Then the solution is simple; wake up the young highly paid group by trading one of them, nothing wakes up a team than trading away a high priced star ... the question is, does Dubas have the guts to do that??? For a Nylander or Marner, you could get a package of a good backup goalie and a Top 2 defensive D ... somebody to play alongside Reilly not named Cece.
@rob bouchard True but that's not a solution because he's gone and not coming back ... Dubas is going to have show that Shanahan bet on the right guy and it might have to start with trading one of the big boys ... Nylander, Marner, Matthews.
James I would trade Marner before i traded Nylander. Nylanders actually worth close to 7 mill. Marner isnt worth close to 11 mill. Yet as bad as Marners contract is, there are teams desperately needing offense who would pay that. Think of the kind of players or defensemen we can get for 11 Million.
I have been watching this painful display of hockey for 45 years...and with the exception of the Gilmour, Clark era...(at least they played hard every night..with entertainment value)...this latest team of vastly overpaid players that glide around every night and call it hockey...without Andersen in net they would only have 5 wins instead of the 13 they have currently...if you can't or won't play good defense in today's NHL you will never win anything that involves a trophy.
@@glenholmgren1218 people have to remember this team I'm pretty sure has 13 marlies players lol. Also in terms of playoff if we play at this rate we might actually make them. Look at every team in the Atlantic besides Boston. Hahaha
Just a reminder: "I think for them, they are still a young group of guys and I hope they’re going to learn," Ovechkin told reporters at the morning skate prior to tonight's game. "It’s up to them how they want to do it and if they want to play for yourself, or if they want to win a Cup, they have to play differently."
Words of experience - unfortunately it doesn't seem like the message will resonate with these three...they'll have to learn the hard way over many years until (maybe) they care enough to do what it takes "to win a cup". AM, Marner & Nylander may very well be on a cup winning team in the future, but for now it seems like a bad misjudgment by the GM to think that by making them all financially happy and together that they'd win now. We'll see.
.It's hockey, they can look bad all year and still win a Stanley cup, with some lucky bounces. Ask the Blues and Lightning what the regular season means in this lottery of a game.
@@UtilitiesINC Sorry but disagree, - lucky bounces don't win a Stanley Cup unless all of the other pieces are there first, which it's becoming apparent they're not for this Leafs team
I was feeling this way a few weeks back, I started the season optimistic but now its evident the support player are not there, the D is weak, the top 6 is playing average at best. There is no heart in this team. None. Hey AM34 and Mitchy got paid so who cares right? Its funny how good that Nylander contract looks now.
Nathan MacKinnon comments from yesterday: MacKinnon said he'd be prepared to leave money on the table once again in 2023. “We have guys that we wouldn’t (otherwise) be able to bring in,”...“On my next deal, I’ll take less again. Because I want to win with this group.”
Mike A if Marner, Matthews, and Nylander left 1mil each on the table, we could actually afford a proper backup, but the greed set in - It is evident none of them care enough to want to win and care more for the name on the back of the jersey than the logo in the front - JT left 2mil a year in the table to come home and play
I heard from a very reliable source that they were thinking of firing Babcock to act as the scapegoat - the players have done their best to hang him out to dry and are hoping it will happen .... soon - keep it here and I will update if I hear any new snews on this
Thanks for the update, that could be epic! If it happens, I predict they'll hire Keefe as Babcock's replacement, the team will respond by winning 3 in a row, but then lose 3 of their next 4...so?
I think the Leafs are quickly becoming the example of why you don't pay players huge contracts before they win anything . The main guys on this team are set for life financially, why block a shot, take a hit. Let the other guy do it, I feel no hunger from any of these players , maybe it changes .
We also need to have a serious talk about what Matthews is actually as a player. Honestly the worst thing he could have done was score 4 goals in his first game, it set a bar we all bought and I don't think he is matched it since. Yes 100% he has an elite wrist shot, is he an elite player though? He can 100% be an elite player one day, but he isn't yet.
sspeller7 he is an elite player today there’s no question. He has tough stretches but those get magnified by the media/fans. If you look around the league at other star players, they go through the same dry spells you just don’t hear about it. He isn’t as good as TSN would have you believe, but he is elite
@@michaeldearby3945 I just feel like he's nearly a one dimensional player. He's got speed and a wrist shot, is he an elite at faceoffs? Does he have any defensive game? (I know his job is to put pucks in the net but still give a little shit in your own end at least) He barely uses his body. I just feel like maybe after 4 years the hype train should slow down a bit. I'm not going to any extremes and by no means he is a plug, he just has to round out his game a bit to be a true threat. How many games can you say he's dominated in the last 3 years? How many big game moments has he had?
