Angst is the newest masterpiece from Rammstein
Rammstein describes the dark-clad figures as Zeithüter ("Timekeepers"). The girl on the hay wagons is mentioned in the credits as a daughter.
This makes sence, because Oliver is 51 yo, but he looks so young, you just want to assume that's his girlfriend :D

Out of all the reactions to this, you guys are the first I've see to get the First / Last gasped breath at the very end.
You may also have noticed when the band members are in the path of the sand, some are trying to hold it back and others are resigned to its passing, allowing it to pass over them and some the sand is flowing away from them.
This is in my opinion is the best song / video since Deutchland saying that the new new one Angst is pretty darn fantastic as well.

I've seen this Zeit video several times now. It always hurts my heart and makes me cry. I get scolded when the person I live with catches me watching it because of my heart issues.
It really is cutting deep yeah because it shows you how vulnerable we, out lifes and the people are. Especially if you’re watching it in different moods you always get a different feeling of it.
I want to thank you for being one of the very few male reactor that didn't look shocked or horrified when they show the scenes of the women giving birth. I was already expecting to see a look of disgust or some comment on how they shouldn't show that. So thank you very much for being a mature adult.

This has nothing to do with maturity... you have to put it in the cultural context. In America, every nipple or even suggestive words are censored. Many are simply amazed that such a famous group dares, or that it is normal for them to show something like that. It's more of a culture shock than a pupertary reaction to a birth that is taking place.
The women were not giving birth they were going back into their mother's womb. The theme is showing the people going being back in time and the plea is for time to stop at the perfect moment but time always continues and the perfect moment is when your born and when you die.

This imagery is so powerfull, the moment of birth might be graphic yet is there anythingelse that captures the struggle we all go through with time passing being both beautifull and coupled to intense pain better? This is pure art, nothing remotely shamefull or distastefull about it in this context.

i am bavarian, so german, so talking about RAMMSTEIN.These dudes are from east germany which doesnt exist anymore, thank god.
They use a very graphic video and lyric way and you will have to dive deep into their lyrics to understand . Thanks to youtube there are clips to explain. Also they use pictures which on purpose are shocking...confusing. This is their way. Someone said if you think you found a new idea Rammstein has done it before. Now sure i am aware you dont speak german( ein kleines bisschen was pretty cool Lady) please find clips on youtube about the lyrics and their video message.
I can almost promise you will like it.

Na ja, du mürrischer alter Bayer. Gott sei es Dank, obwohl ich im Gegensatz zu euch nicht gläubig bin, dass diese "Typen" wie ich aus der "Ostzone" sind. Dazu noch im ungefähren Alter. Denn wenn sie nicht aus "Dunkeldeutschland" wären, würde es sicher diese Musik nicht geben. Flake meint heute noch, dass es gerade diese anarchische Zeit damals in Ostdeutschland gewesen ist, durch die sie geworden sind, wie sie jetzt nun mal sind. My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

You're good examples that everybody experience time and this song in other ways and this song can emphasize your current emotional state. Just watch it when having a bad day or you have a sad mood. Never experienced anything like this before with a song.

I just saw them in concert, nothing better. RAMMSTEIN is a complete package, lyrics, video, music, Till Lindemann is a poet in his own right. I really got into them watching Rammstein in Paris, since then I am a hard-core fan. The songs keep getting better and better

No, I don't think it's that, I need to read a translation to understand but I still didn't laugh. I guess some people laugh whenever there's too much emotion of any kind, similar to those that cry from happiness for example.

Love your reactions guys! As far as the the line "stop, please stop" its more like please be still or stand still maybe... there's some wordplay going on but thats what makes sense to me.
Its suggesting to stop time where it is because its the best time you have in that moment. Like he says „ ein jeder kennt den perfekten moment“ - everyone knows the perfect moment.
And we want to keep that as longs as possible.
So stopping time seems to be the best way to keep it as long as possible

Apparently all of it is real sand and no CGI used, hence the blindfolds. The sculptures at the end were even made by sand carvers.
It wasn’t the grim reaper, it was the three incarnations of time, past, present and future. And it wasn’t dust it was the sands of time. Did you notice the hourglass shape with a mirror image of the women giving birth in bottom and on top with the sands flowing through the hour glass. This is a more epic song from Rammstein than most of their songs. But it is not translated correctly with "Time - Stop" as you read the translation that you have found. Actually it should be translated as: Time - please stand still". The difference i see here is: "Stop" means there is an end. "Please stand still" means that one want to freeze time at some moment, knowing that i won't stay frozen forever...

I think the woman turning into a child is just a reminder that everyone is someone's child no matter the age. We tend to be more sympathetic or take greater notice if a child dies but to the parents, does it really matter if their kid dies at 5 or at 50?

Nothing is bad about giving birth. They just do not show it on t.v. in America. It is blurred or from a different angle. It just caught us off guard since we are not used to it. It was funny.

Another thing that came to my the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?

I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but this tune is VERY similar to a Christian song “Every soul needs a Savior”. I was just listening this song on the radio and was like, “Wait, this is Rammstein’ “Zeit” song tune. And that song was like 15 years ago popular on the radio.
