Im a welder too but when i first moved to Los Angeles I worked for door company and one day the part owner told me im too clean at the end of the day he said the other guy with me looked more like a worker my reply was i work with my hands not my clothes and being nasty does not mean you are a good worker

I always believed getting the job done was more important than staying clean but if I could get the job done and stay clean that was my preference. I was taught if you have an arm and knee pad and don’t lay against the pipe you won’t get that dirty. I found that to be true in my life. Once you get to work and the fire fight starts you won’t leave as clean as you came. I believe you should come clean to start with
      Thank you
