Great Video. I moved to the area last year from New York thinking I was moving to paradise. Hardly. Love the architecture but the unfriendliness of the people is shocking. I'm moving back to New York with the New Year, and can't wait.
OUCH!!!!! Turning your back on warm west coast winters for the frigid east coast means Palm Springs *really* did a number on you! Were I a people person this place would have sent me packing too. FAST. Good luck on your move - I'm sending you non-snobby good juju.
@@CatEyesAndCacti Its only frigid for maybe a month or two with breaks in between. That heat and threat of water scarcity and lack of variety. I do love the look and when it is just cold and grey and damp Palm Springs looks good.
I wouldn’t mind living there, that is my kind of architecture, but I don’t know about the heat, I’d probably melt, but it would be better than the snow! 💙💜💛
That is exactly one reason that baffles me - don't want tourists snapping photos? Don't live in a resort town that banks on being image based! The style and artificiality are what draw everyone in. So to live here and be bothered by constant admiration is is odd. There are plenty of gated communities that are private throughout the desert, the bitter Betties in this particular neighborhood simply enjoy being miserable. It's that simple and very strange. As a resident I can tell you with certainty that it is the *only* neighborhood where people are outwardly and blatantly unfriendly.
Good question! I would say the most exclusive classic neighborhood is Las Palmas and the most exclusive contemporary neighborhood would be Desert Palisades.
If only I could. Trouble is I bet there is a "WANTED: Spooky Girl Outlaw in Glittery Boots" flyer being circulated at the neighborhood clubhouse. I expect a poison dart to come flying out at me from behind a breeze block wall one of these days....
First visit to PS was in `61....go to Smoketree Village shopping center,Ralphs market in particular to see canyon resident celebs shopping...they gotta get out and shop sometime..and there they are..
Oh I bet. Of course I wouldn't now them if I spotted them. Palm Springs is a great place to be anonymous these days - it was absolutely the opposite back in the '60s that's for sure.
You're right - jerks shouldn't shock me they exist EVERYWHERE. Most people who are happy to be blessed enough to live here enjoy every bit of it. Some folks just enjoy being miserable for the sake of it. Sad but true. C'est la vie! Cheers from Palm Springs 🍸🌵🌴
Agreed. Lawn heads here in Palm Springs are stodgy, traditional, and afraid of change. Desert landscaping is ✨ FABULOUS ✨ but the fear of change is too much. C'est la vie. Hopefully they'll come around eventually.....
That's OK. You can say it's staunchly conservative as in political ideology even PBS a bastion of liberal media is staunchly conservative when it comes to raising money for its stations. Especially here in Dallas. One of the most pretentious cities in America Why should Palm Springs be any different
Overall I would say no - it's not. This city is essentially one large, moneyed California gayborhood which makes it so stylish and fun to live in. Our neighboring cities of Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and Palm Desert however are a different story. Those can be staunchly traditional/conservative - to a fault - for sure. Different strokes for different folks. Palm Springs is where it's at ✨🍸
Can’t wait to hang out with you, girl when we move there there! Like steel magnolias says if you can’t say anything nice about anyone come sit by me!
Ice bucket is on standby!
I love your take on life and your videos are scrumptious!
Glad you are enjoying the videos - thank you 🌵🌴

New Yorks great....Are you from NYC or the state? I'm from L.A and am moving to Palm Springs for work. I'll be there at least a year.

More unfriendly than New York?

Have visited twice and was not impressed. Lots of homeless people and just not my thing.
I wouldn’t mind living there, that is my kind of architecture, but I don’t know about the heat, I’d probably melt, but it would be better than the snow! 💙💜💛
The heat can definitely be a bit much! I'm too much of a crybaby when it comes to cold weather.
The houses are designed for the heat. And just go shopping at night
They're probably sick of strangers just lurking around outside and taking pictures. Also, they have their social circles and know everyone to talk to.

Have you done the video on your favorite neighborhood in Palm Springs yet?
I have not....a "Top 3" is in order down the road I think.
Thank you!
Thank YOU for hangin' out

What are your Fav neighborhoods?
Hey Cat Eyes….What is the MOST exclusive neighborhood?
Good question! I would say the most exclusive classic neighborhood is Las Palmas and the most exclusive contemporary neighborhood would be Desert Palisades.
God's waiting room. 😊
Next time do a reverse uno and report them for looking at you without permission

😂😂😂😂
What a waste of water for all the green grass lawns on the front yards.

The video would be good if there was no talking
You should just not narrate the video
