Im not surprised Clay said no. In every scene Clay was telling AD why he wouldn’t be a good husband.

I think the moral of this season is, never ignore red flags
Your reaction is so empathetic and sweet. There is so much hate for AD like she got what she deserved but you two really see. If they were best friends like Clay kept saying, he would have shielded her. Even if it was a pact. Like "I'm gonna say yes, AD and you say no. It'll be iconic!" If she was in on it, it wouldn't have been so bad. My heart breaks for AD.
I think we would have been more emotional for her too minus our frustration with Clay. Thats awful that people are saying she deserved it! Shes just a dreamer and doesnt deserve that garbage
Many people are toxic on the internet and know comments like the ones you are seeing get better traction. I personally felt that AD saw all of the red flags with "helpless romantic" goggles thinking he would get all of the help he talked about getting as her husband and they'd live happily ever after. I'm much more annoyed at the producers as how to you pick Clay for this season when it is clear he doesn't want to get married.

The fast forwarding was about how I watched the episode. Nothing really compelling except, chelsea and Jimmy breaking up, and AD and clays end part of the wedding. I watched it in a half hour

I think they were trying to end it on the one happy wedding so they didn´t leave that bitter taste in our mouths, but this season has been a disaster. I already asumed Clay would say no, so I was able to enjoy Johnny and Amy´s wedding and their families were super cute, her dad made me cry.
I actually don’t know if I hate clay for this. In fact, he did the right thing. He seemed genuinely in on the experiment for the most part, and realized that 2 weeks in real life wasn’t enough to go from being terrified of marriage to all in. This is best for AD, though yes, he shoulda helped her feel less blind sighted! Jimmy even did that with Chelsea.
This show biggest value may be how much it makes us talk about the actions of these young people to each other ….it’s really educational , it reveals so many familiar personalities and behaviors of people we know and have seen…maybe should be required viewing 😂 we definitely have learned red flags , warnings of baggage, and who is performing and who is actually doing themselves….
this is why it's important to heal generational trauma, I've heard people say they just won't have kids and that's a fine decision to make but you'll still bleed your hurt into your relationships, idk it does suck but I don't wanna demonize Clay. I've seen lots of people say he knew he didn't want to get married but maybe he just didn't know what he didn't know. His mom talks about how he wants a long term relationship, and I think he did and didn't know that he wasn't ready and that he had all these issues and it can be scary to realize that you're the person who's holding yourself back. I hope he starts therapy, because it sounds like he wants things for himself like marriage but he's not sure how to get there.
I think this is why I cant hate Clay like some people seem to. His brain seems confused. He sees some things but is struggling with huge demons. Im glad they didnt get married in the end though

It's wild that in Clay's mind, the negative traits of his father (deception, treachery, infidelity) are hereditary BUT the positive traits of his mother (loyalty, honor, commitment, understanding, care for others, compassion), are not🤔

Awwwe I thought Amy & Johnny’s wedding was so sweet! The moments with her dad made me tear up! I thought it was so lovely so I wish y’all took a break & than came back to it so you could fully enjoy it!
Idk i just think it was so lovely because we got to see Amy’s family! We know how important her parents are to her but also her brother who she might assist one day!

AD did say that she was a fix-a-ho. so, I think she needs to own the fact that she knew she picking someone who needed fixed.
Clay, also said he wasn’t in love with her. So, I am really happy. He said no to marrying her.
I have dodged a few bullets. It was heartbreaking at the time, but I am so happy those relationships ended before I married them.
I know you were a mad watching, but I was really happy to see they didn’t get married. And I’m usually cheering for people to marry, but those red flags were so red, she couldn’t have painted her nails, red enough to match!
I like your take on clay feeling like he already cheated in the situation with his mother. That’s a huge secret for a child to bare. I can see how he can internalize his dads bad behavior so deeply because his dad made him a part of the infidelity
johnny and amy actually sticking to the heart of the show and being happy only to be dragged by everyone for being “boring” :( makes me so damn sad. they deserve ppl rooting for them and not being mad at them for not being messy.

When I was in an abusive relationship, I knew it was going to be extremely hard to extricate myself. So, I did what Jimmy did. I said all the ego-stroking things that would placate my BF so that he couldn’t say I attacked him, and then I told him that he would be better off without me. He cried rather than getting violent, but I stayed firm. I never raised how terrifying it was to be with him.
At that point, I ran for the hills and never looked back.
Jimmy did what Jimmy needed to do to survive.
I hear ya. We are critical in the moment but I think Jimmy was trying to get out of what a lot of people think was a super unhealthy place
All Im disappointed is that clay should've not gone to the alter. He's smart he knew the wight of things, I think its a money thing or a clout thing.