@@michaeldearby3945 I think once this team's support structure was lost in the summer the spotlight has been put on him and the other top guys and its kind of shown they're not ready yet.
sspeller7 for you to question if auston is an elite player or not proves to me you don’t know hockey. Look at his numbers, what do you expect a hat trick every game?
I'm on the fence as to what has been more enjoyable...when they were suppose to be terrible and were, or they are suppose to be amazing...and are terrible! Both are pretty great though!
The Leaf teams in the '80s were owned by Harold Ballard, and you KNEW they had zero chance of winning the cup because (1) he wouldn't spend the dough to get a good GM, coach or players, and (2) he would say or do something idiotic that would ruin any possibility of the team doing better or a good player wanting to come to the Leafs. Was he the worst team owner in the history of professional sports? He was in the conversation.
Why does Tavares get a pass all the time? He was brought in to be an elite player AND a veteran leader. He was handed the captaincy after one year with the Leafs. So why isn't his ability to lead when things go bad not being focused on?
My open letter to Brendan Shanahan) Dear Brendan Shanahan, Bob here. When I heard you were gonna run the Leafs, I must say, I had high hopes. I mean, here you were, a gritty Irish kid who played the game the “right way”, and by that I mean honest. I heard you had character, leadership, and honor, so what could go wrong? Well Brendan ol’ boy, being a Maple Leafs fan since 1970, that’s one question you never ask a Leaf fan. When I started rooting for this club, Jim McKenny still had “potential” written on his name. We had Jim Dorey, Rick Ley, and Mike Pelyk on defence, so anyone with potential was worth grasping for! How were we to know Jimmy would be a much better Newscaster than hockey player? Still, right after Jim, a young kid with a mop like Bobby Clarke cam in, and presto, there was a buzz in the Garden. Throw in a mustachioed kid from the West, a Swedish defenceman with heart, and a lunatic named Tiger who’d do anything to protect the Swede and another Swede who couldn’t break an egg in the corner, and things were exciting! Well, you had to be there Brendan, you see, we had an owner named Harold Ballard who was crazier than Tiger, and more media hungry too. He couldn’t let a proud tradition like the Maple Leafs take center stage, so he started dismantling the club. Little did we know what was coming down the pike. Still, waiting to see if Roger Neilson came out with a paper bag over his head was better than watching Kasperi Kapanen making a pass to Alex Kerfoot. We managed, under the astute eye of a guy named Gerry McNamara, to turn Lanny, Sittler, and Tiger into Wilf Paiment, Pat Hickey, Rick Vaive, and Bill Derlago. Hey, we even got 50 goals out of Vaive, PLUS we had our version of Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy Lapointe in Fred Boimstruck, Bob McGill, and Jim Benning! This didn’t translate to much though, and slowly we morphed into Poddubny, Frycer, Inhacek, and in came Al I’m Afrate, Dan Daoust, and some young studs named Leeman, Courtnall, and then, Wendel Clark! Ahhh, Wendel, now there was a saviour! This kid came in like a jackhammer and gave us something to cheer for, even though we really stunk. I hadn’t been this excited since Claire Alexander became more than a milkman! Still, it was too good to be true, cause Wendel was just too much for his own body, and he started getting injured a lot. There were good pieces there though, Vinnie Damphouse, Daniel Marois, but most of all, we got a G.M. who knew how to fleese folks. Cliff Fletcher turned us into a contender when he plucked Dougie Gilmore away from the Blues. Other moves that had Ellet, Zezel, Cujo, and other character guys, along with a hard-nosed coach named Burns brought us as close as I’m likely to see in my life. It was short-lived, but it was nice Shanny. I think you were in St Louis around this time, but who cares? All of this tumbled soon afterward, which brought us to the Mats Sundin years, which included Tie Domi, Freddy Modin, Yushkevich, and wait for it, Darby Hendrickson! Whoa, it got bad man! We got Owen Nolan, Dimiri Khristich, Robert Reichel, and the list goes on! You know what Shanny? The highlight of those Mats years? It was Tucker, Corson, and Domi bringing grit and heart to the table. I remember Darcy jumping in Ottawa's bench more than any Mats passes to to Sergei Brezin. Just sayin'. Wonder why that is? The next phase of this sorry franchise came when Burkie brought his hot dogs and grit and truculence to the city, but he made a similar move that you're making right now, he hired Ron Wilson, who