I cant explain how happy I felt after hearing his voice and seeing him doing well, although I feel extremely sad on seeing looking so old, no one is forever, but I will follow and love Metallica even when they won't be here, I love you guys, thank you for being part of my life
I just said the same thing. Its beyond hard trying to grasp the fact that I'm probably going to be alive the day these guys (any of them) leave this plane of existence. I know it happens, I know it's natural, I know I've never met any of them personally. But when someone is with you throughout your whole life through their music, their supportive messages of encouragement buried beneath lyrics that scare others off, I think you bond deeply with those people. I can't even describe the respect I felt hearing "Orion" in the Paradise Lost documentary. These guys aren't just musicians, they are human beings full of love, who built an empire off the sadness or despair that tried to grip them throughout life. Metallica have been here for me more than anyone in my own family, and I've never met them. I 100% love these human beings as if they came from the same vajayjay. Theyve impacted me so many times in many ways over the years. I'm proud to have the "And Justice For All" star tattooed on my wrist, it was one of my first, and no matter what, Metallica will always live in my heart, and will always have the BIGGEST space.
Hetfield looked pretty good for his age for a long time, but it's just before he went into rehab where seemed to suddenly look older. At least he's healthy, and in a good place now.

This guy changed my life with his lyrics and music. I got the chance to see them back in 2017 and seeing him and the guys up on stage... I forgot the world existed their entire set! You hate to see your heros get older, in my mind James will always be the era of Justice to Black album but I love seeing him now! the things the man has lived through and endured, it's so inspiring!!! I cannot believe I have dam near grown up from 13 to 45 listening and mimicking his guitar playing, constantly going to every damn concert played and I mean the entire east coast up into Canada when the guns and Metallica tour came along. I was like 14. Kirk was my guitar idol and as much as I love you Kirk James will spank that ass on the down pick bro. I love Metallica. They held the keys to the metal door I was knocking on my whole child hood up into my mid 40s. Never won any of the sweepstakes they had but I’ve tried like hell. One day I will own one of Kirk’s Sigs and James sigs. Then when I die I’ll be creamated and my ashes used to texture a guitar. Send it to James and Kirk so they can say “yeah I played that song with Pablo”.

Buttery smooth and sustain for days. Surprisingly great for my not so metal playing these days. I look forward to the album! :)

My mum passed away suddenly from a heart attack when I was 17, I blamed myself for a year from then I had 2 paths to go down. One was to better my life and succeed, the other was to spiral out of control from drink and drugs…. Chose to succeed in life, I’ve had some really dark times in my adult life but I like to think I’ve managed them as best I can with my support system
I would love to spend a day with Papa Het running around in our muscle cars. I always play a few Metallica songs on road trips in my 69 442. In fact, I even have a few tickets because of And Justice For All...😅 That said, the wisdom you could learn from his Alcoholism, Fatherless upbringing, and all the other stuff he's gone through would be priceless. I am happy you have been so open about your life because your music helped us get through our lives.
Just saw Metallica in Edmonton on August 23. That was my first Metallica show in my 52 years. Wow, if I could, I'd go to their next show on the 25th. Amazing is an understatement.
