Wow Fran's ballet in the rain ,some fabulous shots of the Chirk aqueduct crossing, the size of those leeks at the veggie store and the delicious sounding supper supplemented with some secretive foraging .Then the walk to the Abbey ruins .I quite agree to surround that beauty and historical presence with 21st century tat is a crime. All in all a lovely vlog thanks guys
After watching hundreds of narrowboat vlogs during our COVID house arrest, my hubby and I would like to give Fran the 🏆 as the best narrowboat pilot. You go girl!
I totally agree with you Fran on the placing of the caravan site surrounding the Abbey ruins. We all want people to enjoy holidays in the countryside but the authorities should have stopped it. Thanks, guys for sharing your excursion into Wales.
As they say in the country - you can't eat the scenery! Rural councils are usually barely able to support employing a proper engineer, and the local electorate would all be wanting their own caravan park. No votes in it for the Councillors. Heritage Wales obviously caught napping there.
Lovely video. Fran keep being you. Dance, Rant on. What ever you like. We love you. Love the wondering thru the villages. Love the history. Love the doggies playing. Love the drone footage. The best of everything. Been hot here in Ohio also.
I fully agree with Fran's rant! the site of Valle Crucis Abbey is absolutely ruined by the unsightly camping and caravan site. Apart from that, lovely to join you on your further journeyings!
Dear Fran & Rich, can't get enough of your wonderful vids, so excited with every new one , never disappointed . The beauty of Wales so evident here, thank you for sharing, so refreshing. Fran you have the most lovely dresses , always pretty and feminine. Enjoy your next stop ! Xx
Yours are definitely the vlogs I look forward to most. Not only are you both so enjoyable to watch together, but the composition and content of your vids is absolutely spot on... really well filmed with a great balance of pieces to camera, history, scenery, domestic stuff, music, silent cruising bits, and all manner of other info. Just love watching your story unfold.... a real tonic in these trying times, so thank you.
You guys have become the masters of narrow boat videos that entertain and are informative at the same time! Very few have mastered this, and thanks for all the beautiful scenery!
i am from the USA , sorry lol , but i have had a large boat for 36 years and for 20 years i have dreamed of moving to England and living on a narrowboat and i just wish i had the courage to do so because i don't care what anyone says , there is no better way to live than on a boat and your RUclips TV station is just the tops and i love how you just don't do endless boating videos , your walks are epic !!!!
Stunning scenery, thanks for your hardwork in putting the video together Fran & Rich. Fran I loved how you went and danced in the rain, some of us do that here in Oz when it’s been 40 degrees Celsius for a few days and high humidity. I saw the hire boat hit the wall before entering the aqueduct, and thought - seriously - he wasn’t watching what he was doing. I’d have let them go ahead to. 💗💙🙋♀️ from Oz
Glad you enjoyed it, it is not the first time I have danced in the rain, and it certainly wasn't the first hire boat we saw hit the sides on the canal!!!
One of the very best vlog of yours, fantastic footage 🎥, wildfood recipe 🧑🏼🍳🍄, a bit of historical research🕵🏻 , sun 🌞, rain 🌧, magnificent views 🏞and plenty of positive emotions 💆🏼♀️💆🏻♂️. Thanks for sharing 💚
A great vlog, standing in the rain and loving it, shopping (could spend a little longer in the shops showing us around), showing us your buys, foraging, aquaducts viaducts and tunnels and tasty sounding recipies, brilliant. Amazing video footage and dialogue, you'd really gone out of your way to see the sights and show us. I do enjoy your attitudes . This is an amazing vlog, very professional , thankyou.
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it. It is still a little bit difficult filming in spite with social distancing, but I'll dance in the rain any time it's not enough!
Yep, but don't tell anyone its a great secret. All the traffic is on the motorways too, miles of idyllic country lanes for cycling. There are public footpaths criss-crossing the countryside too, so you get to walk through farm yards, across fields and through woods. Most villages have mediaevil churches and great pubs, and you hardly ever have to walk more than a few miles between them!
Love how the couple walking on the pathway across the aqueduct waved to the drone as well. Amazing footage and views! Thank you again for sharing with us.
You two do a fantastic job. I love your point of view both literally and figuratively. I've said it before and I'll say it again we are so fortunate that you decide to take us along. Thoroughly enjoyed !!!
Thank you so much Fran and Rich for another cracking video.Just finished watching for a 2nd time.Loved your choice of music whilst crossing the aqueduct. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.xx
Just when I thought I could not like any more boat tubers I discover you two. I love watching your videos so much I went all the way back to episode 1 and I am making my way back to this one. I grab my crochet hook and yarn and spend some time enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing your journeys.
Loving your channel. Your unpretentious take on narrowboating life, warts and all. SHowing cruising in all weathers! I remember cruising on many a rainy day. Loved seeing you go through Froghall tunnel, and on the Peak Forest. I remember doing those many years ago as a teenager on my parents boat. Always wanted to do them again hopefully when we get our boat!
Hello guys, thank you for producing such a beautiful vlog again. I really appreciate the time and effort you both put in. Randomly...I remembered your Cicero picture and thus the quote when chatting to friends regarding philosophy.. I temporarily sounded educated... so thank you!! Be well and be safe .
When the rain falls you just let it fall and you grin like a madman and you dance with it, because if you can make yourself happy in the rain then you’re doing pretty alright in life”
These are truely your golden years. Mine were spent caring for elderly and disabled parents. I thought now would be my time...but disabled and now living vicariously thru narrowboats. I love where you are now...i think its the first i have seen from this canal. I love your combination of personal, views, the canal itself and history.hopefully winter will bring some lovely weaving. Thanks for taking me with..XOXOX
Gosh - there was so much in that - well done you both. A fabulous watch. Loved the drone footage of course, and crossing the aqueduct - oh, and that dark foreboding tunnel! I loved the opening with Rich in the boat doing his piece to camera and Fran on the tow path doing a piece to another camera! And as for the caravan park! I shuddered when I saw that. Thanks so much for bring us these videos - they are just fabulous!
A lovely episode. I would be hard pressed to leave that beautiful area. Thanks for filming all that beauty and sharing it. PS I agree, Fran, the caravan park surrounding the ruins was definitely incongruous.
Thank you for an excellent vlog. I especially loved Fran dancing in the rain. I would have done that myself in Sussex at the end of the oppressive heat we had a few weeks ago but the rain never came. 🙄
We had been listening to thunder tumbles for a couple of days with no rain. It was very welcome. Now we are finding it hard to resist lighting the fire!
I think I remember that Michael took Perseverance all the way to the meter house in Llangollen as if I remember it correctly that´s a silver propeller location.
Coming out of that tunnel was beautiful! I couldn’t believe how pretty it was. Thank you for taking me with you!!! I’ve been binge watching your videos and enjoy them so much!
Really like the drone footage of the aqueduct and viaduct side by side. No it wasn't the easiest to get so, well done. The rain thing at the beginning, take the shampoo out next time- why not? Canal life.
Seeing Fran dancing about in the rain after a hot day, reminds me when i was a kid listening into the cricket from the WACA ground in Perth, and the callers speaking about the 'Freemantle Doctor'. Perth is on the Swan River, a little inland and can get quite hot, but in the afternoon the sea breeze wafts in from Freemantle and cools things down no end, and i have always thought it a very descriptive term to use.
Hi Rich and Fran...loved the opening of Fran enjoying the rain! 😊 Really enjoyed this episode! Great choice in music! I very much agree with Fran's rant about the Caravan Park. Loved the video beginning to end! Thank you...take really good care! Please give Jess & Archie a cuddle for me.
This is my first of your videos. Found you from Well Deck Diaries meet up. I love that you include as much of your little tours of the places you moor at. Thank you for "taking us along".
Great start back. Fran frolicking in the rain. Richard flapping about his drone. But loved the video and commentary. ❤️ The Country House Gent has a leather drive belt. He’d be hard pushed to pull the skin off a rice pudding. Brilliant produce from the green grocer 🙏🏻 Nice chicken of the wood flan by Fran
Such beautiful scenery!! I'm going to watch this again in February when it's winter in Canada! Thanks again for having me escape to England once again!!!
Beautiful shots! I would have taken a shower too. Thanks so much for your excursions off the canal. I feel like I’m there visiting the UK. Maybe someday!
You've got to go Ron. I hire a cheap car and put on Google Maps and just drive. Air BNB in the country usually involves a charming host and a cooked breakfast. If I blow my budget I resort to camping, and to save money I use leisure centres for showering and laundrettes to clean my clothes.

