Proud to say I was not deceived by Matthew! I knew from the second he just walked out on a girl when she was literally just answering a question that he asked her. Because the thing is he wasn't just awkward and bad at first impressions, because that would be absolutely fine! He was straight up rude and the rudeness of just walking out in a first meeting when the other party did nothing wrong is inexcusable no matter how awkward you are. When you're a full-fledged adult you absolutely know better than that and he just did not care. The editing was tricky though, because even though I already thought he sucked, that moment caught me off guard simply because they showed a bunch of the other women not liking him, which really led you to believe that AD was the only one he was talking to. Frankly I'm surprised he managed to fool not one, but two, women with his nonsense. Also his whole line about asking her dad's permission didn't read as sweet to me. It felt weird and outdated and sexist to only mention asking the father's permission and not the parent's permission as a whole. And even in his interactions with the other men he just gives off the vibe that he thinks he's better than everyone, not just that he's shy. Because other men were going out of their way to try to make him comfortable because they thought he was shy and he just wasn't interested in any of it. And whatever he said about guys like him "winning more" or whatever weird way he phrased it, again just made it clear that he thinks he's better than everyone else.

I think Matthew was shopping for the person that would leave with him. He didn't want to propose and thats why he 1. Said to both women he wouldn't feel right proposing without asking for their dad's permission and 2. Why he was saying to AD, "you think you want the ring. You think it will be the happiest day of your life." Do you remember that? Even when he broke up with AD, he said, "I can't agree to your process"
Those conversations felt weird as hell, but I didnt think about it the way I think youre framing it. Do you think he was looking for someone to bail from the show with? Like, “lets ditch this place and not actually get engaged”?
Questioning about their father but not their mother was weird. Sounds like a serial killer hunting for someone people wouldn't be surprised "ran off" if they're in the height of romance. Odd he latched onto two women named Amber too. Real off putting man.
You may drop the mf'n mic, you are extremely insightful. It never crossed my mind that that was what he was up to, I knew he was a creepazoid but that motivation, to take someone out of there to basically get a piece, makes him diabolical.
He showed his hand early, and even though on one hand, I commend his honesty in displaying his Douche Canoe side, I got to go with Maya Angelou on this one: when someone shows you who they are, Believe them. Any relationship M-Douche has is going to be filled with tears, verbal, physical, emotional and spiritual abuse, anxiety, betrayal, infidelity, lies and unfulfilled needs of the partner, and years to overcome. Clay looks like Prince Charming compared to him, but comparison should not be the reason someone looks good.
AD deserves the best, this ain't it.