Clay did AD a favor by saying no bc they both aren’t ready for marriage and need therapy. AD needs to work on herself as well and realize she needs to stop pouring so much into these relationships and pour into herself. She is an empty black hole that can never be filled bc she thinks she’s unworthy and only thinks a man’s love will give her validation. Clay also needs to work on his faithfulness and parent issues. All the parents this season were great.
And I was also relieved to see Jimmy finally pull himself together and break it off with Chelsea. If they got married I would have been beside myself. What a match made in toxic hell.

I’m referring to Cersei using wildfire to blow up the Sept, a scene that opens the episode and goes on for the next 25 minutes. Then the episode gives zero fucks and just… continues.
okay niche reality tv rec but i love below deck lol. it has such a good mix of classic reality tv interpersonal/relationship drama and also hyper-specific workplace drama (super yachts!) seasons 3 and 4 are prime imo. its like every service job but all the best and worst parts are cranked up to a 10

There was a point in the pods where Clay stated that he looks up and to his dad and that he’s his role model. Next thing you know, he’s talking about his Dad being a cheater and that he was scared he, himself, would cheat. He got his red flags in nice and early.
It really helps to have you two to go through this together with because I also get emotionally invested for very similar reasons and most similar yt channels don't have that aspect and that leaves me feeling weird. But you're also weird and that makes it better! :) What's also great is how you contrast unhealthy or unrealistic behavior on the show with your own example from your long experience in a proven relationship.
And the outfit obsessions (Laura, Clay) are very cute.

Clay was just there to be on TV. A few episodes ago when he said he was watching Love is Blind last night and realized they actually got married at the end of the show and he didn’t feel he was as ready as those men who previously became husbands, said volumes. I think he was under the delusion that like most reality shows these things are just played up for TV. I feel for AD, but I know too many girls like her and I bet she still dated Clay after this

Clay and AD both have father wounds. They both told us about it from the start. She said she goes for guys with red flags, he said he's afraid he's not ready for marriage because he might cheat like his dad.
Her wound hurts her primarily, because it's preventing her to pick someone already good for her, bc her attention and chemistry goes to someone who's a project for her to build up using the potential she sees in him - what he could be, not who he is now. Her mom, as great as she is in other ways, does that too. They're both quick to project their aspirations onto him.
His wound, on the other hand, hurts other people and benefits him more in the short run. He needs to work on it before another relationship. Using people as therapy is selfish and cruel. Hopefully he realizes that watching this back.
If I had to bet I would say that AD has not made a clean cut after the altar, at least not at first, or until some therapy. They remind me so much of one of my relationships and I went back more times than I'd like to admit. Father wound is insidious and takes a lot of work to heal
We see a lot of trauma bonding on these shows and when you're on the inside of one it looks and feels like the greatest love of your life.
Yeah, its super easy for us to sit back and wonder why AD is so trusting in Clay but being in their shoes is a whole different situation. Thank you for sharing your thoughts

I was giving Jimmy the benefit of the doubt. She is an emotional ticking time bomb.💥 I believe he was hoping she was going to say no, lets not get married. That would have been his out number one. When she said yes, then I think he may have been trying to use the sandwhich method. The goal would be to say positive attributes about the person, then state your constructive criticism and then layer on solutions on how to proceed. Jimmys overall lack of effective communication skills made it harder for him to navigate that land mine field successfully. And like the Titanic...
Now, Clay told AD. AD didnt want to see it. You know what is hard for me to take is how AD was willing to go up to everyone else in their relationships and ask all those hard questions--Ken, Sarah Ann, but then she never spoke on the hard questions in a meaningful way in her own relationship....that is one thing that I feel like I heard Johnny and Amy did better. If AD was real with herself, she would have done a better job guarding her heart.

I know Chelsea has issues and is getting plenty of backlash online about it, but last week Jimmy said he was 100% confident that Chelsea was his person and then asked her how she felt and a minute later said that he didn't want to go to the alter which seems pretty messed up to me, but eveyone is just praising Jimmy. Three things can all be true at once. Jimmy could have made the right decision ending the engagement, Chelsea can be an emotional rollercoaster, and Jimmy can be a jerk.
I agree. They may have talked about his friend in confidence but he used that confidence and comfortably lied about the nature of their relationship to the cameras banking on Chelsea choosing to safeguard his secrets at the expense of her looking absolutely crazy on camera. It’s not a balanced deal so i don’t blame her for calling him out publicly.

