Ok So... the CGI was great Acting was perfect G-man was ok action sequences were fun I love the attention to detail and staying true to the source (like everyone actually uses an MP5 or a Spas-12, HECU marines have the same type of white-green camo, the Black Mesa screen at 2:48 looking almost exact as the stuff in Black Mesa. the Apache Helicopter was identical, the Black Mesa containers, the music and sound effects...) Goddamn apart from the Vortigaunt this thing is perfect.
huh, funny thing I noticed, the HEV charger at 1:39 doesn't look like a HEV charger, however this thing is almost identical to those electric panels that the player uses in Half Life 2 Episode 1 to restore power to certain dark areas in the underground of City 17
@@vibaj16, it’s for the best, fan made projects are usually lower budget, but always keeps the heart of the project as a base, which means it’s gonna be better than most professional attempts, it’s also a plus when you don’t have to change every little thing to conform to today’s standards, that’s why I would love for these guys to become the backbone, and hopefully the stars of a show or movie based on the game. But since this is fan made, it’s probably better off if we just give them time and maybe some profit to help out in the long run.

What if he's playing the 1998 release? Technically, putting in host_framerate 0.3, causes the game to speed up immensely. If he's on Source, host_timescale 0.3 would work. Really, it depends which version of Half-Life this takes place in. Half-Life (1998), Half-Life: Source, or Black Mesa.
I'm in love with Bernhard Forcher now lol He really deserved a "Bernhard Forcher as Gordon Freeman." And thank you for not going Valve's way and make him silent. He also talked like a scientist, instead of saying that's our best shot, he said "that's our best hope." Attention to details, even if some of them flew past me (like the F to pay respects mentioned in the comments), was fascinating. My score goes to eleven

Luckily theres a game in decelopment called the borealis project based off of laidlaws letter. It looks extremely promising and whole its not valve it should be a great wrap up to the series

Just rewatched all of the episodes, the BTS, tagged and reviewed on Steam. I was going to post the donate link here but it looks like it got taken down. Obviously on a production like this everyone left in the hole. Most of your notes include lines thanking the fans for not giving up, but even more importantly, THANK YOU to everyone on the team who kept the faith. Hopefully the pride of release validates all of the slog and despair during the inevitably messy middle. You all are an inspiration to other creators hoping their projects will still somehow see the light of day. I can't overstate the importance of that last line.

This is a 9.5 out of a solid, shiny 10 from me. All superbly true to the core, gloriously acted and animated. Minor things that could've been improved are: G-Man... Vort... 06:05 - that grunt should've been reloading or at least try to kick back, cuz his spas was aiming at Gordon's head the whole time
This game started way back in my late elementary days... I even am currently playing it on steam. But watching this... takes me to that very atmosphere where anticipation of whats next to come.... is always an adrenaline for me. Valve will absolutely, secretly cringe deep down there chest, knowing this is the type of master piece they shouldn't left. Hey Valve, you sure are not.... "AT LIBERTY TO SAY". "....IT'S THAT... TIME AGAIN...."
This is insane. Can't imagine the work that goes into this. And the VFX is done in a way that makes it feel more natural than it actually is. Mostly due to the color grading I think. And it also reminds me of the games at times. Honestly looks and feels better than some recent big budget movies. And the actors are amazing as well. The casting for Gordon and g man are perfect. I really wish we'd get a complete series covering the whole story. And if we are officially getting something you guys need to be involved.

I thought the visuals were very faithful to the source material and they were integrated into the action particularly well. The action itself, while at times a little cliche, was clearly planned out and looked significantly professional. The portrayal of Gordon Freeman was quite unique and very intriguing. I do have a few critiques, though, at least from an Armchair Critic’s perspective. I would personally suggest that more time was devoted to developing the extra characters so that the audience would care more when they die. I think the tension would be heightened in that regard. This would also not only make the characters more likable and interesting, but it would add to the running time in a relatively inexpensive manner. Overall though, fantastic job with this series! Keep making these short films, you guys deserve more credit! Also, that song was fucking awesome.

It's really important to me to hear critiques and thoughts on the project. One of our concepts had soldiers using the doctors as bait and it had several additional characters. However cost and lining up peoples schedules was tough. Especially when many people were working for free. Originally we planned a whole season but our first crowdfunding campaign came up well short. So I polled the fans and they said they would rather wait for something that was better.@@britneyhochman5204

Valve should help you make it a movie or a serie (serie would be greater in my opinion) since you pay it a great respect. Even if freeman did talked, he doesn't speak much and it's really appreciated. Even musics/soundtracks, I can clearly recognize ammo picking, weapon reload , etc from the game. Just sends me to childhood (I played it when I was 8 =p ). Thanks for the memories, I wish you good luck and keep up this impresive work ^^
Simply impressive! The actor who played Gordon Freeman deserves an Oscar, at some points I felt like I was in the game itself, it's a shame we don't have a Half Life series, it would win a lot of awards. I'm Brazilian and an eternal fan of Half Life \o/

Valve should help you make it a movie or a serie (serie would be greater in my opinion) since you pay it a great respect.
Even if freeman did talked, he doesn't speak much and it's really appreciated.
Even musics/soundtracks, I can clearly recognize ammo picking, weapon reload , etc from the game. Just sends me to childhood (I played it when I was 8 =p ).

Simply impressive! The actor who played Gordon Freeman deserves an Oscar, at some points I felt like I was in the game itself, it's a shame we don't have a Half Life series, it would win a lot of awards.
