- Today we take a look at Men of War 2! Many thanks to Best Way and Fulqrum Publishing for the key. The game has been a long time coming with the original releasing in 2008, returning with multiple single player campaigns to make up for the lack of such in the Assault Squad games.

I was looking forward to this a lot. I am not sure if I like the graphics. I feel like the old games looked better. More realistic, less cartoony, I guess? Seems also a little fast paced, at least if you care for realism.
Compared to SHO WW2 and Faces of War its much faster paced yeah, more like Assault Squad, especially in multiplayer.
Single player varies a bit more.
I've played both 'Faces Of War' and 'Soldiers: Heroes Of World War II'. 'Soldiers' was my first love. It got me so invested in the well-being of my little squad, and taking a single casualty was really affecting. I believe it was the first in this genre, and I consider it one of the best games I have ever played - and I've played a great many. I'm really enjoying this (can't wait for the devs to add speed controls in a promised update, being a bit of a slower player myself). Good video, Bandanner.
I am pleased to see the regular updates on their plans etc going forward, I think the main worry would have been they released it then went quiet. But they have been pretty active and I have even had content creator emails from the publisher keeping me updated on what they are working on etc.
Soldiers heros of ww2 wasone of my favorite games back then still have fond memories. Also the Storm over europe mod was something else
I am trying to remember if I played that mod... the name REALLY rings a bell....

Haha SHO WW2 was fantastic, very impressive coop campaign, you literally controlled one soldier or two each that you often manually controlled. Lots of switching out gear, or working together to protect one person running a tank haha.
Faces of War was similar, the original Men of War started to move away from that.
Same here and even better they are in huge sale right now on Steam. I'm buying Faces of War and Soldiers Heroes of WW2. I never heard of those titles and I love the WW2 genre.

Idk about you Kev but you should really give gates of hell a shout. Even just with sounds, hear the MG42 sing or the impact from the IG-18. It’s worlds apart.

I played "Soldiers. Heroes of Worl War II" and had a blast... Playing a campaign/misssion and afterwards looking for ww2-books in the schools library😂. I'm happy to see so many good strategy-games back on the market.
I'm glad someone else remembers that game! So many people didn't even know it existed it seems!
MOW2 is certainly more "arcade" than the original SHOWW2, but I have been having fun with it.

This game is HUGE mistake, that could have been easily avoided if Devs/Publisher would have listened what majority of Beta participants were telling them.
Instead, they decided to appeal to "wider audiencies" and the result you can see in Steam reviews tab.
A well deserved lesson for next time, when they finally decide to do what they are good at - MoWAS2 remaster/MoWAS3
What didn't you like about it? That its not as tactical as GoH or the older SHOWW2 etc?

@@reinach77 Less players than MoW:AS2, CoH 3, or GoH. Game is bad and almost nobody will buy it.
@@OlujaDoTokija I bought it and it's pretty good. You guys are just mad because the devs didn't follow your commands and wishes, which is pretty childish on your part.

I have been really enjoying it I played some on stream last week, you can see it in the "live" section on youtube.
I really like the idea I can unlock new units and rework my decks as I progress and the whole attack and defend aspect is a lot of fun.
I want to get men of war 2 just for it and when it gets modded this will be so amazing!!! Reminds me of steel division but smaller scale and a lot more fun in my opinion
@@abram4806 weirdly funny you should mention that, I dont really get on with SD2 but I always liked these games.
Not that I dislike SD2 I can just never get into it properly.
@@Bandanner yes, like war game and warno I can get into and love to play but steel division I can’t, I love it though. Men of war 2 plays out well. Sad that it’s mixed review already even though the haters only played less than 30 minutes of the game.
@@abram4806 there will be a lot of the Gates of Hell fans that don't like it I expect.
I see "always" online complaints.
And... Crashes I have not had any crashes myself.

health bars on tanks, generally more arcadey.

I didn't get paid anything if I had it would be listed as such, as you will note if you have bothered to watch my reviews, I pride myself on being honest to my personal experience and enjoyment.
I enjoyed the game/am still enjoying it, in particular the single player campaigns. I really like the conquest one.
If you don't like the game that's fine, but try saying that and explaining why rather than just suggesting someone else is lying/being paid for something.

MOW2 is a bit more arcade than that was, but I have been enjoying it.
