Thanks so much! And yes, I can imagine how much you would enjoy this field. I'm going to send you a couple of photos via Instagram DM so you can see a portrait shoot I did here, if you're ever near Texas in the spring, you would love this field and our bluebonnet (lupine) fields!
I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos. I really like your style. You do really great work. That shot with the lady beetle capturing that aphid was spot on. Keep ‘em coming.
Thank you very much, I'm so glad you are enjoying my channel. I love making these, I think my next video will be released tomorrow if I can finish it today :) Have a great day!
Thank you for the nice comment, it amazes me how such delicate flowers can withstand weeks of windy and rainy conditions and still be so pretty. I hope I can see them again this year :) Have a great week!
Hi! Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you like the channel, I'm hoping to post new videos soon. The Moment lens is great as well as the Olloclip set, they are the top 2 brands and I really enjoy them. I hope you have fun out there! :D
Thanks so much, Charne! Haha, the ladybug eating an aphid was over a minute long. Initially, I kept it in and then decided to cut most of it... kind of gross! But yeah, I love them and love taking pictures of them. Glad you enjoyed watching :)
Excellent video Liesl. You present the information beautifully in a quiet, peaceful manner. The way nature is meant to be viewed. I have been searching for a channel that combines both mobile and dslr photography. Thank you.
Yes, you're right! That would have been a great experiment. I'll have to wait till next year :D As I was editing the video I kept seeing things that I wished I had noticed when I was there... so many possibilities and I focused on just one thing LOL I've been wanting to update my review for these lenses, so trying to use them lots so I know what I'm talking about, ha!
Claudinchenchen, yes they mowed the field. It just becomes weeds and invasive grasses overtake everything after those wildflowers wither. We only have wildflowers in the spring for a few weeks and few low growing wildflowers in autumn. The rest of the time just mowed grass 😆
Right! Shutter speed needs to be 1/8000 sec Hahaa! We just kept having windy day after windy day, that or rain, so I figured I'd just get out there anyway and see what happens, turns out I liked a lot of the pictures. Those you quoted are my favorites too!
Wow what a beautiful video Leisl and your macro images are superb 👌 I’ve watched a few mobile phone macro videos on RUclips but what makes yours stand out from the rest is your passion, which definitely comes out through your images and your narration. Have a great day tomorrow. Cliff
Thank you, Cliff. I do enjoy it very much and I think I still have that same amazement at what I get to see through the lens as I did when I first started, that probably helps. Thanks, we're traveling south 5 hours to San Antonio for the long weekend, excited about that and hope we get to see some fireworks tomorrow :)
Those wildflowers and poppies blowing in the wind are a sight to behold! Just lovely. Is that wildflower farm? I never imagined that one could take such wonderful macro images with a cell phone. I think your images are great, a good mix of in focus elements with out of elements. I long ago learned to embrace whatever the weather holds and adapt my photography to the elements when I am out and about. Try some ICM, which stands for intentional camera movement. That would work nicely with all those wildflowers. You could also try slow exposures during wind movement and that could produce beautiful impressionist images for you. About 1-2 seconds is plenty. Too much blur can also ruin an image. Anyway, really like your work and your narrative and enthusiasm. So keep up the the good work. So much joy in this video! JR
JMR JMR, this is a field near my home, so not a farm, but the area is maintained by the city so that it’s safe for the residents to roam around. ICM would be a great experiment in this field for sure, I’ll have to try next year when the wildflowers are back in the spring. Thank you for your nice comments, I’m glad you enjoyed the video :)
This was stunning x So beautifully shot, edited and the music choice is spot on. Did you use your phone to shoot all of the footage or was the video using a camera? Thank you so much for the time and trouble that has gone into this x
Thank you so much, Alison! Some of the video is shot with my phone and some of it with a small Canon (G7X ii) camera, so far I've been recording video on auto settings, but I want to start taking my time and control the exposure better and the white balance. It's been fun making these, hoping to do more soon :)
Great vid Liesl, thanks for upload. Interested to know if you do all your macro work via smartphone? Especially like your dewdrop images, also the cornflower looks really cool!
Hi, John! Thanks for the comment :) I also use a 100mm macro lens for my DSLR and some of my videos have photos from using that lens. Granted those aren't always true macro, mostly just close-up shots. I started with my smartphone and have never been able to give it up, I thoroughly enjoy taking photos with it, especially macro images. The video I'm working on next will have lots of shots with both phone and DSLR, the project has been a little overwhelming and it's taking a bit of time to finish it up :) Do you do macro photography as well?
That's too bad, I wish there was a universal attachment system for all phones. There are some apps like Camera+ that have a macro feature, you could use that without a lens if the app will work on your phone. It just zooms in closer to your subject, I tried it in the past with an older iPhone and liked the results. There may be other apps by now that I haven't yet seen too.
ABCD12345 Hi! In this video I used my iPhone with macro lenses for phones by “Moment” and “Olloclip” but I have other videos where I use a Canon 100mm 2.8L macro lens. You can get very nice closeups with a 50mm but you’re right, unless it is designed to be a macro lens, you can’t get close enough for macro. It is possible to get extension tubes, or closeup filter rings that attach in the front of your lens, or a snap on macro lens like one by Raynox that can fit in the front of your lens. But for all of these you have to make sure they are compatible with your specific lens :)
Hi, I'm not sure which is the best in India, as long as you can find one compatible with your phone, then any of them should work fine, the more expensive lenses will typically be much better than cheap ones. I hope this helps :)
I love your iPhone Videos with the macro lens.
Beautiful video and images. 👏
You are awesome
Oh, finally i find a photography channel that showing real nature macrophotography 😍 i'm gonna fall in love with this channel 😍
Thanks! It's a beautiful world and lots of fun to look at everything close up :D
Wow!
Stunning as usual Liesl
Thanks, John! Hope you've been having a good week!
No doubt your shots are wonderful many thanks to you
So nice of you, thank you!
I really enjoy watching your videos!
I appreciate that, they are fun to make so even if just a few people enjoy watching, it makes me glad. Thanks for the nice comments :)
Love it! I would die to shoot in a field like this

