Thank you so much for this video and for including my comments! These conversations are so important to have for the betterment of society. I'm a Professor of Humanities that focuses on art/entertainment's reflection on society, so my life is watching shows like LIB and discussing the tough topics multiple times a week. Hearing at least once on a week how my students have experienced problematic situations like the ones brought up throughout this video but didn't realize just how much they were violated, is heartbreaking. Videos like this provide a positive platform for people to discuss, learn, and grow.
If my future husband isn't as sweet and emotionally intelligent as Mitch, I don't want him.

I don’t like the way Clay talked to AD in front of his mom and sister. That "she doesn't even work for real" comment was pretty awful. And i think it's wild that with his family history he thinks its ok to sleep apart from each other for convenience for work. I think the episodes were messy enough that not many people talked about that scene but Clay is problematic for several reasons. I think AD is taking it all in and is pretty checked out with Clay.
I agree with you, this comment in front of his family was really bad. And I get that it can be more convenient for work to sleep where you are and not drive back home. But we also have to keep in mind that they are building their relationship, he should want to be home with her to spend more time to build this relationship. They only have few weeks left before the wedding; you would think he wants to spend more time with her to learn more about each other.

You can tell that he is the youngest. It sounded like a tantrum that his family is used to. That in addition to the fact that he refers to himself as “a baby” doesn’t help.
Red flags all around,he is good looking seems to have his life together but he is not marriage material at the moment.he needs to stay single and be unfaithful is basically what he was telling her, he is not a faithful man. Why go to the show to find a wife,when you not ready? That’s is why is hard for me not to take make fun of the cast and take the show seriously.
I couldn't believe the way Kenneth gaslit the hell out of her, and to leave her there crying. I'm looking forward to him explaining himself at the reunion.

I love that you guys made a video sharing some different perspectives, it's the first time I've seen a commentary channel do this! I think that acknowledging others' opinions, allowing yourself to change your mind, and also staying true to your some of your initial thoughts/beliefs is something that is really important not only in commentary youtube, but also in life.
Thank you! Thats the balance too isnt it? Bend too much and youre agreeing with assholes and really bad people. Be too sure of yourself and youre hurting people and constantly missing the mark. We truy, Im glad people here are feeling so comfortable holding us accountable.
Many people have said “Kennith, could just sit her down and be honest about whatever the issue is”. I think what’s being missed is Kennith’s ego and immaturity. Kennith doesn’t want to blame himself, he doesn’t want to think anything he does is wrong. It looks like public appearances mean more to him than being honest with himself or another person.
It might be my former education background speaking but I feel like that trait is super common in principals.
And he still didn't own anything. In his interview it is still: she told me she is not craving for me, so I had to accept it.
Hope he'll get enough heat to understand it's not good idea to gaslight other people
@liveyourlifefree wasn't that interview wild?? It was like masked Kenneth was back but he was gaslighting all of us now. I think that's the one where he said, "[I'm glad we had that hug and ended things on a good note]". I thought, good note? What??

She initiated the conversation and maybe even the break up but it doesn’t change anything really because he still was dishonest and dismissive. It’s actually better if she did . It shows that she wanted better for herself.
Side note - but I’m new to the channel and Ashley’s voice reminds me SO much of Jenna Marbles’ voice! It’s insane how similar it is and now I need to know if they’re from the same region 😂

I would love to hear what you guys thought about all the fake single people in this cast? Finding put Trevor and Jeramy were in relationships while on the show kinda ruined it for me. I was also really annoyed that we missed the first moment that Jimmy saw Jessica. It feels like all the exciting moments are happening off camera.

I still like AD! She was my girl from the jump and I still hope she has a happy end to this whole process. I think she wanted love and maybe hasn't found it with Clay, but i feel she's handling herself well under pretty tough circumstances
i wanna know more about ashley's crochet practice! did you teach yourself? would you ever make content about crochet? similarly mitch and permaculture/foraging, i feel like it'd be sweet to see you both share more about the hobbies/interests you've hinted at. its been said many times but you two have such a great dynamic and presence on camera, im pumped to have gotten in on the ground floor here, so to speak :)

The fact that these people try to lie to save face, it just shows she’s as much of a manipulator as she appeared to be with that comment.
I remember her also asking that question 😅. But you can tell that the part when he answers is cut.
I think that this is the best part about Lib. Sharing our views and opinions and learning together. Everyone has different blind spots so sometimes others pick up on things that completely fly over my head or offer a difference of opinion that I find interesting.

We love your commentary and will definitely include more in the future. I get being nervous to film. I (Mitch) wouldnt have been ready to do this even a year ago for many reasons, mostly depression and social anxiety. Sometimes it just feels right. Maybe it will for you in the future

This is the thing. When Chelsea was complaining about him not kissing her etc, it seemed needy yes but then it came out that he had looked up Jessica on Instagram etc at that time. She probably felt the vibe was off and instead of leaving she just kept trying to get him to reassure her and he wasn’t really. Or the words were there but not the emotion behind it. If you’re in love with someone why the hell wouldn’t you just kiss her again lol.
That is something i always wondered too like are we all just liars ? Then I learned that often times ppl are just distorting. So bc our brains aren’t like computers and don’t store memories neatly in a file we often remember things based off of how we felt. So for Chelsea she could have actually felt disconnected from him and thats how she remembered it so thats how she interpreted it. Still sucks for both ppl bc one person constantly feels like they are never fulfilled emotionally and one constantly feels like no matter what they do it’s not enough. And it breaks my heart bc sometimes with us weird humans the solution seems so simple but we all just keep misunderstanding each other 😅🫶🏽

