It’s crazy that Robert is almost in all of these recordings of the songs and Kirk just comes in for the solos. Trujillo legit makes the band work harder and better.
They seem to be in great physical shape for a bunch of 53 year olds, especially Lars on the drums and James' downpicking. Also they seem to be having a lot of fun while still working hard and concentrating on the album. Keep up the good work guys
The Undertaker It's the best groove oriented song on the record. Spit Out the Bone is the best thrash song and probably the overall best on the record imo
I think it is like that because that guitar (and a couple of others) have history with James and are irreplaceable compared to the the Snakebyte or Iron Cross.
James' old Vs and Explorers are only used for recording now. They are beat to shit, but have some of the best guitar tone of all his axes. Classic songs were written and recorded on those beauties.
You even see the Jackson King V that James used during the Master of Puppets tour that Jackson gave him to use to hoping he would join their artist roster.
His old explorers are only for the studio now because they are really fucked up from constant touring and playing and they won't hold up if he brings them on tour now.The EET FUK I read it was repaired probably 100 times.
I love those vocals melodies James is singing at the end of the video. I like it maybe more than how it is actualy sung on the record. In my opinion this song is like the hiden gem of the album. Amazing piece of music. Very underrated.
Really cool to get a glimpse into the creative process; of how even metal legends like these guys sometimes try something that seems silly, even to them, and they eventually craft it into something great.
I dig these documentaries, I loved the honesty on the St. Anger doc (and the Album!), like the insights into the process and seeing how much force and diligence go into making a song.
i LOVE seeing the process of making a song - i am in awe of how talented and creative they are EVERY song surprises me, EVERT song speaks to me when i listen to any new album for the first time, it is also a process - you don't get it right away, you try to guess where it is going, you hear certain chord changes, key, timing, and your heart skips a beat, OR you wonder "why did they do that?" some songs leave you breathless, some songs make you think real deep, some songs are just for fun. i cant get enough of Metallica - I've literally grown up with them, and every album has its own significance you cannot pick a favorite song, it changes all the time but this one? this one is special...it makes my heart ache and this video is GENIUS!
Lars' creativity and talent have never diminished. He's just lazier when it comes to practicing these days. Drums aren't a high priority for his time. His choice.
Thank you guys for releasing this "the making of" clips to all for free! (but it also would be cool to have them all on some kind of deluxe version of the album)
Oh man i would love to see more of these! I really am impressed by the whole album there is so much to like. And seeing how they are made is simply twice the fun.
I think this is potentially my favorite song on the album, I'm so happy to see how they created such a masterpiece. James is killing me with his cuteness and coolness. ❤🤘🏻
So awesome. I'm so glad we get to see all this behind the scenes stuff, they never disappoint when it comes to giving fans plenty of content. I could (I do) watch this stuff for days
Lmao the part where Lars was doing the Double Bass part for the end of the song the Producer was like "Someone should check the Snare" and then Lars was like "Someone should check the drummer" that was pretty funny :p but this song is pretty awesome to listen too it's on of my favorites on the Album besides Halo On Fire and of course Spit Out The Bone :p
Yeah they went back to their roots with spit out the bone, straight dirty fast thrash metal like we like it.a shame they only did 1 song like that but can't complain, overall hardwired is a pretty good Metallica album :D
Not only do they give us free songs from the new album, but they give us backstage pass for a little while. Couldn't ask for more, seeing their creative process is so cool.
Caio Cesar a lot of metallica haves the taste of black album maybe they wanna makes more black album volume 2 , 3 example that song and the unforgiving 2 and 3 on few words metallica tone is half step down and d standard ( sad but true) and speaking of that song on this record dream no more sounds a lot of sad but True Tone !!! St anger was more original !
One thing this album does really well is keep everything at a consistent quality. Every making of video has tons of comments about how that song is the best on the album. Its really cool. On a lot of albums, there's usually a much more widely beloved song than the rest.
Hear me out: the ascending-descending part (like Rob plays at 7:22) would be bad-ass with brass horns. Maybe trombones on the first up-and-down, joined by trumpets on the next one. I always hear it that way, and I have no idea why.
I wish i lived in 80s. But i was born in 87. Then i could go to Metallica's concert in Seattle or Ozzfest with Master Of Puppets. Time flies so fast, i can,t bilieve that Lars looks like my grandpa with that grey beard. But still they kicks ass. Great job! :)
Creating a damn fine tune and totally enjoying themselves while they do, Metallica in a good place, long may they stay that way, love James wearing a Jump in the Fire shirt, dudes a legend
Lawson Russell Lol!!! that's just sad man. LMFAO!!!! SAD BUT TRUE!! But it's funny how "Enter Sandman" the one Metallica song where Kirk wrote most of the guitars, is the song that has made the most money for them. With saying that though, next album they need to bring back Dave Mustaine.
8:33 Glad James changed those high melodic lines. The final cut is brilliant, the low voice on the verse conducting to the fierceful chorus is one of the best parts of the song.
I never noticed the heartbeat thing til now, holy crap that's awesome. I have to say this song is my favorite off the album, so much so that it was the first I learned how to play (I learned it this weekend). The second one being Murder One, and I don't know about y'all but I need to see how they wrote that one up cuz that song would've made Lemmy proud
This is amazing the way metallica treat us is just amazing
It's not letting me back out of this comment.عبدالله النعيمي

