Thanks for demonstrating how bad the haswell issues really are, I've been told about them but haven't seen them before. I hear Alderlake fixes the issues with Vista so clearly something about the biglittle architecture made intel fix something that they probably didn't even know was broken because by the time haswell was released, Vista was pretty much dead.
Source of Windows Vista running on Alder Lake? Interesting, probably unintentional tho. But yeah, it also affected post-haswell cpus too but AMD Ryzen CPUs aren't affected.
Windows Server 2008 (same codebase) was still alive though. Microsoft made an updated to fix the bug on the Server 2008 extended updates eventually I think.
Cool video. I did this about a year ago on a ThinkPad T440P and the experience was horrible honestly. It went much smoother for you. I had to do a dism /apply image to get Vista to even boot on it.
Vista on Haswell is kinda of painful experience but as if I'm right, Windows 7 build 6519 fixes this issue which is a feature called "drift correction" and maybe you could try it.
I am sure this is exclusive to Haswell because I tried Vista on my broadwell laptop last year and it works no issues. And I also see your vid where you install Windows Vista on Intel 10th Gen and it works. You can try it at your own if you use Intel 5th gen or new but I still recommend you go for Intel 3rd gen and older because the drivers will be a issue
This is what I needed considering that I have a 4th Gen i7 (i7-4510U), and really did not want to use Windows Vista on a VM, and if I installed it on my PC I really wanted Aero (which VMware does not have using the 11 drivers since they don't have new ones). Edit: Can you please give the files to get the 6003 update.
It'll still have issues and nothing really changes much with it. Really not recommended to use Vista on Intel Haswell and newer due to worse corruption of the OS itself overtime. www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4493471
Does that Snappy Driver have USB 3.0 support? I got an ASRock Z97 Extreme 6 motherboard and it doesn't have any rear USB 2.0 ports, just multiple 3.0's that don't respond. Only USB that works is one for my front USB header connector for the front of my case. Sucks because I have to keep switching back and forth between my mouse and keyboard as im stuck with that one front single USB 2.0 port.
Hey, do you know why I got a bsod after I restarted? I installed Windows Vista 64-bit and can't get past the bsod. I have an i7 4790 and a gtx 980 and 16 gb of ram
Last year I bought a Vista home prem box and installed it on a Dell laptop with a celeron m 2 ghz. it was not bad, but 7 on the laptop was better. I will install Vista on a PC with a video card
Intel Has "not been so" well

I think the architecture fix had been already started since the 10th gen Intel era.

0:41 does this mean SP1 can be installed on a UEFI only PC with secure boot disabled?
0:40 Doesn't that place actually go to Windows XP 64-Bit Edition?
Let's don't speak about intel itanium... 🤐
@@BobPony Yeahhhh that's for the best.
Well, Itanium EFI is quite different from modern UEFI so I guess that Windows Vista is indeed the first version to support UEFI

What are the names of the songs used in this video?

How?
Is it me, or is the music slightly lower pitch than it's supposed to be?

And also I wonder why Windows Vista works super fast on Intel Broadwell

Great video Bob! Were the problems mostly from Haswell being newer than Windows Vista and/or not having much support?
Both, but mainly support.
@@BobPony I see!
@@BobPonyDoes windows vista have problems with sandy bridge (2nd gen)?
No
@@BobPony Thanks!
those issue are from 4th gen to 11th gen for some reason in vista
Also happens on Haswell Xeons (from e3 to e7)
Bob Pony, какая у тебя карта захвата?

Windows 7 on 13th gen i9 when 😵💫
The ethernet is not working on your motherboard since ive seen you use a gbit usb adapter?
The built-in NIC supports 7 and newer officially.
@@BobPony oh

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s part of the clock drift issue. Betting it’s some kind of service that failed to start.
@Bob Pony maybe I'm going to reinstall Windows Vista and see what happens
@Bob Pony fixed it, I installed windows vista sp2 ultimate and disabled clock sync, and now it works 😌❤️
Can it because of the Haswell's hardware bugs? I heard that Linux had to apply Haswell workarounds
Not really haswell specific. All generations from Haswell to Coffee Lake are affected as well. Curiously AMD never had this issue.
Does skylake also has this issue?
from 4th gen to 11th gen has the drift bug. 12th gen and higher fixed this because of a different architecture
OH NOOOOOO!!! MY BELOVED VISTAAAA!!!!!
Everybody acting like windows 10 security is unconfigurable.
will this work in 11th gen? or will these problems still arise
hello Vro
Excellent Video.
That's so strange...
Now try running windows vista and windows 7 on a 13th gen i9/i7 CPU.
Vista SP2 😍🥰
i ran it stable on a ryzen 2600 before so intel issue ig
Vista was bad for the majority of users stuck with lower end hardware.
Try installing Windows 2000 here.
I have Intel core i5 4460 so that's interesting for me
Last year I bought a Vista home prem box and installed it on a Dell laptop with a celeron m 2 ghz. it was not bad, but 7 on the laptop was better. I will install Vista on a PC with a video card
Windows Vista on 32GB RAM.
