The adidas POD-S3.1 is the latest sneaker model with Boost from adidas, but is it worth yout $130 or not? Let's discuss!
Pros:
Style
Comfort - better than NMD imo

Why no Boost in Forefoot?
While it looks great IMO, I dont understand the concept, POD is like a really big Torsion system? for lifestyle why do we need this? Feels like this could be integrated with a running shoe better?
Colorway on released pair is meh. In the right colorway however this can be nice Imo.
Adidas has dont a minimalist sneaker over and over, would be nice to see something more (Like Nike has done with the React Element)
We want layers, we want better colorblocking.
The release of this didnt seem well thought out, for all the marketing, the release came and went and pairs stayed in the same place.
So why haven't you tried these yet? Too much $? Not innovative enough? too similar to what you have? colorway? leave a comment!
Is it worth buying IMO? I would say it depends! if you have the $ and you love the Ultra Boost and NMD and Pure boost, these are a great comfortable alternative! If you can only cop 1 pair of sneakers though per year, and only have $130, you can probably get some better deals on sneakers that are on sale. As a fan of adidas boost products however I like these! They have a different look on feet that I dig, I just cant wait to see if they actually make some good colorways in the future.

@@TheKillerZmile 3.2 means that it is model number 2 while still maintaining the 3 system of Boost on heel, TPU Plastic on middle as the bridge and EVA Foam on the forefoot. Hence, it is called POD-S3.2
Hi Hes, you pointed out my biggest frustration with Adidas. The models are great but their color departement has to make some big steps.

the boost kinda reminds me of the air max 270 because it wraps around your heel and cradles it in a similar way that the 270's air max unit does.

the "POD System" is from the mid 90s. pretty obscure shoe. may have been 2 models, that would explain this being the 3.1. I'm going to guess adidas plans to do more w/ the silhouette down the line. perhaps we'll see a 3.5 or whatever w/ full length Boost. companies like to hold the best stuff back so they have a new version to sell in the future.
the POD provides no real advantage. they just chose it for aesthetic purposes. its a different look

The elasticized band over the tongue also functions as a lace holder for someone that doesn’t want the laces flopping around or to keep them out of the way during activities (ie riding a bike and keeping them away from the chain and chainring).
I copped these day one and they feel great! Unique look too. I also have an Airmax 270 but I prefer the edgy look of the POD. 😁
Just copped the white colorway today. This was not on my radar at all but once I tried it on I was very impressed by the on feet look and the overall comfort of the shoe. The actual shoe looks much better than the photo and Hes is right that it is more comfy than NMD and Pureboost. Highly recommended.
They will never replace the nmd, nmd is a classic. It obviously doesn’t sell out fast anymore and a lot of colors are on shelves but that’s cause they release a ton of color ways with all different models but that’s cool with me, before it was hard to get but now it is available to anyone who wants them. They still make and release the r1 which imo will always be releasing cause the r1 is just a classic. Even tho they keep trying to update the nmd with new names and features, the r1 will always be here.
Andy Ham POD replaces it by a mile. It’s the same price, more comfortable and you can feel the boost. It’s a new model, and it’s not heavily played out. Not many people wear it now so you’ll be more unique. The NMD is dead.
Nmd a classic?? Lol
I wouldn’t say NMD is a classic series from Adidas, but I do enjoy having less boost as sometimes it feels kinda wobbly wearing ultraboosts. NMD are comfy as they for everyday use, but I think from Adidas it’s gonna be the Ultraboost(or Yeezys) that suits the classic performance/lifestyle shoes. Real classic sneakers are the All-Stars.

I was walking like 15-20 kms a day when i was wearing those daily. I got a bone growing on the sides in the place of the missing part. They were so comfortable i didn't want to believe they are the reason but my feet are deformed forever after those shoes ...

This was leaked before nike ever mentioned the 270. Since last year we knew about the P.O.D. I assume the P.O.D was in production first.

This show was impossible to buy in Canada. I ended up buying from a UK website at the beginning of the year. For me, this colourway was the best and I absolutely love the shoe. It's comfortable, great colourway and it looks freakin' awesome.
I own two pairs and one of them is way more comfortable. One pair is lilac blue and the other is multicolor, I've never seen a review or anyone ever mention the other pair the multi color one, the materials used in that pair are absolutely amazing quality and very streachy.
That extra wide food comment and the bridge kinda hurting your foot is something I feel with every NMD and the lego bricks
I bought them when they first came out extremely comfortable very breathable and the grip is very good also durable but the boost part will begin tearing slightly if you move sharply. 8/10 I recommend it
I just got the red ones today on sale for 60 bucks. Seriously, this is a complete steal. I do think they’re super comfortable, there are things I like more than the NMD, but what I do like more about the NMD is the less pointy tip. I love both though
When you get the white boost dirty its so hard to clean it. Keeping it clean is the only problem

Hey Hes, that lime green plate is a big Torsion system. Also the EVA foam at the forefoot is supposed to compliment the Boost on heel with every step. :)

Look like the first gen Adidas Solar Boost that had boost in the heel too and where and still are the most comfortable boost shoes I have tried.

These are my favorite shoes I own right now, way more comfy than my nmds. They are more durable bc of the rubber, and they are comfy af.
I like these a lot more than I thought I would since I bought them. I feel like it is a slightly cheaper material used especially around the lace holes than I would like but it’s a cool start.