I'm white and I have a thought about Jimmy's comments about and to AD and I hope this doesn't come out wrong. I'm wondering if white ppl in general are uncomfortable around black ppl bc we/they feel the pressure to make sure we are being inclusive and make them feel accepted and we over sell it. We over compliment and are even too bold about it bc we want to make sure they know "hey we like you and accept you" which I can see is patronizing, but I think Jimmy's intentions were not to objectify her even though he did. Does that make sense? Like unintentionally racist in an over attempt to not look racist. I can see myself doing something like this not realizing in the moment that it's wrong. Though I'm sad these conversations are at AD's expense I'm glad these issues are being talked about. I think women's safety around men in general is a good topic of conversation bc I have gone a long with uncomfortable situations just to guarantee my safety and you can see with AD that her reactions could have come from keeping everyone happy so she stays safe. It's really unfortunate that us women have to do that.
I really appreciate your introspection. I can definitely see your point, especially if you are a white person who does not have a diverse family/friend/social/community around you. I read somewhere that despite the efforts made towards desegregation we (in the US) are living in the most segregated time period. Apart from work, most people don't ever engage with others. Neighborhoods, K-12 schools, churches, social groups are all pretty homogeneous. It takes a lot of effort to not be insular
@@anebasammy i did not realize that, but that makes a lot of sense and also makes me sad. I live in northern Maine which is probably 98% white, but I do empathize with the black community and the conversations brought on by the show have given me further insight specifically to what black women go through and it makes me sad. Again, so glad we are having these conversations bc I think there are a lot of white people who are unintentionally racist, myself included, but would genuinely appreciate the education on how to do better. That's how I feel anyway.

I'm not sure if you were sincere in your desire to learn more, but what I can offer up (if you're interested) is that IMO the biggest barrier to learning and growing is defensiveness. It's a very difficult task to learn about all of the various cultures and identities there are. However, if you're ever called to tasks, I hope that you take a stance of curiosity/a desire to learn more, rather than getting defensive and denying that an offense has occurred. From my experience that openness goes a long way towards being in community with others and gaining the wisdom that you seek♥️

The other thing that was insidious about the AD objectification moment was the fact that they were more concerned about having offended Clay. And if I remember correctly, they apologized to him first😡
My theory on Jessica is that she was hired by Netflix to come back as the mean girl so she could be a villain on Perfect Match 2 because allegedly she filmed that.

Really loved this video. I dont want to be called crazy so I didnt say it before, but how they treated AD immediately made me think of Sarah Baartman.

What is disturbing about Chelsea for me is how she has lied from the beginning of getting him to propose with the whole "I've been told I look like..." and then saying that she saw Jimmy spin AD around and check out her body. I watched that part of the recent episodes and he DID NOT do that! That creeped me out. I think the understanding she's getting is more cultural because most of the black women who critique Chelsea are just irritated and dismissive, myself included. And it's because, of extreme scenarios that happen in real life with people who behave this way. It can be dangerous for the other person, in this instant Jimmy.
My understanding from Laura is that the bean dip thing was a joke in the pods with the women which appears to be true the way AD said that Clay didn't know it was a joke, but I'm still not clear if they did it to themselves or to each other which can make a difference. Laura also keeps saying that Jeramy didn't do what she said to do so again it's unclear what she told him to do since Jeramy's character has taken a significant hit. If Jeramy intentionally misunderstood what Laura said, then that's the only way to defend her.
That said, too many of the other contestants are sexualizing AD and that's just not okay. I'm hopeful we'll hear more from Laura and AD on the incident at the reunion.
Chelsea does have some features and mannerisms of Megan fox’s old self before all the works she seems to have had done in my opinion.
It was all downhill for Kenneth and Brittany when the doors opened and revealed a woman instead of a dolphin

One of the channels covering the love is blind drama showed a Facebook screen shot that I thought was interesting.
They of course had the Trevor and his ex stuff, and the jeramy and his fiance drama. The one that made me like hmm.. was Kenneths cousin said he was gay.
Well they put the flag emoji and said they were his cousin. Someone commented why he went on the show and they said for tv.
So I'm curious if there's any truth to that because he is very religious. So he could be doing it to please his family or for TV purposes. It would make sense why he wasn't wanting to be touchy feely with Brittany.
It would make it not a race issue with him but just not being attracted to women. He's also a principal while being religious so maybe he'd be scared to come out.

Ive heard that. There could be truth to it, especially with the idea of him not feeling comfortable coming out as an important church member. I doubt we’d cover it without more confirmation though. Were pretty stacked up on filming atm anyway. I appreciate your comment

This whole season has thrown me for a loop! I miss the times of just people coming on the show really for love not clout.
My favorite couple will always be Lauren and Cameron. I'm glad nothing came out with them being controversial. They are so cute.
LIB has become harder to watch each season due to the dishonesty of majority of its cast. Season 1 & 2 were raw- real people with real emotions (for the most part 😅). I prefer the other franchises to be honest (Japan, Sweden, Brazil) Japan being the most genuine. Hopefully the UK franchise brings something new to the table.

I’m a bit confused about the racial part with the objectification of AD. It didn’t seem like what AD was facing had anything to do with race. AD is a woman with a very shapely hourglass figure that just so happens to be black. It’s very unfortunate how the rest of the cast treated her, but I’m failing to see how her experience was due in part to her being black. Perhaps I’m missing something?
