KOHLER Smart-Choke Oil Pressure Switch Delete Kit

The electric choke thermostat in the Smart-Choke system used to be powered through the oil pressure switch, meaning the choke thermostat would not open the choke until oil pressure was present.

If you try to order a replacement oil pressure switch today, you will find it is NLA, and in place will be one of these kits. The kit includes a standard single wire oil pressure switch that no longer is part of the Smart-Choke circuit.
With this kit, battery power now comes directly from the ignition switch, meaning as soon as the ignition is switched on, the Smart-Choke electric thermostat will begin to heat and open the choke. This also means if the ignition is accidentally left on when the engine is cold, the choke will then be open when trying to start, likely causing a no-start condition. Turn the ignition off and wait 10 minutes before restarting.
