      I would say it's biased with a preconceived notion that a Chinese symbol or character on an airbag or any other item makes them look cheap even though the car is a Chinese-made car which he has given an overall positive review. This kind of preconception which was common in the past is now starting to get outdated in view of the numerous high-tech and world-leading products like cars, drones, and telecommunication systems from China and it's best to be aware of such pitfalls by avoiding making such statements and risking being misunderstood. I wouldn't say it's racist in intent.

      The Atto 3 averaged 14 kWh/100 km with me over 400 km. At domestic electricity rate of 0.57 sen/kW, that's RM7.98 per 100 km (you may add 10/15% for power loss).
      A fairly efficient petrol car that does 6.67L/100 km (15 km/L) would cost RM13.67 on fuel per 100 km.

    • @Albion80s
      @Albion80s 2 года назад

      @@hafrizshah4937 It's so much cheaper to run an EV with the comparison you've done at will more than offset the initial higher cost of an EV. Besides ride and handling, this surely must be an important consideration and should be highlighted in your future reviews including the life of the battery. I watch The Electric Viking and there are claims of BYD's LFP batteries lasting between 3000 to 4500 charging cycles. Simple maths suggests they can last over an incredible 1 million km. It's a game-changer for the automobile industry, no doubt.

    • @kennyenchoo

      i got 14.5kWh/100km after 3 weeks of driving and don't forget you got to maintain car speed 80~90km/h in order to get a better distance. i got another toyota hybrid car can go 5L/100km ~ RM 10 for 100km. so EV still have ~ 25% saving vs hybrid car.
      charging time and location is another point to be considered, if you stay at high rise building may have issue with the car charging, average take 3~6 hours for a full charge depends on the battery level. in general, with the 3 pin plug portable car charger it will take ~30 hours for 0 to 100% with actual charging power 1.8kW, and 7kW wallbox will take about 9 ~ 10 hours for 0 to 100% charge.
      the only problem so far is the rear camera, whenever raining day the reverse camera will be blocked by rain drop and difficult to see. the rain wiper senser is not there also.

    However, Im a bit torn about the interior. Its too non standard. This means
    A) people either love it or hate it
    B) after 10 years it wont age well.
    But heres the thing, car manufacturers rely so much on sales per year that, this actually helps them.
    As a car collector, I care about how cars look years and decades from now.
    Anyway thanks for the showcase. As for your chinese characters remark, yes some people can choose to not like it. Like you said, it doesnt look tailor made for global markets. That was pretty much bang on. Whether it makes it look cheap? I dont know.

    Malaysian charging infra sucks, and is unlikely to improve anytime soon. Unlike China's gov, ours is not flush with cash to sink billions building this up.
    Is BYD bringing in only their full battery only EVs? How about their PHEVs? Enough battery range for daily commute, but you can still drive from Singapore to Bangkok.
