A rosewood telecaster is one of my dream guitars but I don't think I could spend that much on it. As much as id love a signature of my favorite Beatles guitar I can't justify the price. Might try looking into building my own.
I used to work at Warmoth and lemme tell ya, you’d likely end up spending comparable money that results in a less refined version than the true Fender release.
Through most of the 90s I played bass with Delaney Bramlett. George Harrison had given him the rosewood Telecaster. So I've played it many times. To tell the truth, it wasn't really a great guitar. Heavy and thin sounding. That's probably why George gave it away. Nobody really liked to play it. One day Delaney was playing my bass. I had taken the finish off of the neck. I like the feel of raw wood. Well Delaney liked it too. He handed me the Tele, and asked me to do the same with it. Believe me, I tried to talk him out of it. But he insisted. So the next day found me on my front porch, sanding the finish off of George Harrison's rosewood Telecaster. Delaney later sold it at auction for $375,000. Ed Begley Jr. Bought it, and returned it to George's family. A classy move.
This is my dream guitar. The most iconic guitar from the most iconic band. Unfortunately my wallet is not as iconic. Sad for me, but happy for whomever can afford this gem.
1:36 The demo he plays just snatched me whole because it just sounds purely like Radiohead with a mix of Pearl Jam. What a guitar and guitarist indeed.
A guitar collector friend of mine actually owns one of these. He brought it over last Friday and I got to play it. Fell in love with it immediately but I knew better than to ask him if he wanted to sell it.
@@Gavin79746 I thought the same then prices went up crazy during the pandemic and now after “Get Back” I doubt they’ll go down in at least 5 years. Also, companies are using less rosewood now.
3k for a guitar is ludicrous. I thought Fender was better about this then Gibson I guess I was wrong. Way to price 98% of actual musicians out of this guitar. Most of these are going to go to boomers that can barely play a power chord.
@@lars4355 be aware, my sale fell through as they oversold their stock. I would avoid using them, to be honest. I’ve since found another one, but I’m not feeling too confident! Hope your search is going well.
@@BD866 Yeah I wasn't too certain on andertons so I saw one on guitar center, but, to no avail the guitar is of course not available. I kind of expected this to happen however because there is only 1000 made. I also saw another website called "alto music" which they are legit too but I decided to place my order with adorama.
It sure looks great. I'd love to play that in the old teakwood basements we had in the 70's. With the orange shag rug where you'd lose all the pieces from the Operation game. How about the TV it was in a gigantic cabinet. Yes, those were the days of rock n roll!!! Good choice of room it really adds to the guitar.
One tele to rule them all! Curious as to where they sourced this rosewood, whether it's Brazilian or African Bubinga etc. When you think about the new environmental laws the guitar industry faces regarding material sourcing, especially with the use of ash and rosewood (real rosewood anyway) this is definitely a guitar that's becoming harder and harder to make and may reflect in the price beyond the Harrison hype. Will be interesting to see how these are received when they start shipping.
They are obviously doing these re-runs every once in a while anyway, so no worries, this is purely marketing... They are going to offer this one again, and again....
Id pay the the price to get this guitar. It such a nice sounding guitar. I missed it when they released it in febuary. Fender, if your reading this, can you please do another run, or a least give me the option to get it from you guys? Ive been a huge fan of these guitars since 2017 release and have been trying to get one new ever since!
Just sold my strat for $1600 and gonna finance the rest of this one. $1200 more on top, for 4 years. Literally comes out to $25/month w the $1600 down. I can manage that. Will be my forever guitar. Some come and go but I already know once I get my hands on this, I won’t touch another guitar anyways.
I am lucky to own one of these and am even luckier to have a wife who gave it to me for Christmas. It was like meeting a celebrity when I first saw it. I couldn’t believe it was in my living room. And I play the hell out of it!!!!!
George Harrison called the Rose wood Telecaster ” The worst guitar I have ever played ” in several interviews and immidiately gave it away to Delany Bramlet. Kind of sad they’re using George Harrison’s name for the justification for the price. No doubt this is extremely impressive and takes time and effort to build, huge respect to the craftsman. But seriously? $3,000?
Go take a look at the price of the Joe Strummer Esquire and then tell me this is overpriced or using George's name to inflate the price. These guitars are incredible (I have one of the original 2017 run) and play as good as a custom shop model. Yes they are expensive but not overpriced!
