If I ever get to England, I'm going to look up Phil and schedule a playing lesson. I can't think of anything I'd enjoy more than a round of golf with this guy.
Have to agree with comments here. This approach makes the game enjoyable rather than fixating on moves and positions that senior golfers in particular cannot consistently achieve.
Phil, it can't get any simpler than The Iron Angel and the le Dance drill to show how easy it is to make a golf swing! I think, as you proposed, that we, as golfers, get to restrictive in our movements by not moving our heads or feet. I will definitely take note of this! Well Done Phil!
Thank you for another very clear, helpful video. It is amazing how teaching golf for amateurs & seniors has changed to suit less flexible & many golfers. Good idea to link The Angel Of The North statue to your Danse To Golf.
Thanks Philip, (enjoying the latest book ). Now I’m in my 50s and 11HCP I don’t want the game to be an effort. I’m having more success transitioning to this swing by now adopting more of a sweeping action moving through the ball rather than trying to hit down. I’m toying with the idea of these hybrid iron sets that ego stops people playing over here (not in US). I know Brian loved his 9 wood.
I have just purchased (this week) a new set of Titleist irons a mix of U505 (4 iron) T350 5&6 and T200 7-PW they are at least a club to a club and a half longer than my old ping irons and with light graphite Recoil shafts they are great fun and I’m loving them. They are so much easier I’m wishing I had changed years ago. My suggestion is find a great clubfitter and go for it!! Definitely give the T350’s a go and have a look at the 2 videos we produced while I was being fitted. Thanks for your support and I hope we can continue to help you with your game. Philip

You've shown me the key issues I had up until 2 weeks ago when my poor turn was explained to me.
Nicely explained...
So pleased to hear of your progress well done! 👍

Thanks for an easy exercise that clearly defines the full rotation.
You're very welcome, we're delighted it has helped explain it in a simple way.

BTW sweeping rather than hitting down is likely to be far more successful.
Makes sense to me. Thanks.
this is so well explained.... thank you for posting
Thanks - glad you liked it 👍
My problem is getting my club completely full. I have more of a Rahm backswing. How can I extend my backswing?
