    Windows Vista is in my Opinion the most beautiful OS Ever Created. It was my childhood too. I remember playing Moorhuhn Kart and Train Simulator on it.
    You're doing the very best PC Experiments on RUclips. That's exactly the content I really want to see. Thank you so much for doing that! That's incredible!

    • @marcuscook5145
      @marcuscook5145 11 месяцев назад +2

      I agree with this. I thought it would never get more beautiful than the early Mac OS X versions (especially Snow Leopard and earlier) but Microsoft really outdid themselves with Vista. It's a real shame that A. the UAC was too aggressive B. They did not initially get vendors in line with proper driver support and C. 3-5 year old hardware ran it poorly if at all without substantial upgrades. It was a huge jump in memory requirements from XP. The 32 bit version would allegedly run on 512MB but it performed poorly. It really needed 2GB of memory. It also needed pretty recent graphics hardware for all of the eye candy. The oldest thing I've gotten Aero to run on properly is my old GeForece 6800 Ultra from 2004, which was only 2 years older than Vista. The long life of XP had allowed everyone to become complacent and it was a given XP would run well on anything since it was designed to run well on a fast Pentium II with 128MB of RAM.

    Some tips: Don't forget to apply all updates, including all optional updates (especially platform updates, which adds DirectX 11 support) to the system. You can also apply all securities updates (including meltdown and spectre patches) from Server 2008 "R1" and they give extra 6+ years of security support at least.

    2:24 the Windows Setup booted succesfully because that's the Windows 7 Setup customized with Windows Vista Setup skin, so that’s why Windows Vista failed on the second stage, you should have realized when you saw the Windows 7 Bootscreen instead of Vista starting from the USB and in the moment to check that acpi.sys file is the 6.1.7601 version (2:39), the same build number of Windows 7 SP1 boot.wim file vs acpi.sys file v6.0.6002 (2:51), the build number of Windows Vista SP2 located of install.wim file (the OS obviously). I had a similar experience with the ACPI Bluescreen installing Windows 7 on a 2018 HP laptop (AMD Ryzen) but on my main 2021 desktop PC (AMD Ryzen) got installed succesfully without any issues and worked very well for me, i think the problem is the compatibility with the chipset that doesn't depends of the hardware's age. Always there are modern chipsets that can run old OS's than another older ones can't

    since Microsoft released platform update for Vista that made vista supports dx11, a game runs in dx11 with vista support still not commonly seen.With Genshin Impact works in extended kernel which is a dx11 game, I think it will be interesting to see how many dx11 games works in Vista

    • @charginginprogresss

      Windows 7 doesn't have extended kernel, so it has vastly inferior compatibility with newer programs.
      Ironically, until someone releases extended kernel for them, both Windows 7 and 8.1 are currently behind Vista on a lot of stuff, compatibility wise.
      Vista on the other hand has lots of issues with hardware compatibility, while 7 and 8.1 run perfectly fine on 2023 hardware.
