call it the Terrific Twos! May you all continue to be blessed!!
I just can't with Sadie's pigtails...cuteness overload! 💟
Yayyyy! Welcome back y’all! 🎉 everyone needs a recharge every now n then!
Let’s get this channel to 500k. You make such good videos. I’m hooked
OMGosh! Those tiny pig tails are just too much! 💖 You guys are amazing parents with an amazing kid to prove it!
Spring and fall are the best times to visit Death Valley. It is freezing in the winter, and broiling in the summer. You hit it just right. So much fun to see Sadie hiking along with you.
Thank you for sharing the wonders of the desert! ...and can we just marvel for a minute at how cute those pigtails are? Love you guys!
As part of my daughter's degree in geology, she spent many field trips in Death Valley. We've camped all over on our own trips before then, from the highest camps to the most remote. We love and respect the desert, anywhere in California. Yes, she is a fourth generation Californian. I love this state, and every part of it.
In Death Valley, there used to be
A place called, Calico Ghost Mine. Its closed now .
My son goes out there to dirt bike ride and take their Polaris vehicle and rv .
Just loving Sadie's ponytails. What a different it makes. She is growing up very quickly. And learning in her own way. Just go with the flow. Not long then she will be starting school. Regards 🇿🇦.
Cape Town?
I bet she home schools
ADVICE
When traveling the road of life
One must remember this:
It doesn't matter pain or strife
Or embodiment of bliss...
It only matters how you go
Through every winding turn...
How You live who you love and everything you learn.
So find and ride the path you choose
Till heartbeats nevermore.
One precious moment's not to lose
Is what we travel for.
I was sooo proud of her and her dad because he followed my way of thinking when it came to this subject…
Move forward several years to an ex, we stayed friends, wouldn’t listen to me when he had a new baby, to stop saying NO! 😱🤭😂🤣
I am so excited to follow your adventure. Enjoy the moments, and the miles will be worth it. ❤
Wonderful adventures!!! 🥰❤️🇨🇦🙏🙏🙏
Death Valley is magical! A good time to visit again is early spring when the hills on the outside of the desert are covered with wild flowers.
Vaseline is the best for lips. I’m a motorcycle rider and anything with perfumes or flavours caused more issues until I started to use Vaseline. Lol
Carmex has camphor
Yes, my preference is Mentholatum!
Everything besides Vaseline makes my lips worse. I hate using petroleum based products but it helps seal the cracks so they can repair themselves.
Burts 👍
There’s better options than either chapstick or Vaseline!! 😆
Love you guys
I haven’t been to Death Valley since I was very little. I was there with my parents, I’m now in my 70’s so thank you for letting me revisit.❤😊
U guys r amazing parents, love watching u all ,Sadie us so sweet and smart little girl ❤
Come park in our field in Mancos Colorado. We would love to have you!!!
None of us are perfect , Sadie is so much joy to watch and the way she says things, she takes after you she sings and so lovely to watch so thanks for sharing 👍❤
Even Death Valley is beautiful through your eyes. Thank you.
love to meet you guys!
Love you all!❤😊
Your timing for Death Valley was perfect. The roads opened Oct 15. And the hurricane left a lake behind at the basin.
When I was young my parents moved us from NY to California and then back to NY. All that traveling and adventure was some of my greatest memories.
Excellent video!! Cherish these days with Sadie, life will never get simpler and sweeter than these.
Cherish the days 👍
3:42 what a beautiful description...I'm going to assume you mean fuzzy side against skin because I know your a pure heart.
Thank you for Death Valley. It was my husbands favorite spot in the desert ! Good memories.
We’re enjoying your journey guys thanks for who you guys are
Children are so much more adaptable then we adults. It is a blessing that Sadie has been invited in to her parents dreams. How thrilling.
The terrible twos was always my favorite time with my kids! Their little personalities REALLY emerging and they are discovering they are a separate person and so try to push that individualism.
Sadie looks so adorable with pig-tails! 😍
Breathtaking scenery! Thank you for sharing! I enjoy watching how attentive you are to Sadie’s needs❤.
I always called them the terrific twos ......you got this lil mamma 💚💚💚💚
We took our kids on a lot of road trips over the years. We all had a blast! They don't remember some of the early trips. We liked to back road, and our big RV was too big.
Thanks for sharing a world I probably will never see. It’s all so beautiful ! Sadie is doing great!
Sadie has been such a trooper on this journey,it's ok for for a meltdown!!!! she's like her momma and dad,she stands tall and move on.Love you guys, stay safe
Aloha you two, time stamp 6:54 mentioning the awesome coffee. Mahalos, Jesse Lora
this is the series of all series. Just LOVING coming along on a virtual road trip with you guys, especially when I live in Australia. TYSVM. 👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