Another superb video, capturing the essence of some fabulous Welsh sights and scenery. I found some geocaches there last year - one by the meter house beside the falls and another near the fence above the church. We must have been lucky - the Basin was barely half full even though it was peak time. Chirk to Llangollen must be among the best bits on the canal network, would you think?
What a delightful beautiful video. Thank you. By the way, we have cows, they hate being hit on the forehead, so you should only need to wave your stick at them if they get too close. Well the Thai cows are like that so I guess the UK ones might be the same - let me know lol. Love the shots of the rain from inside, so cozy.
Ah The green, green grass of home. Its watching beautiful scenery like this that you realise how good Britain has so much to offer. The crispness of the air, the freshness. I've not been home in years, working in the middles East.

Dancing in the rain! Fabulous, just what I could do with at the moment with all the humid heat at the moment 😍💐🌅
I remember that day well. It was a wonderful feeling and yes, we could do with that now.

I know Wales is known for its leeks, but they really are magnificent!

Yay! Thank you Jane xx
Absolutely love the fact you get off boat and explore...
To bad I can't press the like button a hundred times. This episode really floated my boat! Thanks...from Florida.

Love the drone work, Rich. Fancy giving me a few lessons 😉
Fran, Shaun did exactly the same in the rain! 😂 xxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Colin. Just bought a Mavic Air 2 but not used any footage yet.
Shaun and Fran kindred spirits.
Hope you're both well xx
Lovely video. Fran keep being you. Dance, Rant on. What ever you like. We love you. Love the wondering thru the villages. Love the history. Love the doggies playing. Love the drone footage. The best of everything. Been hot here in Ohio also.
Thank you so much
I have two pictures of the aqueduct and viaduct on my living room wall.
I fully agree with Fran's rant! the site of Valle Crucis Abbey is absolutely ruined by the unsightly camping and caravan site. Apart from that, lovely to join you on your further journeyings!
We had heard about the campsite but we really shocked to see how it engulfed the ruins
Ah! Dancing in heavy rain, that takes me back, except I was naked!
Lovely scenery and yet another Canal to put on my bucket list.
I would have been too if I was in my garden 😉
Dear Fran & Rich, can't get enough of your wonderful vids, so excited with every new one , never disappointed . The beauty of Wales so evident here, thank you for sharing, so refreshing. Fran you have the most lovely dresses , always pretty and feminine. Enjoy your next stop ! Xx
Thank you so much June x
Agree with rant. I believe the canal was originally supposed to go as far as Liverpool but they ran out of money.
I love that you don't show people what the mushrooms you picked look like. You are saving people from themselves. So thanks for that.
Yours are definitely the vlogs I look forward to most. I enjoyed that. And you enjoyed it. I laughed when you said the church grass was only cut twice a year ----- like my garden.
That’s what we are like when in rains in Australia after a hot summer.
