Chelsea’s intuition is super spot on. Remember when she kept saying she “needed to throw up” in the pods after jimmy said he loved her. That was her body screaming at her that this is not what love feels like. Her intuition was telling her when he went to the bar too. She didn’t know what was off but she knew it was something.
Not like it’s good to behave how she did but she knew it wasn’t gonna work.
I’m confused by all the different stories, because Jess (who has been very vocal in comments lol) said that it wasn’t the first time he had gone out, that he had been going out basically every night. But if that’s true, why wouldn’t Chelsea have called him on it when he claimed this was his first time since the pods? 🤨 so many sides I can’t keep up 😭
I actually cried during Amy's walk down with her brother and dad.
Loved the convo about the way Chelsea (and Jimmy) fought. It’s such a mindf**k to be in those kind of fights, too. Because in that relationship, in those fights, it feels like you’re working towards something and through something together. From the outside, it is consistently person A trying to set a boundary, person B violating that boundary, turning it into a huge fight to walk it back, and then re-establishing the status quo in a way that makes person A feel like a compromise has been reached, but it hasn’t. Person B gives no ground. But when you are Person A? It’s exhausting but it feels productive, so you spend all your time and energy on it and you get nowhere and don’t establish healthy boundaries. It can break you if you’re not careful.
It’s not even that Jimmy went to a bar. It’s that it was celebrating his friends birthday! If you can’t even let your significant other celebrate, a friends birthday without giving them a guilt trip you really don’t care about them or their friendships. It’s very selfish! It’s very childish! It’s not caring or loving! I wouldn’t want to be around somebody like that, yet alone, want to have them in my life! We all need therapy, and to figure out what’s going on in our own minds, but I really think Chelsea needs to not date anybody at all until she gets serious serious therapy. I’m really feeling bad for her in anyone that she has around her if she doesn’t get treatment
I agree. It's abusive to alienate your partner from their friends and family. It's healthy to have hobbies, interests and friends outside of your marriage. Major warning sign for further abuse to come..

Donating the money is incredibly generous but you guys are putting work in to the videos and creating free content for us as the audience so i hope you guys don't feel too bad about making money.
About the AD/Sara Ann situation: I think we're all forgetting that this is a TV show, and as such there is the very real possibility that production told them to have that conversation.
I think that's the case mainly because their body language gives the vibe that none of the girls wanted to do it. I really feel like they were forced into something to create drama.
That makes a lot of sense. Even where they talk feels a little staged

50:57 Ashley that’s a great point about Clay potentially being non-monogamous. Idk that he’s explicitly said he’s monogamous or even thought about if he is. Culturally we assume everyone is and it’s pressed upon them so maybe he hasn’t even analyzed if an open relationship or open marriage is what he wants but regardless he needs lots of therapy to untangle the damage from his father’s actions and to figure out how he wants to live his life.
I think jimmy wasn’t being serious when he said “we’re the best couple.” I think he was trying to show Chelsea what she sounds like.
Maybe but his friends did say that he gets really needy in relationships so I think it's plausible he was upset by it.
a lot of good takes on complex situations, i enjoyed this. the more i listen to you and the comments, the more i think Clay just wanted to do the wedding episode. he knew before the altar, he wasnt getting married. he acts like a very sefish person, i hope she got rid of him
Ok so correct me if I'm misremembering Jimmy and Chelsea's fight but i think we are all having a mandela moment with that. From what i remember Chelsea never said a name or alluded to what friend she was referring to. It was actually Jimmy who spilled the beans by saying she was the one who agreed to come on the show.

We didnt say or mean thats what he should have with AD. I dont think they should date. I think an open relationship might be easier for him specifically

She literally said he COULD HAVE if he wanted a marriage but not the commitment, but that he DID NOT ask, because it does seem he wants a monogamous relationship, and is just traumatized by the past w his dad. Literally no where did she say he SHOULD HAVE asked for that, nor that he should have asked AD for that, and ESPECIALLY not that AD “deserved,” that. 🙄🤦🏼♀️

Imagine when that competitiveness is between siblings, esp when it stems from a sibling's partner and your sibling enables them bc they're so in love w them. Then slowly, that competitiveness starts rubbing off on your own sibling and your sibling starts saying the most crazy shit like, "I'm the black sheep" when it was their own partner that isolated your sibling in the first place
That sounds intense. Healthy competition is great for some but what you describe is one reason among many that we both prefer cooperation instead