I LOVE the color way and love the look, the Green/Blue/Black combo definitely makes me think of a futuristic-color scheme, almost like I would expect to see this shoe in a futuristic-movie or even in games like "Jet Set Radio Future". Didn't buy because the half-ass boost commitment was pretty lame because you know they tried to save money on production with the bunk rubber in the front half. Haven't purchased because I have plenty of other shoes that I still have to wear.
I think the reason why adidas didn’t put boost all the way is because it would be more expensive. I think $130 is pretty good compared to other recent boosts
I ended picking up a pair from stock-x for $85. I’m pretty excited for them and glad I was able to get them for less then retail.
I just got a pair of these in the new red colourway and i like them! They aren’t my UB’s but for almost half of the price (atleast in Canada...kids UB is $210-240 depending on model and POD is $140). It’s been a good shoe to throw into my rotation of mostly UB’s. I think it would also be a good introductory shoe for someone who wants boost but doesnt want to shell out the money just yet (or isnt comfortable buying online with the deals to be had on the Adi website from time to time).
I own a pair of the "clear orange" color way. I'm a big fan of gaudy colors and goofy looking shoes. I do like how you do not see them everywhere. I would rate the comfort as slightly less than ultraboost. Some of the colors are going for $100 on the Adidas website. The price adjustment makes this model one that I would highly recommend.
I love mine, colorway is simple but dope. It’s probably one of my favorite new models. The comfortable reminds me of a Nike 270 but a tad better because of the boost.
Side Note, I really want another pair so I need more colorways!
i think the boost at the back is for people who have heavy heel.. which boost really is the best cushion. would dig that shoe
They’re allmost worth buying for me. I love the design and colorway, i can even get over the styrofoam heel part of the midsole but i’d like a less flimsy toebox without my toes sticking out, maybe add a mudguard..
For me, the only reason I'm hesitant is the color way. 'Blah' is exactly right. Also I am eagerly waiting for the boosted ZXs that are coming. I'm a big ZX fan, I have so many ZXs and I always wanted boosted ZXs, so I might wait on those and skip the PODs for now, unless they come out with some crazy colors.
I love this new silhouette, but the only reason I haven't purchased it yet is because i know it'll eventually go on sale. Every Adidas shoe seems to get a deep discount nowadays, so once it goes to like $80/90, i'll pull the trigger.

Definitely agree, own these, some r1 pk's and some ultraboost 20s, I'd say its halfway between the two in terms of comfort, the upper is nice and stretchy and the foam at the front is surprisingly soft so I'm not mad it's not boost

I used these shits as daily running shoes for 4 years and only today did my right one's heel boost material come off. 4 years for the $70 that I got them at was the best shoe value I've ever had under super hard and heavy wear.
I just got a pair for around 45€ (200pln) really excited
This shoe reminds me of the Nike Air Max 270 as the technology is only in the heel and the rest is foam, both look pretty futuristic and both are hella comfortable and they are both made for lifestyle

I’m pretty sure Nomad for the NMDs referenced walking or constant movement, which seemed pretty clear to me.
I like the shoe, but it's just not my favorite colorway.
The mesh looks very similar to the Tubular Rise as does the elastic band. The Tubular Rise has a similar band, but around the heel.

Just bought a pair of these today. i believe they just dropped new colorways. I picked up the cloud whites and i think they look a lot better than this colorway
I didn't buy them until now because I didn't know they existed, In the Netherlands they didn't make commercials about these shoes and today i found out about these shoes and this same evening i bought them (they were only €70 instead of €120) but I just fell in love of the colours and stuff so now i just have to wait till they arrive because they didn't have my size so i ordered them

Been obese for a long time a lot of the sneaker could not handle my weight specially when I did exercise they broke on short amount of time . These kept of up with the whole journey of loosimg weight without even a crie.

I think its almost like an adidas version of the 270 with the heel cushion and stiffer forefoot

bought them 2 days ago (I know I'm late) and the boost feels really good and the front too while it is not as soft once walking it doesn't feel that hard

Not TTS for me. Im normally 8.5us for UBs and all other Adidas models, im only 8us for PODS. Happy with them tho!
I have both pure boost and POD and I can say the POD is more comfortable and honestly looks better and the price is cheaper

Nice review! I like the overall design. The segmented sole à la Reebok Instapump Fury feels techy yet not too overwhelming, the colors work pretty well too... I just thought the materials felt kinda cheap.
A good looking shoes, but not an instant cop.
I bought these ones and are more comfortable than Pure Boost 2017 and Pure boost go. I Like more than some of my Yeezys
Does the upper have good support?
I have deerupts and the upper of it is very flimsy and has almost no support

Got these yesterday and used it the whole day today. I have an issue with the heel support (or lack thereof). It doesn't hug the heel cup as tight as my other shoes and so it slides up and down very slightly. Not enough for it to slip out of the shoe but enough to be annoying.

I personally think these compare to ultraboost when it comes to comfort, it feels super comfy, snugs around my foot. And recently adidas are coming out with better color ways
The point of deflection means they put the boost where you only need it boost. The ball of your foot. It takes so much damage. Without a good cushion under there you can developers plantar fasciitis.
These remind me of an updated reebok insta pump fury. Similar midsole concept, the pod plate is similar to the graphite plate in the fury's. I feel the fury's look way better. Too bad boost couldn't be added to the insta pumps since adidas owns reebok. Great review as always! God bless you and yours.

I find these more comfortable then the nmds and xr1 the boost is thic asf and def a comfy shoe
I bought these in Greece for like 55 $ so thats a really good deal! Its comfy and everything although i saw that you should buy it a lil bit bigger than your shoe size which i think is a good idea cause as the video says the shoes are a lil bit narrow to the sides!

I got the red ones with an all white sole. Gotta day, they’re super fresh. Got them for 55 bucks about two months ago. Unfortunately for them, I just got my ultra boost 4.0 NYCs yesterday, so they got kicked out of my main shoe spot.
