- With the current (pun intended) interest in BEV's (Battery Electric Cars), we thought that a detailed review would be helpful to would-be buyers of electric cars, especially those who are particularly interested in the BYD range. Even if you are interested in other EVs, watching this video would also help you know more about EVs as a whole.
We took part in an organized media drive that took us up north to Tg Malim and back - unfortunately, time did not allow us to go up our favorite mountain (and we hope to be able to do that soon), but we did get a whole lot of footage - we trimmed off quite a bit to try to get you only the essence of what we did, and we also added in a full walk-around review.
Do take your time to view the entire video, and let us know what you think of this kind of review. Of course for our 'mountaineering' friends, we will try to always have a special on mountain climbing.
Anyway, I must say a big thank you to all our supporters who help us to share our videos to their friends, and also give our videos a like, and encourage us with great comments.
Also a big thank you to Aiman Fitri and Harvard Lee who always watch our videos and give us great feedback.
Finally, I think the BYD looks great, and is priced quite competitively, and we wish BYD a great success in its sales efforts.
And Yes, if you need to book this vehicle, you can also do it through our channel; go to shop.yskhongdriving.com or give us a shout out through whatsapp to 0163350609.
See you all soon! Cheers! - Авто/Мото
Excellent video. Very detail as well as highlighting many parts that other reviewers don't look at. Review & knowledge sharing 😊
Glad it was helpful!
I’ve test drive the BYD Atto 3 before and really like it. It is so comfortable to drive yet so quiet. The only turndown was that there were no spare tires provided and this was also confirmed by the sales advisor. It will be a problem if the car breaks down. Other than that, it’s a perfect EV car.
I just 'discovered' you guys on RUclips. It's so refreshing that this is a review coming from a respected rally driver. Drivers like you KNOW what a car should be able to do and can explore its limits. Therefore your opinion is more valuable to me than most other car journalists. To me it appears many journalists review a car totally biased, and they make up their minds based on personal taste rather than approaching it neutral. Great job, thank you!
Thank you for knowing the difference and for suppprting our channel. Means a lot to us. Thanks again.
One of my friend bought this car and I get to be the passenger, cool car. Quite and gentle.
Much the same as I described it.😂
@@YSKhongDriving haha i actually comment here before watching your video. that was what I felt when sitting behind seat haha. the funny thing is i was wondering how to open the door to get out LOL.
BYD Atto 3 is BEST Selling EV in Thailand for mths of Jan n Feb '23
Very nice and detailed intro, it is indeed a value for money EV
Agreed!
Nice video Uncle YS!
I like that rear strip light [ala red tron]. Had the chance to see one driving besides my car last weekend and I noticed the rims looks remarkably similar to Modelista ones used on the Raize. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you for watching, and lovely feedback.

BYD ATTO 3 BEST Selling EV in Thailand for 1H'23
UNDISPUTED
#2 is Neta V
Wow they sure know which roads to take you on for a test drive. The only s-curve I can get here is SBV 99 bends 😅
The smile on your face says it all!
Always enjoy uncle's video
I kena racun from BYD..visit BYD showroom at MidValley JB today..
Based on several reviews, I find the BYD Atto 3 to be quite appealing to me. In Sabah, owning an electric vehicle can be challenging, especially for those who frequently travel long distances across hilly and poorly maintained roads that consume battery power faster. Additionally, there is no recharge station for the battery. In contrast to the situation in Semenanjung, there are multiple patrol stations in the area that have recharge points installed.
Hopefully the infra will improve soon.
Country side roads are always enjoyable and fun especially with EV ...nice drive 👍
Would like to know how much distance can go for full charge?
The rated distance for 100 percent charge is 480 km.
I like your review of the Atto3 but one thing which I was hoping to hear was how much battery was consumed from your round trip to Tanjung Malim. With a full charge, how far out of KL can I wander and come ...
The range is 480, take away 20 percent for safety, and there you are.
Fantastic car fantastic review , but Habislah after this review wait time become 10 years hahaha
Hahaha, come book with us and support our channel.
Nice to drive in M'sia kampong road.
I test drive BYD Atto 3 last Sunday (21 Apr 2024) during their promtional event at Bukit Jalil. I love driving the car. What hindering me from booking is ill be travelling 150km daily to and fro my new workplace lembah beringin. I will face a lot of anxiety as there are still lack of charging station along the way back n forth to my work place especially in plus highway.