didn't believe in tough hockey, heart, grit, but hey, even he was willing to carry players who would bring a little heart to the table. Not Phyllis Kessell, but he did have Dion, Brownie, even Colton to keep things honest. This brings us to the present Brendan. The "Shanahan" years. You ready to have your name attached to where this is going? You might think I'm upset over your team not having fighters, but that's not what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about is heart. You built a team with tons of talent, and NO heart. None, nadda, zilch! This is the most pathetic club I've ever seen, and I'm not talking about skill, but as a team unit, I've never seen anything this embarrassing. The bench doesn't utter a word all game, and for that, YOU Brendan should be appalled! Even when John Kordic went in his own end, Jeff Brubaker put a pass on the tape, Bill Berg sideswiped Pat Burns driving, I felt something, but this? I feel nothing. This is a really empty feeling. I've felt many emotions in my years as a Leaf fan, anger and embarrassment being first and foremost, but empty is a new one. I think it's cause we longer have an identity. Even when we were laughingstocks, at least we had an identity. At least I could look at guys on the roster with personality to relate to. Tiger, Tie, Kordic, Eddie Shack? Rocky Saganuck anyone? Oh, how about Jim Korn getting pummeled by Bob Nystrom? I'll take that even. Trying to watch Garry Nyland skate? C'mon, I'd even take Kurt Walker and Scott Garland on the same line on the power play. Gimme an olive branch here. Now? Nothing. All I hear is silence and entitlement. Ok, I'm done Brendan. I'm trying to say that, with the player you were, the last thing I ever thought was this club would be one without an identity. It's more perplexing than watching Jeff Blair trying to figure out why your club's not winning, right after mentioning you gave away Connor Brown, Ron Hainsey, (and all your other grit players in the last few years) and not connecting the dots. In retrospect, why do we remember Wendel, Darcy, Tie, Tiger? Why do we remember Lanny, Darryl, Borje, Dougie? One word, Character! Well, that felt good Brendan. I needed to get that off my chest. I know it means nothing to you, because analytics say that a letter like this won't win you games or change minds. Fear not Brendan! Kyle Dubas (who reminds me of John Ferguson Jr in terms of competence,) will steer you in the right direction. Just keep leaving all your common sense, instincts, and experience in his strong hands. Thanks....for nothing.
I'm just trying to figure out what made people think this team was a cup contender to start off with. They haven't even won a round yet and they lost a bunch of experienced players... The only way this team gets scary to anyone in the league is if they start to score so much on the power play everyone is terrified to hit them. They can't match most teams physically but they're not built to. I think it's a very risky way to build a team but they are what they are. They need to score so many goals their defensive deficiencies and their soft playstyle don't matter. They're not doing that now and it's hard to imagine they will score more in the playoffs when everyone tightens up even more and starts playing harder.
1 thing about the leafs is that some players don’t give it 110%. Look at Nylander, I barely see this guy hustling after the puck, he’s just gliding not putting in effort. Same thing with Tavares, Matthews, etc. I like Hyman because he works hard. He dosn’t score often but he’s the one that’s causing all the goals because he’s winning all the battles and you win battles by working hard.
I finally agree with Jeff here. He seems to have the job of being the contrarian to create conversation. But he is so right. Babcock might've been a shitty person, but he's a good coach. Good coaches are assertive. Good coaches make players scared so they follow their system. Think off all your minor hockey coaches. We've all had coaches who DIG into and SCREAM at you to get you into shape and follow their system. I'm not defending Babcock's actions, but he did what he needed to do. A coach can't get a team to WANT to win. A coach can't make you put an effort in. You make millions of dollars, I don't understand why that team doesn't want to pour their heart out for their team every night. I think we can all agree that when we feel we've played a great game, you feel good about yourself. Winning is so fun. They CAN win, they just don't want to and I don't understand. The leafs are so talented and they rely on everyone else (especially Freddy) to work for them. It honestly makes me sick. They've gotten into the habit of losing and I don't see them getting out of that soon.