Hater gonna keep on hating on Metallica because their miserable bands can’t play arenas. And yeah they sell out everything
They seem to be in great physical shape for a bunch of 53 year olds, especially Lars on the drums and James' downpicking. Also they seem to be having a lot of fun while still working hard and concentrating on the album. Keep up the good work guys
I just love the part when Lars says "No, no, no, Shh, Afterwards" and then James says to him "DON'T USE IT" and he es like "NO!"5:48
Say what you will about Lars but the guy is the driving force of Metallica.
Of course he is. Anyone who actually thinks with their brain knows it. Lars and James are amazing songwriters.
The architect
Lou Kola - WE'RE amazing songwriters
Rob B. We? lol
Who is WE?
Lou Kola lmao
This is the most underrated song on the album.
Last time i checked everyone loves this song
Can't wait for the making of 72 seasons
Not coming
Why not
@@jostinjuice4012 because most of the album was made over zoom or email
Only time will tell, but IMO this album will be remembered as one of the best albums that metallica ever did.
The first four albums were an upward trend in evolution - this album finally plugs it back in.
MehYam2112 death magnetic plugged it back in imo
The Mermalair i love death magnetic so much
"That's a really cool thing Lars"
Kirk is so amazing I can't even-
8:53 we need this version of Here Comes Revenge
Totally agree!
One of the best songs on the album. Who's with me?
Wade k 21 Me
Wade k 21 yeah totally agree
Wade k 21 me
Wade k 21 I love it
Wade k 21 Me too . The video is also very interesting .
That riff is awesome, probably the best of the album
I love these behind the scenes videos, keep 'em coming! :D
O yeahh
A fantastic, if often overlooked song in their library.
6:03 - 6:18 Lars's energy n skill "hypnotized" all of the people in the room 🤘😎✨
for me Here Comes Revenge
best song from the album
I agree, I love it
I haven't picked a favorite yet but its one of the best on the album for sure
The Undertaker It's the best groove oriented song on the record. Spit Out the Bone is the best thrash song and probably the overall best on the record imo
Worst on the album IMO
I fkn love this song
So, the legendary "EET FUK" is only for recordings right now? It will be great to see that guitar in a concert someday.
I think it is like that because that guitar (and a couple of others) have history with James and are irreplaceable compared to the the Snakebyte or Iron Cross.
When do you see the EET FUK?
James' old Vs and Explorers are only used for recording now. They are beat to shit, but have some of the best guitar tone of all his axes. Classic songs were written and recorded on those beauties.

The stuff James does from 8:30-9:15 is better than the album version. Not that the album version is bad but holy cow that stuff was amazing.
I agree. He sounds incredible here
Very Black-album-esque.
Here comes revenge and spit out the bone are the best on the album
James Haygreen Am I Savage is my favorite. Don’t kill me. I see it as a sequel to Of Wolf and Man
Revenge and Savage are the best in this album
@@_nurmi06 controversial!
I see Atlas, Rise! as the best song on the album!🤘🎸
I love Halo on Fire and ManUnkind.
Halo, Man, Spit and Revenge are The Best 4 imho
This is my favourite song on the album! \m/
I'm still in love with this song
So cool that they share this awesome experience with us and that it is free on RUclips
The making of Spit Out The Bone and Halo on Fire
CarimboHanky I'll take that bet.
I want Video evidence of Lars actually playing "Spit out the Bone". :D

I've been in bands for the last 30 years and it is truly amazing to see how long Lars and James have been working together successfully. Not easy!!
I wish more bands had videos like this
The origin of “72”.
I thought the same lol
is it me, or at 6:23 they all COMPLIMENT Lars' drumming??
Lars' creativity and talent have never diminished. He's just lazier when it comes to practicing these days. Drums aren't a high priority for his time. His choice.
He played like mike tyson on steroids lolll
It all sounded sarcastic to me 😂
The Making of the best song on the album.
Cássio Amaral Thank you!!!!
Cássio Amaral Best on the album is a tie for me between this song and Spit Out The Bone
"Now That We´re Dead" MASTER RACE!
This entire album is the best song on the album.
The Making of the Metallica song with the most cringe lyrics ever

So the 72 Seasons concept was around even before the Hardwired album was released
8:12 - and the crowd goes insane
On the first play of the album this was one of my least favourite songs, but now it's one of my favourites.
It certainly grows on you. Really, dark, chilling and evil it is.
I thought the same exact thing. Great tune!
for me right away, my favourite.
Dead.Skin.Mask mine too
This and Atlas Rise especially start to grow on you after a couple of listens.
6:45 I dig James's thin lizzy thunder and lightning shirt!! So cool!!

Now the 72 makes sense
5:16 look behind, it's the 'EETFUK' guitar!
what does "EET FUK" means?
This is so cool.
I could watch you guys all day.
And listen for hours.
James' vocal parts at the end have a bit different melody than on the album and it sounds beautiful.
I love this videos so much! Hopefully there will be one for each song
