The demise of FM radio is the reason these guys are the best band most of your friends haven't heard of yet. I don't know anyone who doesn't love them the first time they hear them. Ain't Much Left Of Me would have made them superstars in the FM radio era, and if not that, Run Away From It All, or One Horse Town, Prayer For The Little Man, Best Seat In The House and/or lots of other of their original songs would have broken them nation wide and given them the exposure and level of success that their never ending touring is giving them now. Success is a relative thing and I have the sense that they love playing together and any success that they have attained is great but not the reason they started and still play together today, but success usually translates into longevity and that means we get more and more music from them. I took way too long to say I love this band and hope they never stop.
Their popularity is growing here in the U.K. as their music is an antidote to the homogenized bullshit in the mainstream music scene.
Well said, Andrew(!) I have degrees in music, am 60 years old, have eclectic taste & appreciation for bands/musicians thru the decades and am a fairly new fan of this band - having heard/seen the band's name here & there...but when I finally had that first listening experience I was immediately aware that these guys are really good songwriters employing atypical harmonic progressions and clever meaningful lyrics! So what I'm taking too long to say now is FM rock radio today seems overly polarized - either the new rock tunes one hears are in the 'alternative' domain or are the same old same old warhorse tunes beat to death and proudly played by a computer in virtually the same order on daily playlists. And don't even get me started on the infestation of pop and new country music with the 'snap track' beat, auto-tune & auto-harmony and some kid workin' an overly repetitive pentatonic church blues style melody - like they've paid their dues and got something to say - NOT!
Amen brother!!!
boboala1 exactly! I’m 61 and my wife is 59. We couldn’t afford many concerts in “the day” because we were raising kids. Did see MTB with Tommy and Toy in 78 though. All my wife wants to listen to now is Blackberry Smoke and Cody Jinks. And yes, we are very new to them.
I do know one person who didn't like them,I didn't understand why.
0:00 Lord Strike Me Dead

you are a friend! Thanks!
thank you so much :)
Charlie Starr is playing in open G here with the same skill he plays in open tuning.. He's a beast of guitar and hugely underrated
Crowblack that esquire is awesome!! Charlie Starr is great
I play in open G a lot.. I've been doing it for so long that I've learned how to solo in that tuning(it's easier on slide but I can do it with my fingers too). Charlie is extremely underrated.the guy is a great guitar player & songwriter....
soloing in open G ain’t that hard. Charlie is badass though
G, C, D its great
Seeing it live was unreal
These boys have a genuine love for what they do. It's written on their faces.
I've been listening to these guys for several years.. but have never seen a full set on stage.. These dudes belong on the list among the elite..
If they had been doing this in the late 70's, they'd have been mega stars..
Awesome musicianship
like a big old ball of zepplin, tom petty.crowes, stones i could go on........these guys are solid gold great musicianship
I only heard of Blackberry Smoke 2 years ago and found out they've been around years. Loved them immediately. By far the best southern rock band to grace the stage in recent years. One the hardest working too.
The band Blackberry Smoke is the Lynyrd Skynyrd of the 21 Century. Charlie Starr is the best vocalist of this century too. Thanks Guys we all love your music. I listen to y'all all day and night. Cleaning house to BBS music, even have my husband listening to their music. BBS is the BEST. When y'all come to Tx. its just too hot to go to the concert, but I love ya all. Take care and stay safe.
A HARD touring band, never given their due. The extension of traditional southern rock. Rock on brothers.
I saw BBS play acoustic to a crowd of about 100 people in The Basement in Nashville in 2017. This was my first time seeing them play. After the show they had a 'Meet & Greet'. I got their autograph and a picture with Charlie. Before the show I looked them up and the first song I listened to was "Aint' Much Left of Me". I was smoked, blown away and instantly fell in love with them. The next time was the second concert in 2018 at The Shed. As the band ended their show, a tremendous storm came rolling in. Within minutes the power was out all over Maryville, Tn. These boys are so loyal to their fans, they went ahead and did the Meet & Greet that was scheduled. They did it without any power, very little lighting, and in a downpour of rain. They are so dedicated to their fans, they show us how grateful they are and how much they care about us, the Brothers and Sisters. They have been together for over 20 years, & I think it's time they get the recognition they deserve. They have been guests on The Tonight Show, Stephen Colbert show, Conan O'Brien, jools Holland, Carso Daly, NCIS: New Orleans tv show, and their music is played numerously on the series "Yellowstone". They deserve a Grammy!!!!!
You are so right Sherri! BBS are brilliant on and off stage. I've done 2 meet and greets. They are so down to earth. Lili in France. Rock on sister.
I'm from Brazil, some friend show me this amazing band, well became a great fã immediately, thank you to share your experience :)
A Tele, a Les Paul, and a Gretsch in one band. What more could you possibly need? Love this band.
🎉]
Paul never stops smiling, and that's AWESOME!!!