KiNGHDx nah man a good coach makes u want to play for the system and improve in the system. A coach that just yelled and screamed at us made me not want to play and fro am scared to play for his team. Yeah I was feeling this about a week or 2 ago. I don't think the leafs can even limp into the playoffs if this keeps up for much longer, they're already several games up on a few teams and behind in points. We got half our cap in 4 forwards and they're not producing anything, there is no grit on the team, not to mention our backup situation is also not good and defensively the team sucks. I don't know how they can turn this around at this point, trade Nylander and get a decent backup/dman? what team would even be interested in that sorta trade?
Well the GM recently stated he believes they can break the will of the other team "a little bit", not in the rough and tumble way, but through offense, puck possession and speed 🤔
@@Mike.A. yup, and I can see the Leafs doing that, in game 78, when they have already been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention and the other team has clinched a playoff berth and aren't taking the game as serious as the Leafs...

Gee. I believe I mentioned the lack of grit on the leafs. Everyone knew the defense core had more holes than Swiss cheese. I’ve also pointed out the lack of a solid backup goalie. Bottom line is Dubas built a flawed team. You can’t pay four guys over half your cap and expect dominance. Dubas is the issue
I'm sick of people saying that the blues made some big comeback last year. They had multiple games in hand, they were only a couple points bellow the other teams in the central AND, they were in a shitty division with teams like Minnesota, Chicago, and also Winnipeg had a horrible second half to there season. They were basically given their playoff spot.

I haven't seen a Leaf play the man at anytime this year...they continuously simply wave at the puck when they are defending, not one body check, not even a body pick for that matter. I mean for god sakes they don't evan try to get in the the players way. They actually wave at the puck on the players stick while letting the player skate right around...it's pathetic.
Kyle Dubas is overrated IMO. He needs more seasoning in the minors/junior league. It’s easy to dump on Babcock (he did himself no favors), but Dubas is the one who’s responsible for constructing the team and negotiating contracts. He overpaid the prima donnas and the team can’t afford to properly round out the roster.
Sean Holton how so exactly? Aren’t these guys professionals? I’m not defending Babcock, but it’s too easy to point the finger at him. The coach didn’t construct the roster. The coach isn’t the one who’s weak on the boards, slow to back check, hustles on scoring chances, but floats in the D zone, etc, etc. Too much emphasis is placed on the role of a coach. Yes, it’s important, but look beyond the media narrative.
Dubas overrated? I don't think he is. That would imply that people think he's good at being a GM when actually, I think he's a bit of a joke among the other League management.
I feel your pain as a habs fan, Drouin, Byron, Mete, KK all hurt now for the habs. 1 win in last 10 games and it’s looking more grim every passing day now.
Humiliation is a great teacher in sports leagues. All these losses will certainly result in desperation. Kyle is running up against the reason Lou didn't overpay. There is a reason that Vet players are valuable. Now it is set up in such a way you may have to trade a big money guy out to get back some grit and the not-panic guys who just know how to work hard, hard, hard.
Give me a break, when this power team hits the ice it shouldn't be about winning it should be by how many. This Toronto team could be scoring up to 8 or 10 goals per game.
We keep hearing that the leafs are an elite team... an elite team doesn’t play a good game ...an elite team plays fantastic every game with the exception of a few games... they will never be an elite team...
They are an elite team. They just dont want to grind & put the effort in to winning. They are a bunch of talented players who dont want to exirt themselves to their fool potential . They have been paid . What else is left ? You dont have to win to get paid. That's Toronto for you.
I gave them a chance first few games Keefe was in. Completely agree though, At this point in time the team is what it is. They wont change. This roster better change drastically during the offseason. Every player on this team making 7-8-910 million looked like they cashed their cheques and went home. They should be humiliated.
