    Newbies like me told to never move the left foot, elbows locked to your sides, left arm straight. But that means nothing flows naturally. Seeing how effortlessly you swing the club, and not afraid to let both heels come off the ground, as the body does naturally, the whole process just seems so simple, more effective and enjoyable. And the same principle applies to all clubs, not just driver. Another great video from the master.

    Badminton players may have difficulty with this, but could also have an advantage in putting this relaxed swing idea. Tennis players will have most difficulties with this because of the idea of keeping the tennis wrist solid. Squash players should feel this as a natural part of their strike pattern and thus adapt easily to this golf idea. I gave up playing, then coaching badminton and squash, to play golf - it was an age and mobility decision. So why is it that in my later years, particularly in the last three months, this easy relaxed swing idea has disappeared from my game? I am now convinced that the reason for these degradation in golf results is because I'm putting more effort, determination and aggression in to replace the gradual loss in flexibility.
    So thank you for this heads up reminder that really stressed muscles move more slowly, especially when control ideas have crept into the swing. I'm going back to old man relaxed swing, instead of once younger man looking for previous results.

    Great lesson Danny. Coincidentally, I've introduced 3 non-stop effortless, relaxed swings as my pre-shot routine. It's been very helpful in 'letting go', particularly driving.

    Another brilliant video. I have watched you since last February and I have developed a repeatable swing but still lacking the consistent distance. The heavy bag drill is something I can add to my strength training to promote the muscle memory. My new swing thoughts are: think loose and turn the right hip back.
    YOU ARE THE BEST!

    Thank you for another very helpful video & excellent practice plan.
    My golf course is now open so I look forward to following your clear advice.
    My hope is for a few extra yards rather than a large increase of distance.
    Back pocket back. Not a lot of different swing thoughts.

    It feels nice to be validated.
    I played baseball til i couldnt, and this is how i swing a bat. So golf seemed like it would be a fairly easy transition and be a little more kind to my body. And it may have been a smooth transition if i had the right instructor for me. I spent 15 years without the joy (and frustration) of playing golf.
    Your videos have helped me fall in love with the game again. Thank you.

    Spot on Danny. I've started to transfer weight slightly before the top of my back swing. Automatically adds that essential rhythm. Straighter, further for less effort!

  • @philipbaddeley9163
    @philipbaddeley9163 2 часа назад +2

    Yes, everyone knows the weight transfer to the lead side needs to happen before the top of the backswing and we all try to achieve this but I’ve NEVER heard anyone explain the simple reason for doing this i.e. if we don’t do this, we’d lose balance (or even fall over in an extreme situation). It’s simple physics really, like as kids we’d stand in the middle of a see-saw and try not to let the ends bang in the ground (does that make sense ? 😀)
    Brilliant Vid !

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  2 часа назад

      Absolutely Philip, one doesn’t need to think about transferring our weight. If you swing the club with momentum our bodies will naturally respond

    Wonderful and as always a very friendly way to explain things. Especially the words about "accepting" one´s personal limitations. I - with 63 years of age, battle with that stiffness! When teeing up at hole one I will always imagine your swing as an exaple of effortless and yet dynamic power. A pity that my brazilian wife has problems understanding you speaking quite rapidly, she is so talented but not much into learning via videos like me. I have to translate the basic informations into portuguese all the time but the images are already helpful. Thank you very much!

    Danny, excellent tuition and some super thoughts in here to move ones golf onto the next level. Could you consider doing a piece on the psychology of the golf swing. By this I mean taking the course characteristics out of play and just swinging freely. I always play a new course better!! With no existing scar tissue 😢 Im currently trying to just swing naturally and ignore what's in front of me. Im assuming the ball doesn't know where the hazards are, however I do and that impacts the result 😂 Anyway just a thought for your thoughts. Ray. Perth WA

    Great content and informative coaching Danny I’ve been working on relaxing the tension in the forearms to be more relaxed the difference in shots is so much better,to have a firm grip sometimes puts tension in your arms so for me it’s getting the balance,also working on relaxing the shoulders before taking the shot.Still work to do on the transfer to the lead side as I’ve got a problem with the trail knee I find it interesting your action through the feet to transfer to the lead side great coaching Danny beers up mister 🍻🍻

In the slap your body is naturally sincronized during the back swing and the follow through and I think nobody thinks about body weight transfer! What comes next, I can imagine! 😂😂😂

In addition to recent lessons with my clubs Pro, I took it to driving rangevon Thursday then played on Friday (yesterday) and what a difference it made.