@@deadams8905 I thought him bringing her on was strange especially since the show is supposed to be celebrating Jimmy and Chelsea’s relationship. I feel bad for the girl, but she wasn’t really hiding that she knew he was a crier and that he never turns down sex and she decided at some point that the benefit of exposure outweighed the risk clearly. She could’ve rejected the offer of having an appearance on Netflix and I doubt Jimmy would’ve been upset about it. A lot of people thought that was sus even before Chelsea outed them.
I think the show Naked Attraction would be hilarious to review but I don't think that's even possible.
We did do a few episodes and just censored the hell out of it. The people watching it were probably just hoping for nudity though, because barely anyone watched any duration of it. And we cant monetize them because America is afraid of nudity. We have 3 of them on our channel if you want to watch

We enjoyed it more than we portrayed I think, we just didnt have much to say. I wish we could have relaxed more for theirs, it was a nice wedding
@membriash I teared up watching Amy and Johnny. I was surprised by how many people skipped their wedding. It says something about our society when having little conflict and having the ability to deal with conflict when it pops up is boring. It warms my heart to know that you actually liked their wedding .

We are probably going to do a wrap up episode at the end of the season. We kept getting copyrighted. Our usual “watch with us” style wasnt working too well for Lifetime
I bet the producers are glad they found one couple that wanted to marry each other and they were very sweet but i fast forwarded through every scene of their relationship 😬😬😬😂
Haha, yeah. Im really happy for them, but I needed to see what was going on elsewhere. Its a shame, having only one healthy relationship made that one so much harder to watch for us

Part of me hates saying this, but I do think Jimmy and Clay made the right choice. They just did it in a horrible way. Jimmy was hoping that Chelsea would say no when he knew he wanted to, which is a little shady, but I get hoping that she'd be on the same page. It's harder with Clay since by the end he was edited in a way that would make us this he'd say yes (who knows what they doubt they might've taken out). However, he had massive red flags even in the pods that continued throughout the show, and AD said back in the pod episodes that when she sees red flags she just paints her nails to match. AD is clearly an amazing human being and someone I'd want to be friends with in real life, but how she repeats unhealthy patterns isn't good for her either, like how she told Matthew in the pods she still likes him after everything he did to her. She's not ready to be married until she deals with that. I really hope the best for all 4 of them to heal and find their people at the right time since everyone deserves that at the end of the day.

Everyones been tearing jimmy apart. I think he didnt want to embarass her at the alter but wanting to stay together. He just didnt want to marry yet because of the issues. I think when she snapped he just gave up. I think he knew she responds passionately and illogically and so he wanted to see where she stood before he said no alter because he wanted to go into knowing she loved him so he could stay neutral thoughout her outburst knowing she didnt mean whatever came next. However when she accused him AGAIN of not caring about her after they had already fought about that and he clearly stated that is a boundary for him he no longer could stay neutral. He didnt care anymore and just said f it or he then snapped/couldnt control his reaction the way he intended to.
I dont want to diagnose anyone and i cant for that matter lol. But i have borderline personality disorder and i see so much of myself in her. Ive done entensive therapy inpatient and out. I manage my disorder pretty well and most people do not know i have it. My husband I've been with since i was 17 though. So long before i was even diagnosed. He went through a ROLLERCOASTER with me. I remember him loving me so much but not knowing how to respond to me but trying to keep his composure while i had outbursts and i see that in Jimmy. People hate on him alot but i think he is doing his best which for only knowing the person for a few weeks even if she only has tendencies of bpd its TOUGH. Especially when untreated and the partner being unprepared and uneducated on the disorder. I thank the universe everyday for my husband being able to ride it out with me. I havent had a big episode in over 12 years. There was a time i jumped out of his car while he was driving down the road. I now dont even know who that girl was. I think Jimmy loves her, i also think she loved him and he always says she loves him. If my idea is correct that is something borderline people do is love incredibly hard when they attatch to someone which is where alot of the outbursts come from fear. Its not fair to Jimmy to have to decide if thats a journey he wants to commit to after only 3 months. My husband and I got married after being together for 8 years. Chelsea deserves love no matter what is going on with her BUT she needs to do a lot of inner work before she commits to anyone and has anyone commit to her. I feel for her so much. To be in a position like that (even if its not bpd just the emotional resoonse she has) is the worst feeling ever. To know you love that person so much and you physically just cant stop the nonsense from coming out of you even though a part of you is sane enough to try to stop it but without the proper therapy/classes you just cant. I can see the pain in her eyes when shes spiraling and its devastating. Her brain convinces her he doesnt care and he takes that personally. Its honestly so sad to watch. Everyone says theyre a terrible match. I think they could have been a perfect match if she had the therapy first and could explain clearly her issues where he could understand where they come from/how to reassure her before she spirals. I think it could have been a forever couple under different circumstances.

I actually am disappointed in how this season went, not enough was shown with johnny and amy, the way their families came together we didnt see, how amy had johnny's sister was part of her bridal party and amy's father is a true genuine soul. I aspire to let my daughter go with the same poise as he did. I get viewers want to see toxic over success but the way they only had 18 mins to show the success vs over an hour of toxic/ trauma reflects not only your channels view points but every reax channels view points on johnny and amy, nobody was interested. Netflix editing really blew it..