I figured it would go down hill as soon as they gave Marleau 18 million. they needed defence not old forward's that never won a cup same as JT way over paid. and still need defence and a bit of toughness not fighters toughness and I'm sure there's enough talent on this team that you could put 1 dominant line together.
I hope Anderson’s mental health is okay because I feel like he goes into the games and thinks I have to be in net, defend, attack,pk,pp. it’s clear he’s the only ONLY reason this team is even a team. Freddie know we love you
Been saying it for years. Jack eichel is the superior player when compared to mathews hes just never had the player support. Hes really showing how good he really is the year. Showing how much better than mathews is. I wouldn't even say mathews is a top 10 player in the league
The four headed monster signed by Dubas are not being paid to learn anymore. They are among the top paid players in the league. Dubas messed up, his experiment is a failure, and he's up against the cap. To even bring in a half decent backup he's going to have to give up assets or picks. This is simply not acceptable. Fire Dufas!
i love how mad sportsnet/tsn is at leafs fans even though they created those delusional fans from hyping up the team for 3-4 years like they were some contender..
I love these guys. No bullshit. They say it like it is. They’re REAL fans. They love the team and are pissed off. JUST LIKE US. We need to be pissed off!!! Over paying these average players
i'm telling you the loss of Gardiner and Kadri was monumental. Sure they lost you games 7's, but they also were the ones that got you there. Barrie and Ceci aren't 1, 2 defenseman in this league. More of 3s and 4s. Matthews is great, but their somewhat performing to how i expected them to when this whole "dynasty" started in 2016.
Ceci is a 7th dman at best . we sens fans had to suffer and had to watch him for years. he's never accountable for his poor play every night because he had a free ride from management from day 1 for some reason. he's like Zack Smith but on Defense
Yes you are right. They have absolutely no push back at all with even a mildly physical team against them. Even the high skill level doesn't shine through consistently like I thought it would. Dubas gambled and at this point he has really messed up! I hate to say it but they are a mediocre team.
I don't know how anyone didn't see this coming with what Dubas did to the roster. He took a team with shit D and traded or let go of the only guys that could play D. Then got rid of the last bit of grit this team had. If you're surprised by this you're a terrible armchair GM. You're fired :)
Look at how many games in hand the blues had while they were in last place. They were 1 point behind the Kong’s with 5 I say again 5 games in hand. 1 point behind the flyers with 4 games in hand. They were not in last place
This is very easy - the team is soft and no one respects them even in the slightest Given the above is true, what do you do about it? - Shanahan allowed this disaster to happen while incharge - fire him immediately - Dubas is a child, with a make believe philosophy about boys beating men in a physical sport - fire him immediately - we traded our only guy who gave a shit - Kadri - fire everyone involved in this transaction Every team takes on the style of their leader (Matthews) - which is, I don't give a shit just pay me - trade him immediately Matthews - Eric Lindros said, no way in f'ing hell am I going to Quebec - the Avalanche then got everything they needed to become a dynasty - open up the bidding to every American team and turn the Leafs into a powerhouse of guys that give a shit - Matthews MUST go - he's a cancer
Especially how much he’s making is ridiculous. He has so much value you can get so much for him if you pull the trigger to trade him now, Cause he’s gonna bolt out in 5 years anyways so might as well get return for him now & have a more balanced team that is not Cap strapped like it is now. I totally agree with you. And Marner is our best player left he’s the only one that deserves his contract
The JT curse is starting to look like the Curse of the Bambino . . . that money would have better spent on defense, goaltending and depth. The Leaf fans are finding out what we Isles fans knew, the stats are great but there was something lacking in how to win games.
St. Louis had goaltending and defence. They also had grit and balance throughout the lineup. They were not an experiment with how to build a team. Without Anderson, Leafs are a bottom feeding team.
I’m telling you man we never signed Tavares our centre depth could of been Mathews-Kadri-Bozak-Accari or any mix of that we would of been way less cap strapped and could of got a way better D core
Auston Mathews has a terrible attitude as a sportsman & it's cancerous to the entire team chemistry. He just never played and responded like he truly cares about winning.
Is there any show or channel doing a more general take on the league and the news? I already watch this (too much Maple Leafs) and Tim&Sid. Suggestions anyone?
