I was just at the dealership today, and while waiting on my bike I saw both the yellow and the blue GSX8-R and they look amazing. And saw a blue 8S next to it.
OMG! I just bought the 8R and was wondering how to add an SAE lead for my phone and battery charger! This video is PERFECT FOR ME! THANK YOU YAMMIE! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
When he said he was gonna clean it up with a zip tie I thought to myself “Better be a black zip tie then.” Cue next shot: “NOT the WHITE!” I work in manufacturing automation and most OEM’s use black, drives me up a wall when coworkers and other technicians use white ones. Whyyyyyy…😭
Havent used a cruise control, but have often cramped up on long rides... throttle locks always scared me so thanks for letting us know about the Atlas friction cruise 👏👏👏👏👏👏🫡
First things I did to my new to me 2017 sv650. #1 NELSON Commuter sport tail bag. #2 usb charger mounted on handle bar. #3 ram mount. It already had a windscreen, sliders, tail tidy and tank grips. I may try a throttle lock now that I've seen it done. Thanks Papa Yams!
All good things except the mount. Get either a Rokform or a Quadlock. Both are good. Ram mount is garbage. I know the other two can get a bit spicy in price, but it's less than what it would be to replace your phone when it inevitably falls out of the RamMount

You do not understand how much I absolutely LOVED this video! As a daily commuter, and highway traveller, this video speaks volumes! Thank you so much, love that throttle device!
My 2023 GSX-8S comes with a usb cutout and a spot to wire it in on a wiring harness behind the headlamp. Doesn’t the 8S have the same option? Maybe you just wanted to demonstrate. 😀
All good things, except it would be more functional to route the USB connector to the front. That way you can plug in your Apple cable, a micro-USB/USB-C/etc or whatever. For extra function you could have selected one that has USB and a volt meter, plus a power switch, so whatever you plug in won't inadvertently drain your battery if you leave it plugged in. All in all though, excellent mods to make daily riding better.
Definitely recommend having a phone charger! It gets very expensive stopping at Walmarts to buy power banks. Had to buy three on one ride and that's what convinced me.

Looking at moving on up to a mid 2000's Buell a xb12ss, xb12stt, or xb12x. Wanting the longer swing arm and higher seat height. The 2 stroke engine on my old enduro seems to piss a lot of neighbors off early mornings.
I have a ninja 400 and i got a kemimoto tail bag from amazon. Good quality and expands pretty nicely. Cheaply priced. You dont need to spend $100 on a tailbag.
How did you modify the throttle tube to get the atlas to fit? There's too big of a gap between my atlas and starter relay to make contact w the friction pad.
@yammienoob, If a bike had a usb slot already hooked up under the seat from the factory, would you still run a dedicated line for the phone charger or just use that use spot under the seat? I can’t really think of what else I’d use that usb for except maybe a passengers phone.
Hi Yammie! I'm trying to install the Atlas cruise control, and it locks up the throttle sometimes. What modification did you do exactly to that piece of plastic and how? Did you vile it shorter or something?
Who is buying all the yoshimura fender eliminator kits for the 8S and 8R? I havent been able to order one since i got my bike 2 months ago, seems like everyone is buying/making parts for these but i have yet to see another on the road.
Yammie, it would be better getting the USB connector up instead of the USB cable. If you change your phone or would like to charge some gadget with different port, or even have a USB malfunction you will be under the water.
Hey, i've been looking to get my first bike, but i'm only 16 years old, so i can only get a A1 category bike (up to 125cc), i thought that the ninja 125 could be a good option. What could you recommend?
@Yammienoob and other bike riders out there, i have a question. I think here in the Netherlands its not as easy to get your motorcycle license as it is in for example America. Here in the Netherlands you have to take about 15 - 20 lessons (this is on the street and highway as well), you need to take an exam in special manouveres and take a final exam showing that you can really ride a bike and find your way through trafic. You also need to take a theorie exam showing you know the trafic rules. Also you can take the above exams for a A class bike. That is 35 kw and above. Seeing you have to get all the above and the amount of lessons you have to take, can i start on a bit of a more heavy bike like a GSX8R ( I know not really heavy in the eyes of most people). @Yammienoob, would love to get your opinion on this! All the help is welcome! Thank you and drive save!
Same for Norway. I started on an MT07, and if you can honestly say you understand the machine you're on, how it works, that whiskey throttle is gonna end badly, and can perform a basic risk assesment before doing something potentially stupid, it's a great bike to start on. Lots of fun torque, and being a naked bike, it kinda limits how much you want to do stupid fast speeds. It will do 200km/h and more, but you're gonna have a helluva time hanging on. Definitely recommend starting on a naked, no matter what brand. Very fun in the twisties, around town and just general daily stuff
Each state has it's own laws on motorcycle licenses in the U.S. Here I paid for a 2 day weekend class and had to take a written exam at secretary of state which is our department of motor vehicles. And can ride any size motorcycle legally.
@@Bruutus2000 no worries, you just gotta be honest with yourself. It's a great hobby and one you'll want to have for years to come, making it very important to never ride beyond your skill. A Mt07, CB650, GSX8R or similar middle weight bike will give you enough power to stay entertained for a couple years, while still giving you margins of error you don't get with a bike that does mach jesus if you ever sneeze while riding. A bike that's too powerful or fast for your skills will just make it scary or uncomfortable to ride, making you ride less, never push your skills and never learn to master it. Good luck, hope you enjoy it as much as I do
I don't understand why they the makers don't have an optional kit you can buy with the bike with these types of things but all color coded so that it looks cool, they could charge a nice premium so win win
That repetitive tone in the music... stop bro! First noticed it at 11:33, but it didn't become prevalent until 11:50. Letting it persist for a solid minute is evil lol
It is uninmagable to think a 2024 latest bike model, equipped with ride-by-wire, still lacks the basic ability to cruise control……This one definetly has nothing to do with hardware as ride-by-wire throttle is already there, but simply due to the Suzuki's intention to seperate their bike classis by having this simple function or not.

