I had a very bad cyst in my eye.I thought, could I possibly put yarrow tea in my eye?so a rinsed my eye with a 50/50 wash of yarrow water and contact solution, the next morning the horrible infection was almost gone!after weeks of torture, suddenly my eye is getting better.and after two days of using this wash 3 times a day,it is almost gone.amazing!
So very inspiring and empowering! Yarrow grows wild on our property and it thrills me to learn the uses! We have so much right at our finger tips! I just identified St Johns wart the other day, and mullein was one of the first I identified. Nature’s abundance! Thank you for another great video!🙏💕
My dad took my mom to a Dr in Canada 70 years ago. He gave a recipe for curing cancer. 1 ounce each of yarrow, garlic and parsley. I have drunk this tea for 70 years when I feel a cold coming.
Dr. Christopher absolutely loved this plant. He claimed that this was an herb that could think, it would decide whether something should heal itself from the inside out or the outside in. I have infused Yarrow with several other plants in avocado oil and I apply it to my sons clenched hand, contracted, from a brain injury. We have applied splints but he removes them in the middle of the night. He tends to grow something in that crease between the palm and where the fingers join onto the hand. I have tried everything on the market and nothing takes care of this infection like growth. I apply my salve to him every morning and within three days it’s all gone.He does not go a morning without using that. Thank you for your knowledge and I did share this with my girlfriend whose husband is going through kidney stones and kidney issues right now. Bless you for what you do and thank you.
Thks!!! My story... Me n hubby was on the utv n a raspberry bush stem thorns snagged his leg....we grabbed a chunk of yarrow leaves...chewed them up n put it on his leg...left it on there for a few minutes...once removed u could see where the hole was n the dried blood where yarrow stopped the bleeding👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰
Roselee, I feel like I lifted a veil and discovered a magic world of self healing. Your videos are just amazing. The information you freely share is empowering. I'm deeply grateful for your kindness in sharing so much of the knowledge you've spend a long time acquiring. I hope you know how much you're appreciated. Thank you. Angela
I’m new to yarrow. I was recently at my daughters house and asked if I could walk her property to look for herbs. Specifically yarrow. My property has none. I walked past a spot in her yard where a septic issue had not been mowed around. Yarrow was growing along the side. I was excited. I asked if I could dig it up and bring it home. She said sure! One less weed😂. I’m hoping it grows in my herb garden.
You've started a little love affair for me with Yarrow! My Nettles are getting a little jealous!!! Finally my patch is in bloom and since last year when it was a mere little patch it has now filled the front of the bed I specifically have for it and I am overwhelmed to report I have a rainbow of colours! I bought pink seeds and planted year before last, and spread a few seeds from dried plant I was using last year also (not from my own patch) now I have white, yellow, peach, pink and red! Go figure!?! I'm feeling pretty blessed 😊 Got Guido's book last week, ordered when you spoke with him about it. Such a wealth of knowledge in it, same as your own, so glad to have them on my shelf 📚
Hello, wow, yarrow is a superstar! I have been using the powdered leaves as a septic powder for my dog grooming business; when I clip a nail too short, I just applying to the nail, and it stops the bleeding and works wonders. I had another use for this beauty of a plant; the other day, my husband somehow almost knocked himself out with his hammer. He was bleeding between his eyes. I cleaned him up, applied the yarrow powder I had made with the dried leaves, and the bleeding stopped instantly! I half to keep my eye on him, lol! Thank you so much for all of your beautiful knowledge!
I simply LOVE your channel. Am fairly new to it. Starting up a very neglected allotment (in the Scottish Borders) & would love to incorporate many herbs & flowers to create remedies. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 😊
Solid research and great overview! I recently harvested a small amount of yarrow stems, leaves and flower and sealed it with Everclear for later use. Thanks for showing us the possibilities of herbals in health.