Hyman-matthews-nylander Brown-Tavares-marner Jvr-Kadri-kapanan Johnson-bozak-marleau That's what this team should be right now. Nobody can tell me the power play the main guys here had is better then the one we have now
The Leafs are 1 point out of a playoff spot . You'd think that Buffalo, Florida, Montreal and Tampa are running away with playoff spots in the Atlantic the way people are talking, while neither of those teams have been playing significantly better than the Leafs
The season was list when Dubas overspent salary cap and when Leaf fans made excuses for 94 mil Sal cap. Here's an idea maintain a budget which doesn't involve LTIRs to balance budget. Try keeping money at hand to not discourage your 1st and 2nd round draft picks and future picks. Currently Dubas is moving Aberg Marincin etc from minors where these guys had 1 way contracts playing there.

@@maciekgutkowski8075 Marner yes but Nylander wouldn't fetch a top 2 Dman + backup goalie. Top 3 Dman and backup possibly.
@@maciekgutkowski8075 who can afford them? Is there 1 team in the NHL that has an open 10 mill on their cap space?
James
I would trade Marner before i traded Nylander. Nylanders actually worth close to 7 mill. Marner isnt worth close to 11 mill. Yet as bad as Marners contract is, there are teams desperately needing offense who would pay that.
Think of the kind of players or defensemen we can get for 11 Million.
Leafs win three games. "Roll out the carpet the boys are back"
Leafs lose 2 games. "It's over, there a mid range team not making the playoffs "

I hear no lies in what Ovie said.
This was the first and only time the Leafs showed some emotion.
Ovi learned that lesson the hard way and gets it now. He's dead on!
We'll see.
Spoiled kids... I watched the leafs through the worst years and it’s almost harder to watch them right now..., Because the talent seems to be there
no, it IS harder to watch them. their a joke
Too much too money to young players too soon = 2019-20 Leafs
What do you expect when they're scoring heavy but terrible defense

The talent is overflowing. The toughness that caused dynasties in the past is not there.
This team could compete for dead last league wide if Anderson gets hurt...
And then the Leafs will have no choice to trade away one of their highly paid players.

Anderson's on Ottawa...

What are they hoping will happen soon?
Thanks for the update, that could be epic! If it happens, I predict they'll hire Keefe as Babcock's replacement, the team will respond by winning 3 in a row, but then lose 3 of their next 4...so?
I think the Leafs are quickly becoming the example of why you don't pay players huge contracts before they win anything . The main guys on this team are set for life financially, why block a shot, take a hit. Let the other guy do it, I feel no hunger from any of these players , maybe it changes .
how about you don't hand out 3 forwards $11 million each a season. I would've taken the compensation and traded them for valuable pieces.
Turns out teams need grit to motivate the stars. All skill and no will
Its like a fighter with all skill and no chin. One good shot he is out.
He's certainly an elite player. Matthews is honestly the least of their problems.

But I got Paid Right !?
I prefered watching the Leafs of the 80's. They sucked too, but at least they had more heart, and were not an overpaid bunch of prima Donna's.
I'm on the fence as to what has been more enjoyable...when they were suppose to be terrible and were, or they are suppose to be amazing...and are terrible! Both are pretty great though!
garbage take here lmaoo

My open letter to Brendan Shanahan)
Dear Brendan Shanahan, Bob here.

Cant wait until Dubas gets the boot, he put this team in a financial crisis! They don't even have enough money to get a decent backup for Freddy.
DJahjeBand724 dubus is the problem he’s an idiot! They need a Gm who knows how to win in the NHL
I agree but the good news is they have these guys under contract so they can make a trade and make the team better. The assets are there.
They'll never be in a financial crisis lol, too many stupid fans willing to pay

Kyle Dubas is overrated IMO. He needs more seasoning in the minors/junior league. It’s easy to dump on Babcock (he did himself no favors), but Dubas is the one who’s responsible for constructing the team and negotiating contracts. He overpaid the prima donnas and the team can’t afford to properly round out the roster.
Chevelle 1 i dont like the leafs but they need some time with this new coach. Babcock clearly fucked up this team

Not 1 team fears the Leafs, they all know that they're soft and if you keep the puck in there end and grind them down low its an easy 2 points.
