I am 75 years old and I love that you take TIME to to help your dad with his golf swing . Even though we can not hit it 300 yards , we still enjoy playing the game . Spending time with your dad is the greatest thing you can do for him . Keep it up . I live in Sullivan Indiana and enjoy going out and playing golf with my wife, for us golf season is almost over . I enjoy gwtting my sons on the course when they have the time .

You've shared some great lessons Danny - but this is the best! I'm really pleased for your Dad - well done him (and you). This is exactly the lesson I'd like. I've had quite a few lessons in my time and , mostly, my coach has suggested some changes (similar to some of yours) but it's like they've plucked them out of the air. I'm sure they are correct and they know why they've made the suggestions, but they don't share the analysis and the explanation and they don't use the tracker data to show cause and effect. It calls for a lot of trust from me. That means that I take their suggestions to the range/course but, if a bad shots turns up (and it always will when learning new things) my trust weakens and I don't have the clarity of knowledge to fall back on. Your lesson with your dad was clear, logical, patient, progressive - great coaching !

Danny… a simple thing you covered on this video has completely changed my driver swing. The ‘glancing blow’ as you put it is exactly what I’ve been trying to rectify for years. So to move the hands forward in set up to open the face has been the fix. It also makes me swing more in to out. Today hit 80% fairways, meaning I’m not scrambling for an up and down. Thank you

He taught me how to golf when I was younger, and it’s been nice to now be helping my dad learn a new swing (because of his back), and the enjoyment when he realizes he still has the game. I think you hit a very sweet note with this video, it was great to see you showing your 80 year old Dad how to improve his swing. I'm 75 and have been struggling with an outside-in swing for my entire life. I try to take all these tips to heart, but my problem is that my practice swings look great but once I try to hit a real ball, that all goes out the window. My downswing just refuses to listen to my brain. But seeing how your Dad added 30 yards with an abbreviated backswing gives me hope that I can improve. Great video for seniors!

Great lesson with your dad, Danny. I’m 79, and the long, languid, Fred Couples-like swing that I had in my younger years stopped working several years ago. Old age just doesn’t allow for that kind of golf swing. My swing became short and compact like your dad’s, and the lesson you gave him was spot on - get the setup right, take the club no further back than your flexibility will allow, and just hit it harder. Excellent lesson; really well done. 👍

Everyone is like having the cookie jar on the counter and not in the cupboard. Easy to access. A good giggle I migh add....... You're a 120 yards off your goal. 80 years old and he hits final drive 196 yards in the fairway after his first drive with his son flew 161 yards. Club head speed jumps substantially as well. Pretty decent to say the least. What is notable is all....all the positive feedback Danny fed his Dad even when Dad was working on the "mechanics/position" of his goal.

Went to the range today. Definite improvement on my driver ball striking. I usually use a shoe spray to check my contact on the club face. Usually it shows all over the face. Today it showed almost everything in middle and the only deviation was slightly up on the face but still in the middle of the face. I even tried the weight shift move at address with my fairway woods of the deck and somehow even that made a big improvement in my striking and distance for my 5 wood. Only been playing for 2 years now and self taught of off many of yours and some other youtube golf trainers' videos. Thanks Danny!

Hey Danny, Australian living in Thailand. I used your technique that you showed your father. I am 61 and definitely saw a nice improvement in my drives being straight and more further distance when i concentrated. Thank you so much and keep the lessons coming.

What a wonderful session. Great to see you with your Dad. It was so heartwarming to watch. Not only that but the tips you gave him were amazing. I recently started pushing my left hip forwards and it’s made such a difference. I am still not as consistent as I would like, but am so much better than before and slicing less.
Love your teaching style Danny - simply the best on RUclips bar none!

You never stop producing great content. I have/ had but it creeps in every now and then to keep me on my toes to same swing you are fixing. I will use this when it pops up as it’s far easier than the process I use to get back to the swing that works for me and will save a lot of shots left out there.
And at times it’s a lot of shots to get back to something that works 😂