150km a day is less than half the full range. Technically you can run 2 days, and should be no problem. You will need a home wall charger, and plug it in every evening, just charge to 80 percent will do.

Wah....!... U drove all the way from kl lalu jalan dalam passed by 3 felda settlements even lalu my house area at 13.04, went thru longer rout Changkat Asa estate..!... how's the battery 🔋 reading?
Back to PJ with about 40 percent. Very good.
uncle, Tiguan also can open the car boot from inside the SUV.
Hi uncle,
Can you describe a bit more about this car's cornering and braking. Because a lot of other RUclipsrs have bad reviews on both these issues. I am getting my Atto 3 end of this month, so really appreciate your honest opinion.
As you can see from the video, it corners quite well. The suspension is Macpherson struts and multilink - you cant go wrong with that.
I dont know who the other youtubers are, but I drove the car, and my video is up, and you can see.
@@YSKhongDriving thank you so much uncle
Mr Khong, how you compare Ora good cat with BYD atto 3? Since you have drove these two cars before.
One is a SUV and one is a car. The car handles better than the SUV.. Both are okay to drive, and range is similar..So depends on which one you like.
@@YSKhongDriving Thank you for your reply😀
I heard somewhere that if I am driving for example 80km/h and j want to turn on adaptieve cruise control in atto 3. It will always start from 30km/h, and then I have to bring it up to 80km/h? Is it true?
I am getting my Atto 3 on 22nd of March 😁
When you turn it on at 80 kmh, it will start at that speed, unless you have programmed it otherwise.
Once it starts running, you can move the limit up or down.
@@YSKhongDriving also thought that it can't be true. Thank you for your reply 🙂
Atto 3 is a Great All Round SUV
RIDE Quality n Comfort is Improved with the Longer wheel base
I'm surprised China car which used to be seen very poorly is now getting quite good reviews everywhere even for handling
They get better and better.
A lot of 'tech transfer' from other established manufacturer as well
between byd otto 3 standard vs honda hrv hybrid. which one would you choose? i dont want to make a wrong budget. im not rich 😢
Tough decision. One is fully electric and one is a hybrid. So it depends on what you want and need.
Uncle, what is the top speed and yes waiting for the Genting run hoping YS test to its limit, one of the car on my list 😊
You should put your booking down right now. Yes, it's a good suv. Go to shop.yskhongdriving.com
160-170km/h,i have one in china
Uncle YS..where Highway toll you guys Exit for these Beautiful B--Roads ?
Exit at Bukit Tagar, go for about 8 km, T right, and set your waze to Tg Malim
@@YSKhongDriving thank youuuuuuuu
uncle, when you taking Atto 3 up Genting for a spin?
When we get the car.
Where did you guys drive to?
Tg Malim
BYD Atto 3 plus OR Honda Civic Hybrid? Both 171k OTR + insurance
I would take the Civic.
How is electricity cost compared to petrol for 400 km ?
About the same.
very great car but for handling like want to buang buang 1.izzit?
I jink it handles okay, like any other SUV with Macpherson struts and multilink suspension. It is tuned to the comfortable side of firm
Tak sabar rasanya nak pakai EV ....
Jika tak sabar, jangan....
Can ev drive thru flood water ?
Not recommended.
review dolphin naik genting boleh
Bolih, kalau bolih dapat kereta.
Hi Sir, I believe there is another area to analysis where cost of charge against cost of fuel. Its not cost benefit, user may think twice.
At the moment, home charging is about half the price of equivalent cost of fuel for the same range, roughly. Charging outside - cost varies from station to station.
Drive so fast 🙂
I am learning from Uncle Khong.. I need to slow down.. watching half-way.. need to check I I was ''too slow..'' .
this is the best ev you can get under rm150k better than ora good cat
It's under 150k?
I thought minimum 180k?
@@bryantang203 the base variant start at rm150k the top-of-the-line start at rm169k
ANY TESLA TEST DRIVE?
Soon, we hope.
Am I seeing things or is the car bouncing all over the place? Maybe it's because YS was driving too fast on country roads.
I was driving fast, not too fast. I also drove slow, so you can see how ot performs.
BYD. BUY YOUR DRINK. LOL
Malaysia petrol price is very low, EV is quite difficult to penetrate the Malaysia market, go back China please.... buy Perodua car, not Proton, Perodua car use locally made parts, Proton parts are gradually being imported from China, which will be destroying Malaysia's automotive industry.
This is a BYD review, not a political platform.🤣
