Acting vindicated by putting Toney on in the 94th minute encapsulates how deluded Southgate is right now. If Bellingham doesn’t score that wonder goal, the game would have ended without Toney touching the ball. No wonder he had the hump!
That is the first time they were behind in this tournament, and they came back, this is a good step for many of the young guys who haven't much experience in the team. Keep the glass half full.
@@ANTREU96 you've got 2 years after after July to be negative , why not be optimistic for 2 more weeks? Gonna regret it if they get the job done . Think of Portugal in 2016!
Premier league teams are also failing in Europe. The England national team is also a failure. If it wasn't for Arab and Russian capital, maybe England would be a 3rd class country in the football world today. The reasons for the lack of high level talented players and coaches in these lands should be questioned...
It feels me with a certain confused pride?? that Gareth played that off like it was all part of the plan, like he planned a 95min long throw/knock on/overhead kick combo as per his genius tactics.
Trippier, like I have said is our main weakness.Him and Walker have been our worst players in the tournament, that too I've said numerous times. They shouldn't be our full backs from now on,to old,to slow, out of form.3-4-3 next game to cover our defence and best player being out.
Relief- A feeling of relaxation and reassurance following anxiety and distress. Maybe partial relief is what I'm feeling then, because I don't feel particularly reassured about the future.
I want Eng to do well, I lost my voice for the end of the match after the equaliser but I cant ignore the previous 90 odd mins. There was no urgency or game plan and we were incredibly lucky. I was a Southgate apologist before this tournament but his decisions are just baffling. Unless he changes things we will be found out - and we all know he wont change things. My big worry is he continues after this tournament and if he gets to the semis your have people saying look at his record while completely ignoring the run of fixtures and the way he cant get the best out of quality players.
I think deep down the players don’t have confidence in the set up and instructions, hence why they fall back and defend. Time for the players to tell Southgate and Holland how they will win the tournament.
A small proportion of people defending that England performance on social media. England were really poor. Southgate is giving Gordon the Grealish treatment of a couple of years ago, where fans were desperate to see him play and Southgate was having non of it. I'll be backing Switzerland to win by 2
Lampard shot was supposed to be an equaliser against Germany and probably would have been in VAR era. Bellingham is England generational talent but i hate to said that..
@@ronnyron4681 it's VAR so there probably was a tiny foul somewhere in the build-up to that Lampard's ghost goal. I agree that Bellingham is a huge talent, no doubt about it.
He doesn’t use 5 subs though. The first sun was 66 min and then Toney came on 86 minute. He’s not rotating the squad for fitness, which is another worry amongst many
We were kind of unlucky with our chances. The problem is that a team of that talent shouldn't be in a position where luck can decide the outcome of that game.
This is not what the term 'they find a way to win' was meant for. I'm a liverpool fan and it started to be abused with them initially. It was intended for beating teams when you are generally the underdog. Not for against teams that on paper and rankings are well below you.
Looking forward to Gareth trotting out exactly the same starting line-up after this unmitigated success.
This is going to be one hell of a story is he somehow stinks his way to the trophy.
Guehi & trippier are out, so it’s not goin to be exactly the same team isit ?!

Finally the return of "eaaaaaassssssayyyyy". We might be crap but got to have a bit of fun with it.
I've spent years listening to the boys on spotify and this is the first time I've put faces to those familiar voices! 😂
Great job guys, this is my go to football podcast now

Unless something suddenly clicked for England Switzerland will make quick work of GS's squad.

Loving the start of the episode. Pretty much summed us all up.
Thanks for appreciating how great the moment was. A lot of podcasts have just gone straight to the negative

you can say what you want, what a terrible performance that was - absolute luck they still made it in the end!

We need to change up the set piece takers. Foden just isn't it. Also it has the Saka at LWB vibe right now ngl.
Trippier and Walker have been absolutely atrocious the whole tournament
A huge amount of luck and 2 seconds of brilliance is not a plan, it did not work.
Foden's tap-in was supposed to be an equaliser and probably would have been in a pre-VAR era. Bellingham ruined a generational hatewatch

emotional physical tiredness does not come in when you have used five substitutes

It doesn't count as a shot on target, neither do blocked shots.