Very interesting video of Yarrow.. and another example of not putting an herb in a box. I am very curious about yarrow and MS as well as you said showed helpful for fatigue. I am extremely curious how/why yarrow would be helpful for this. And in the video said in the study they took up to 500mg of yarrow a day.. would that be using that amount in a tea through the day?
I was surprised to find that study myself! And am curious about what that might look like in clinical practice. I am guessing that was in a capsule. Here's a link to the study: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30599916/
I have your book! I did not realize you were the one who wrote it. It is a very good reference and I enjoy the recipes and information along with the photos and descriptions of each plant and their use. I keep it on my coffee table for quick reference and interesting reading for my guests.
Hi, thank you for being in our herbal village! We do not have any information on foxglove. In the show notes (under the video, any video), we have a variety of links you can check out. I recommend getting on Rosalee's newsletter list for one email a week, which will guide you through this amazing herbal adventure! Cheers, Karin Rose
Hi, in general, you can use either fresh yarrow or dried yarrow for tinctures. The bigger question here is did your yarrow look vibrant and fresh when you harvested it? You get the best from herbs when they are in good condition upon harvest. Warmly, Karin Rose
Thanks for all the good thorough information! Question for you: I made a tea out of the flowers and it promoted a heightened sensory experience. Is this a side effect of yarrow flower tea?
I can't say that I have heard that before, but it doesn't surprise me with yarrow. There are always idiosyncratic reactions. Was it harsh or unpleasant?
But if our gut bacteria was well balanced there would not be the need for the reliance on these herbs as often as our failed health is dishing us up today in our modern times.
My opinion is that one reason our gut bacteria can be imbalanced is because we aren't getting a wide range of botanicals/plants/herbs in our diet. For thousands of years our ancestors have eaten and worked with these plants and now, instead of deeply nourishing foods, and a wide diversity of foods that are growing around us, we eat iceberg lettuce.
❤thank you for sharing your wisdom and this wonderful episode. Yarrow has called out to me. I’m so grateful I learned so much from you on this unicorn herb! ❤
This as always is very interesting. In the spring I saw a field full if yellow yarrow. I live in NC. I was so excited. Next year. I'll cut and dry a jar full. Thank you. This year I will have to but yarrow. Do you have a particular company that you buy dried herbs from?
Hi Ramona, I buy a lot of my herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs. I also buy from a variety of small farms. You can see my listing of herbal farms here: www.herbalremediesadvice.org/Herb-Farms-Wildcrafters.html
This is from almost a year ago now, but I had the thought that maybe what looked like a field of yellow yarrow was actually tansy, which is a very different plant and can be toxic, so to be careful and very clearly identify the plant! Usually wild yarrow will be white, not yellow, and could have pink coloring as well.
Is it ok to go in the garden and grab different herbs to make a tea. Like can I mix yarrow, mint, parsley, fever few? Or is it best to stick with known recipes?
You can mix things however you like. Until you have experience, though, it is best to stick with tried and true recipes. It's kinda like cooking. You can add a bunch of ingredients together and have a wonderful meal, or it can turn out terrible. Experience in cooking adds to the chances of a wonderful meal. ~Karin Rose
I always made tincture according the folk method but want to do it more professionally. If I understand correctly, the ratio is 1 : 5 (but is that in grams, ml?) anyway. I made it in grams but than the alcohol does not cover the plant material, not even when I crumble it. When I eyeball 1 : 5 parts, that can't be right as that depends on how fine you make the plant material... so I need HELP :D THANX and blessings
It can be tricky! That's why I have an entire course, Rooted Medicine Circle, on how to making strong herbal medicine - specifically for folks who want to move beyond the folk method. Often times to get these ratios to work you have to get the plant pieces very small, even more than crumbling.

IS THE YARROW LEAF 🍃,
BENEFICIAL ❓,
OUR YARROW DID NOT BLOOM , BUT WE HAD PLENTY OF LEAVES 🍃 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, yarrow leaves are great. They should also have that strong yarrow smell. Hopefully your yarrow will bloom next year, they do love sun.
