      @muskokamike127 Год назад

@@niltonganhao2051 I have NO clue who tuned me into this, go karting? car racing? I dunno but with gearing and throttle, you want to JUST hit your max speed at the point you have to start braking on the straight.
If you peak too soon? You're geared too low. If you are still accelerating? you're geared too high.
It makes sense because if you're geared too high, you won't get good acceleration out of the corners too because you'll bog down. If you're geared too low, you might get oversteer and spin out and if you have lots of grip, you'll unweight the front wheels and get understeer.
But what do I know? I couldn't make it around that track once without wiping out. I have the hand eye coordination of a turnip lol

      Weight
Weight is key, you’d be surprised on how much weight you can lose with just using different items, screws, bolts for instance
A car lighter is better than a car making max weight
The kit issue items are all binned for lighter products.
Be surprised the time difference per lap and the handling

@@escos0410 oh for sure, that's why switching them all for titanium is often done.

Me & my brother did a bit of local racing back in the 80's & possibly 90's. Some outdoor grass track & indoor carpet also. The main thing I remember is the stress of a brand new shell getting trashed by some aggressive sod! And screaming "MARSHAL" to get my car righted! I don't think I was cut out for it!!!! We only ever used Tamiya's, Boomerang & Super Sabre, so were never going to be fully competitive. The Schumacher CATS of the day were absolutely amazing off road, the best drivers were incredibly respectful & ruthlessly efficient too. Good times.
All the best to you Phil, & everyone else involved!

Regarding the shock filling with oil and bleeding you should put the spring retainer on the bottom before compressing to bleed because it will actually be a tiny bit less compression since it's up to 3-5 mm less that it can compress and less oil squirted out. Because obviously under use it can't compress that far .. slightly underfilled shocks just won't work quite right and sooner till they need refilling.

A suggestion if you put your rear shocks upside down you get some insane searing. I did that to my 6.4 today at the track and it was night and day difference. It makes it to where you are able to transfer the weight in the rear end a lot quicker and lowers the cg down a bit. I am also running 35 in the front and 30 in the rear. it allows for more searing.

You're racing a Professor of Motor Neuron Biology? 🤔 I reckon you could take him!
But seriously, our Kevin Talbot has got a pretty good set of thumbs - and a fair bit of racing experience. You'll need some track time to get a feel for how racing 'feels' compared blasting around freestyle.
You know how to drive - now you need to hone your race-craft. Consistency is the key. Error free laps. The faster cars often look like the slower cars - because they're making cleaner lines and less time sliding or going wide.
Getting around the track cleanly during practice when you've got the whole track to yourself is very different to when you're in a heat with 5 other cars (who all want to beast you!). Ultimately, that's the only way you hone the race-craft, while also learning the etiquette side of things too - this is important - pointless finishing first if your round is disqualified! 😂
From this video, not only will it be a contest - but your rival will likely become a new racing buddy!
MB Models is where I got my Xray XT8 and Sand Scorcher re re from - 10/10 model shop.

Springs control the stiffness. The fluid in the shock controls the rate of dampening. Thinner fluid will have less dampening but if springs still the same then it will be as stiff. Change springs first to get stiffness needed then check for rebound. If bouncy then thicken the shock fluid until there is a dampening effect and no springing about.