I know eh! He is one of the most cheerful guitarists I’ve ever seen. He kinda looks a bit like Noah Hunt - Kenny Wayne Sheperd Band
Blackberry smoke really rocks. Long time fan here. Spread the good word.
where they from Georgia??
I'm listening in England 🏴 and absolutely love southern rock. Blackstone cherry, further south and these guys are my favourite.
They deserve a better crowd here....this is a killer rock band.
This video has set the record for the most times I've ever gotten goosebumps in 45 minutes. (I lost count about 15 minutes in, but I'm quite certain that it's a record.) Got-damm this band is good!
Wow. What a great set by an awesome band. You people that thumbed this video down don't know shit.
Ime 77 now just discovered these guys and can’t seem to get enough
I'm with you! I'm 60 and don't know how I missed these guys!
I can’t stop watching this set. Hottest band by far in my opinion. Love the vibe, vocals, lyrics, guitars, bass, keys, and drums, all of it. The first 2 songs hit you right in the face. This set gives me hope for the future and something to look forward to.
Blackberry Smoke is completely awesome! 😍♥️
I from the Stones & Dylan era, but this is one of the great new bands in my book
Paul Jackson always looks so happy to be on stage.
Never seen a guy so happy to be playing guitar...where he is meant to be.
So cool! I stumbled across these guys right here on you tube last year. Probably one of the best and famous southern rock bands no one ever heard of.
Heard about these guys through an old seventies bandmate and everything he said is correct!!! Great job!!!
I am from Brazil and I love this band, Blackberry Smoke Rocks!
Uma das melhores atmosferas que já vi em um show. Monstros.
So am I my friend!
I was never a fan of southern rock till I saw these guys live, They are on par with any of the jazz or blues guys I've ever heard or played with,,
Same here
Proof there are still good bands nowdays!
your right didn't think there were any and I found this
They’re not to my taste, but they are evidence that every type of band that has ever existed still exists somewhere and is still making that particular style of music. I don’t like southern rock. Something went wrong when that southern sound started to be fetishized. More of a psychedelic fan myself, also into classic-style hard rock, classic-style heavy metal, and some progressive rock, folk, punk, and classic-style rock ‘n’ roll, and there’s always a new band out there playing everything I could want. There’s so many good bands out there nowadays that I can even pick and choose just overtly Satanic bands from every genre that I like. And I think the ratio of male to female musicians has improved a little.
Sweden’s where it’s at.
Great Rockin' Band...Not too late for smellin' that Southern Sound. They don't forget The Outlaws and those flaming guitars.! Thank you Blackberry Smoke !!!
I played with the great Buzzy Meekins who was bassist with the Outlaws when he was 17. Buzzy Meekins ended up with Molly Hachet. I like to keep his memory alive as he was a monster! Thanks for keeping the music alive!
First time I heard them it was the Black Crowes, they were one if a kind then, now there's 2 and I couldn't be happier about it!
Hey guys.... Thanks for bringing talent and hair back to music.
Great Band! Great Music! I love these guys, for their Break It Down acoustic tour they added Benji Shanks on guitar & mandolin, He also stayed with them for the Till The Wheels Fall Off 2019 tour. They added an old friend Preston Holcomb on percussion for their TTWFO portion. I have seen recent shows where Benji has moved on and Preston is still there. I love Benji's contributions especially on slide and mando, but I am a big fan of Paul Jackson's playing and love his leads and fills and Benji did cut into his spotlight time. That said I love all versions of this band.
Major fan. DL
Just started listening to these guys.. MAN THEY FUCKING JAM!!!
These guys are keeping rock-in-roll alive. Big thumbs up.
Good to hear these guys are still going....& turning out new tracks. Fricken awesome, they have gotten better with age :)
Allman Brothers meet The Eagles with their own style you just don't hear today.Very unique.
That's very fine Rock and Roll. probably the best American band currently.
No.... Clutch is. Nuff' said.
Shaw Davis & The Black Ties
Jody Kenyon Hmmmm. Not for me. I went to listen to some of their songs....It’s good hard rock (sounding a bit like Johnny Winter-my favourite), but these guys have more elaborated/crafted and melodic rock songs, played with force, mastery and soul. Their playing is also very tight. I like these guys better.
Gerardo Thielen Hey go check out a band called Whiskey Myers you want be disappointed ?
I love to levitate my spirit. This is something your creation does for me. Thank you
They’re like a mix of Allmans, Kentucky Headhunters, Ozark Mtn boy’s, & even a little bit of Jethro Tull thrown & they turn it around with a tremendous mix & make it their own. Love love this band!!
Thanks Levitate; great sound and filming. The outdoor concerts seem to have folks who just showed up by chance; Blackberry Smoke indoor concerts are "better" in my humble opinion; but this is a good one coming on. Charlie puts on his shades and you can't see his beautiful eyes in the afternoon sunlight. Sigh. BIG BIG Merci for the clip, best fan from France, Lili Kiki.
I love this beautiful Southern Band. Charlie Starr and his companions donate beautiful songs and a lot of warmth and groove on stage. Stay Rock !!