Fast Eddie yea tbh when the bruins were about to face against them I was just thinking on they are not good
Yes you are right.
I like O'Dogs passion.👍
Tell that to the st louis blues last season in january! I wont give up on my leafs till it's over! 💪💪💪
Real shit! You aint a real fan until u go through it till the end.
Are you guys high? Cocaine is one helluva of a drug.
Storm edwards lol. How many times does it have to happen. This team has a giant fork in them. They are done.
Look at how many games in hand the blues had while they were in last place. They were 1 point behind the Kong’s with 5 I say again 5 games in hand. 1 point behind the flyers with 4 games in hand. They were not in last place
@@karanbhagat9227 for how long tho, 67 years 😂🤷♂️
GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!
This is
SOMEHOW
Marchand's fault.
😂
Thats what you get from a kid GM who gets fleeced.
It seems like his version of winning the stanley cup was to sign all four players and keep them
Most young people these days including the GMs don't understand the value of grit.
Yup, he's a joke!!
Yup, everyone knows the old saying, never send a boy to do a mans job.
This is very easy - the team is soft and no one respects them even in the slightest
Given the above is true, what do you do about it?
- Shanahan allowed this disaster to happen while incharge - fire him immediately
- Dubas is a child, with a make believe philosophy about boys beating men in a physical sport - fire him immediately
- we traded our only guy who gave a shit - Kadri - fire everyone involved in this transaction
Every team takes on the style of their leader (Matthews) - which is, I don't give a shit just pay me - trade him immediately
Matthews
- Eric Lindros said, no way in f'ing hell am I going to Quebec
- the Avalanche then got everything they needed to become a dynasty
- open up the bidding to every American team and turn the Leafs into a powerhouse of guys that give a shit
- Matthews MUST go - he's a cancer
Especially how much he’s making is ridiculous. He has so much value you can get so much for him if you pull the trigger to trade him now, Cause he’s gonna bolt out in 5 years anyways so might as well get return for him now & have a more balanced team that is not
Cap strapped like it is now. I totally agree with you. And Marner is our best player left he’s the only one that deserves his contract
I agree totally.
So glad, incidentally, that Lindros never won a cup!!
Without Anderson, Leafs are a bottom feeding team.
too many player with the same style.
I’m telling you man we never signed Tavares our centre depth could of been Mathews-Kadri-Bozak-Accari or any mix of that we would of been way less cap strapped and could of got a way better D core
yup JT was a bad signing.
leafs media STILL giving dubas a free pass... smh....
As much as I want I see the Leafs fail, this might be too early to say this
pegcitykid I seriously think people are overreacting especially since the team is better than it’s been all season IMO
You sound like you've been humbled recently. Habs fan?
Alienated TV close, Jets fan. Last season was two different stories.
Ikr I hate Toronto media for this reason
pegcitykid Ouch, I felt that, too
how about learning to stand up for each other
Auston Mathews has a terrible attitude as a sportsman & it's cancerous to the entire team chemistry. He just never played and responded like he truly cares about winning.
This edition of the leafs are plain and simple not good enough !!!The leafs will be very lucky to catch a wild card spot.
Wayne Ellis and if they do it will be against the isles the caps or the bruins which would mean a ticket out of the first rounf
Is there any show or channel doing a more general take on the league and the news? I already watch this (too much Maple Leafs) and Tim&Sid. Suggestions anyone?
Hyman-matthews-nylander
Brown-Tavares-marner
Jvr-Kadri-kapanan
Johnson-bozak-marleau
That's what this team should be right now. Nobody can tell me the power play the main guys here had is better then the one we have now
Still curious as to why this program isn’t called the Toronto maple leaf show
Seeing everyone cry is just funny. I've watched a bad team for years and never cried this hard.
I wonder if there was a guy like Hayes in St Louis last year saying the similar things about the Blues?
They're winning 5-2 in St. Louis... Uhhh yeah....
Bucket and book it!
fivebythree 10-0 of noobison is in net
BRO
Trippy
O-Dog is right on the money saying that players wanna get paid like the big boys, they need to play like the big boys.
So how do you feel about games like tonight with against the blues?
Bro I'm a Canucks fan and I thought the leafs coulda won the president's trophy before the season started.
