      I agree, and he is one of very few players with huge talent, and the ability to go "black eyes" when truly into the game. If you were on his team, the black eyes were the best thing ever, if you were on the opposing team, its "shit, now its gonna hurt". Sadly that kind of physical play takes a big hit on the body, which ruined his career. Many people say he would have been the best ever if he would have stayed healthy, its true, but with his offensive hit playstyle, staying healthy is a 0% chance. As a swede growing up during that era, Forsberg is by far the best player Sweden ever created. Salming was great, he made it possible for non north american players to join the league, but thats mostly because he could handle the beating. Lidstrom is top 3 defensemen of all time, but he wasnt the complete player forsberg was. As in most sports, its A LOT harder to be recognized as an offensive player than a defensive player, and when it comes to forsberg you had both, and a true menace on the ice as well.

      @NHLineCombo  3 месяца назад

      @@berrab68 yeah I’ve always admired the great players who can dominate physically too (funny enough just like prime Lindros) - I think I still have Lidstrom 1 for Sweden just for how long he was great for. Foppa an all timer though, would’ve had amazing numbers if healthy

    I loved big e but that was the worst trade the Flyers had ever made..until the bryzgalov contract. They still have 2 more years of his contract to pay off. He only played 2 seasons before they had to buy him out. The worst part was letting Bob go to keep him. Disgrace. But who knows where the Flyers could've been had they not made the infamous trade for big e and kept the gems they had. I'm glad briere is gm. I've been fortunate enough to meet him a few times and he's a great guy that KNOWS hockey and is young enough to clearly remember his own journey and he reflects it in his work ethic and how he treats his players. Gotta disagree, lindros was in his prime before the Steven hit a better all around player. Forsberg had better hands , but go watch highlights of lindros in his prime, he was the best player in the league for several years. Now, what we gave up to get him was way way to much. That I agree with. But If lindros stayed healthy and with the teams they had back in the 90s they win multiple cups if they ever freakin got a goalie! Peter Forsberg Comes Home...To Philadelphia - Find the title somewhat funny. Philadelphia Flyers drafted Peter Forsberg 6th overall in 1991 but traded him away to the Quebec Nordiques before he had ever skated in the Flyers jersey (In hockey history's biggest trade with him) +
    - Steve Duchesne
    - Ron Hextall
    - Kerry Huffman
    - Mike Ricci
    - Chris Simon
    - Flyer's 1st round pick in 1993 = Elit goalie Jocelyn Thibault 10th overall.
    - Flyer's 1st round pick in 1994 = traded away and became Nolan Baumgartner.
    - $15 million cash
    For the grand prize Eric Lindros (!). With facit in hand - only Forsberg + 1st pick 1993 alone was worth the trade for Nordiques!
    And when Forsberg was signed to the Flyers in 2005. they only kept him around 1,5 season before they traded him away.