First time listening. These guys should be superstars. Way better than 98 percent of garbage on todays radio!
Saw them open for Tedeschi Trucks Band twice this summer. Really solid southern rock band. Charlie really is a perfectionist on the guitar and leads this band superbly.
I saw tedeschi trucks 5/25/19 in Salem, Oregon. Low links was the head-on and it was great cuz David hidalgo came out and joined them for a 14 minute anyday and again for don't keep me wonderin'.but the smoke would've been great too.
Was there at red rocks great show!
seeing them on Saturday supporting Taceschi Trucks at Wembley arena in London.
Re-watching from lockdown in France. Great filming and sound Levitate. Blackberry Smoke always give it their 1000% all. Love it when Charlie talks to the crowd. BBS rocks. Merci, Lili Kiki, best fan from near Paris. "Everything is gonna be all right"... oh how we hope so! Thanks for the message to us. We need it.
They are taking off where lynyrd skynard left keeping southern rock alive .
@bigbluesparky not the same after the crash
It's clear air. Breath it in.
Black Foot took over from where Leonard skinard left off!!!
Ray Taylor They’re better than Skynard ever thought about being.
@@cvblaylock absolutely! saw them in concert! their own songs, & they can cover anyone including Skynyrd! And BBS introduced meto the best young rockers today- Tylar Bryannt & The Shakedown! thank you Charlie Starr
Ive heard of them along time ago hope the more people hear the more they like, Rock On ♡♡
Damn I love this band. Charlie is off the chain and so is his band and lead guitarist
I saw this the weekend of the festival, then couldn't find it again. Thanks for posting!
BBS-best band playing today. Hands down!
Saw them open for Zac Brown band about 6-8 yrs ago. They were 100% better than Zac Brown. I left Browns show to buy their CD. Great authentic band as they don't need theatrics. They play...they sing...awesome!
No shame in only just discovering BBS. They've only been playing since 2002 at the Star Bar in Atlanta. Blackberry Smoke is a name suggested to them [I forget which group] but I love their name! Go see them live and do a meet and greet. The "boys" are all so down to earth, kind, funny, happy and they love us = their fans = no joke! And yep they are a great great band. This show has some guests, including Benji and the percussionist. BBS is Charlie, Brit, Brandon, Paul and Richard and I'm their biggest fan in France. Lili Kiki. Rock on BBS!
I really hope for these boys. They have so much potential. We need a new truly authentic soulful band. It's a hard life I ought to know but like being a missionary it's God's work. Peace.
Não vejo a hora de ver Blackberry Smoke novamente no Brasil. Adoro o som desta banda. Dimas Augusto - Ribeirão Preto - SP - Brasil.
I hope Charlie appreciates what a great wingman Paul is.
Helping me live.Thank u love Blackberry Smoke
Good to see a wide age range in the audience. We need the young ones to appreciate their music as well as us old folks.. Great band Saw them twice in Australia.
This band is way better live than in the album recording. And in the album they're fucking amazing. Trying to manage that ever since 😂
Love that band
Long live the southern rock and roll spirit!
You create awesome music
guy`s.
SOUND MAN GETS AN A+ FOR MIXING GUITARS
Levitate 2019...a rainy sorta off/ on showers in S. Charlie starr is incapable of creating bad guitar tone. Everything he touches is the tone i hear in my head & have been trying to achieve for 20 some years but always fall that little bit short!!
Thank you!
It's Easter 2024, and I feel like
I've been led to this concert today.
What a beautiful bunch of musicians
these men are.
I feel like I'm at Church right now,
listening to honest truth in word & song.
I'm not religious, in my words or my ways.
I simply worship My Savior Jesus.
I'm not sure what to make of all this,
but I believe Blackberry Smoke music has shaken me loose from some chains that have been holding me down.
Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame is where
this band belong.
Man, I feel sanctified by 🔥
Thank you Charlie Starr....
If that ain't rockinroll....I don't know what is....I love it
These guys are so good!
i do enjoy every minute ... there the best
Wow, love this band.
Fantastic. I saw Skynrd a few months ago here in the UK and they blew me away. I've always liked these guys and this is a great performance in the same tradition.
Yea Skynyrd can blow you away. You only got a tease of the power they held with RVZ leading them..
Unfortunately, Lynyrd Skynyrd today is just a tribute band. BBS is the real deal.
I’m definitely ENTERTAINED by the boys from Georgia
Long time fan, Love the sound the new Brothers bring!
Wow these guys got IT!! Awesomeness
My God. Jesus is back again. Charlie I will be a disciple and follow you.

These guys are amazing 🎤🎶🎸🎸🎸
This is a show reminiscent of the great downhill from here dead show. One that in 20 years we'll say... "they had no idea what they were witnessing..."
Great southern rock band hope to see them live.
Awesome band
Can't wait to to see these guys at The Shed in Maryville Tn.
Polubiłem ich odrazu. Blackberry smoke, zawsze mi na górnej półce.
prawidłowo