It seems like this whole video is a rehab process to reform a gixxer squid into a sport touring dad. 😂
19 seconds. Last time I came this quickly, I ended up with my third kid.
It happens...
very impressive
There's still time to delete this 🤣
I don't think your third kid will appreciate this comment
Your spouse must be very pleased.
Did you guys know he has a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled?!?!
He might have mentioned it.
🤣🤣🤣
Bruh, do I!! 🤦🏾♂️🤣
Not the white zip tie 😭

Great tips thanks Noob. I have the Atlas throttle lock on my Super Duke. Works great .
Throttle lock is the most budget cruise control ever !!!
cheers from Greece !!!
Not using a black tip tie really bothers me.
tip tie?

Love how he blurred out the tag after we already seen it.
I saw that. :)
Take a shot everytime Yam says "Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled."
Your looking for alcohol poisoning.
Honest ocifer I haven't been drinking.
Right-angled tyre valves; letting you quickly fill your tyres like a car rather than having to work around the disk breaks.

Def interested in the Atlas the most. Very simple and looks easy to install.

Never realized how easy it is to install a tailbag. Will definitely get one!
You never realised how easy it is to install something with straps...
Need one with a acceptable holster for the road rage scenario.

I was thinking the same thing. Ordered the OEM socket for my 8R
@@RipTWD awesome! If you haven’t done the install yet it’s super easy.👍

Suzuki sells the connector for this bike that goes near the dash board. You just need to pop the hole open without going thru much hassle.

The Atlas cruise control saved me $750 over the electronic one from Australia. Thanks Papa Yamm!!

As a mechanic it’s killing me that you used a white zip tie on a black frame! Hahahaha
I have a ninja 400 and i got a kemimoto tail bag from amazon. Good quality and expands pretty nicely. Cheaply priced. You dont need to spend $100 on a tailbag.
Hey Yam, can you please link the exact atlas lock that works for the 8r! Their website doesn't have that bike yet.
What specifications do I need to look for in a motorcycle tyre inflator?
How would I go about lowering a GSX 8S and the 8R? My wife is only 5'6 and wanted to know how to lower it. Thanks
How did you modify the throttle tube to get the atlas to fit? There's too big of a gap between my atlas and starter relay to make contact w the friction pad.
fwiw, my tailbag will fit a sixer of tall boys perfectly. Which is usually the most important run my bike makes 😆

Yamm, got any tips for keeping your bike cool when stuck in traffic? Coolant recipes?
Install a compressor from a mini fridge.
Hi Yammie! I'm trying to install the Atlas cruise control, and it locks up the throttle sometimes. What modification did you do exactly to that piece of plastic and how? Did you vile it shorter or something?
First mod I would recommend would be adjustable levers.

I parked three machines for seven months and they all started and ran just fine. Modern batteries do not require trickle charging.
Yammie, it would be better getting the USB connector up instead of the USB cable. If you change your phone or would like to charge some gadget with different port, or even have a USB malfunction you will be under the water.
Is that paint splatter or dirt on the back of your bike?

What’s the name of the tail tidy you used for this bike?
I x-crossed my backpack straps around my Ninja tail. This bag looks waaaay better lol
those tank pads are sweet, what are they ??
That is a very nice bike.
Your closing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
How long are you gonna keep my bike?
Blur your plate at 3:25 lol
What is the point of blurring your plate?
@@Rich_Newell_ he did it for the rest of the video so he clearly wanted to. I think it’s mainly a privacy thing

Awesome !
3:40 hey editor, you missed something
Personally, I would have used the onboard fuse box for the USB charger. But I do not recommend this if you don't know what you are doing.
Hey there comment number 150 of the same question: Are people in Florida still not able to win the giveaway bikes?
"No things dangling" he said, showing the dangling SAE lead. Strangest "clean install" I've seen in a while
gonna do this to my bike soon (I dont even have one cuz im 13)

Oh thank god it's not a "$1500 pipe + tune" that does nothing except make a bike really irritating.

SAE plug isn't as useful as a standard 12v lighter outlet which most things will plug into especially a usb charger adapter!
