    You don't need to install extra tie down brackets, all you need are two double ended loop straps around the mono fork to create two tie down attachments for ratchet straps. A double ended loop strap is about 15" long and you just wrap two of these around the mono fork tube to have two loops one in each side to ratchet strap to. These aftermarket tie down brackets are week and also where they mount can damage your bike.

      Interesting suggestion, Adam...I do believe that is a good suggestion, but the attachments I added have been great thus far. I particularly like the one I have attached higher to the mono fork. Thanks for sharing your experience. Ride safe!

    Love my Erickson re-tractable ratchet straps. Four thousand pounds limit. Used 4 of these straps on my open motorcycle trailer a month ago from Florida panhandle to Cheyenne, WY, and back. Absolutely no problem…and no strap ends flying around.

    Hello Jason, I love that you shared how you toed the Gold wing. I wish my Hallmark trailer was just a little wider so we could trailer the trike gold wing. I know if we could we would travel more. 💕NonnaGrace

      I like to take my bike with me when I go on vacation, but I don't always want to ride it only--my dog and golf clubs just won't fit no matter how many bungee cords I use! Thanks for watching!

    At first I didn't see that wheel chock up front and I'm sitting here thinking, oh crap its gonna tip over. haha Those mounts on the front of the bike are cool. Really make it easy to strap down. Gonna be shopping for a trailer probably in the spring. Have a few trips planned but don't want to ride the whole way. I like how your trailer has those rails down each side. A lot of options for tie down locations. 🤘

      Yeah, I'm happy with the way I set up the little trailer. Originally purchased before I bought the Gold Wing--so glad it fits! Thanks buddy!

    I'm sorry but trailering is a word that I dread. It envisions thoughts of post accident moments and other ungodly things that would cause my Goldwing's tires to leave contact with the ground while I'm not on it.

    • @JP1970
      @JP1970  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I know a lot of folks feel that way, but for me, it just means we are going on vacation and the GW is coming with! 😃😃😃

    I don't tie down my Harleys to the handle bars either. I also don't compress the forks. I put the straps around the fork lowers so they won't compress the forks. Those brackets are nice.

    • @JP1970
      @JP1970  3 года назад

      Thanks..I'm pretty happy with the new bracket. In hindsight, I guess I don't need to strap down to both. I think I can just pick one. 😀😀

    When transporting on a trailer do you have to put the bike in transport mode? On a Harley you do as the security system will regonise movement in the trailer and go off and flatten your battery.

    • @JP1970
      @JP1970  21 день назад

      @@paineys3341 not necessary with the Gold Wing or my Ducati…I remember having to fool with that when I briefly owned a Heritage. Kind of a pain I think.

    Good stuff!! You can’t tie down the Goldwing like a conventional bike due to the double wishbone suspension up front, it will do some damage if you do it the ‘normal’ way using the handle bars. I have the same aftermarket tie down bracket you have as well as the Goldstrike tie down brackets. Love how the Wing just fits into the trailer! 😎👍🏼👍🏼

    How do you like the Fire and Ice seat?

    • @JP1970
      @JP1970  2 года назад +1

      Hi Doug. I absolutely love the Fire and Ice seat...need to do a follow up video on it. I was nervous to try Corbin seats, but there was no reason--best seat I've ever owned, and I've had a few: Mustang, Sargent, and now Corbin. Best of those for sure. Thanks very much for watching!