One more subscriber here. Lovely lovely pictures.
Thank you!
Totally in awe of your beautiful photography. Do you ever use extension tubes for your macro work?
Beautiful photos, and a great video for advice, thank you 😊

Your videos are working like a meditation for me.. 😌 Learning so many different things while enjoying beautiful creations of nature! Thanks so much!
This is so nice of you to say, it makes me very glad to know these are helpful. Thank you!
What a good channel! Really love to see how you use the moment len to take the macro photo. I am considering to buy this len now!

I'll be home in 22 days - cant wait for that clean texas air and skies : ) that olloclip looks to hold up pretty well too
Hi, Noe :) Hope you get here after the heatwave has passed :) Just another typical summer, but we've been staying indoors a lot.
@@LieslHuddleston Well I'm from the RGV, right by the border and it's usually a heatwave year round =p
Wow, just wow! Such beautiful blooms, could not choose a favourite, and the ladybugs are adorable ;-) LOVED this!

Thank you, Dewright for your thoughtful comment ♡ I hope you're able to enjoy some time outside with your camera this weekend :)
Nice video, nice photos! This meadow and this wind would be perfect for some slow motion shots ;-)

@@LieslHuddleston Hopefully, this failure will not make you sleep badly ;-) Did they mow the flower meadow, because you have to wait so long?

Bedankt, Maria! Your kind comments always make me smile! :)
I hate windy days 😄 it is only helpful if you want moving clouds.
At 2:16 and 4:22 are amazing.

You take such beautiful photos! So glad you enjoy the 21x macro lens. :)
Thank you very much! I'm excited to go on a nature walk on Thursday morning when the temperatures are a little cooler and use these lenses again :)

I tried an attachment on my moto 5, but it liked about a 1/8 inch getting to the lens.
