Who would need to holster a handgun with a suppressor you ask? Why certainly this is a product for covert agency assassins that need to operate undetected and eliminate high value targets and require their suppressors attached at all times. Under these requirements it’s imperative to get in and out undetected, without making loud noises or shining bright ligh-- Oh.
Exactly. People don't realize that this is not a Combat holster. Its not a Quickdraw holster and its definitely not an EDC holster. Covert Agency Assassins don't see combat because they are never seen, They don't need to shoot quickly its all about patience and they definitely don't have to work everyday.
Oh I get it. It's a blade reference and that's what makes it funny. Becuase you're using it as reference along with this other comment to be funny. I get it it now.
I have the system, and mostly agree with your assessments about it. For me there's a couple differences. 1: You can have the throw type of the X300 (but brighter) with the HX30 vs HX35. The HX35 was designed for indoor use seems like. 2: Light auto-on worked 100% for me, no idea why the difference. 3: Draw inconsistency, I think it mainly relates to the geometry of the release button, you have to press rearward and not directly down or slightly forward like it should be, causing it to hang with pressure. I disassembled mine and polished the mechanism and coated in a dry lube coating and now it doesn't hang with pressure, but it's a real design flaw. Practicing with the rearward thumb pressure helped 100%. Also it costs twice what it should, had I had to pay full price I wouldn't have honestly, but for half the price it works for me. One of the few holsters I can draw while in a car without doing the twist-and-lean to get it out, but still awkward.

NPC#18633679 241 you shouldn’t have to train around your holster to not ND. Serpas are garbage and inherently dangerous. They are only popular because they are cheap and carried by big box stores like walmart.
Being former Army, and using a Serpa for 2.5 years for Iraqi combat, I have never felt coming close to a ND on the draw. It's called not being an idiot and pulling the trigger when it's still at your thigh. For quick reaction, we trained to get our finger on the trigger at waist level, pistol horizontal, and fire as we brought it up. CSM Schroeder was big on that material. It's amazing what happens when you train properly, and aren't an idiot.
I'm not saying the Serpa is perfect, but it's design is meant to utilise the proper draw by having the index finger flat and parallel to the frame during the draw, even shoving your finger downward into the retention release- it's still hard to get an ND. My guess is not many people use them after seeing that scary video of mc'tactical blowing a hole on his leg, (which his inherrantly bad draw would have been negligent discharge no matter what holster he used) and making assumptions with never having used one before. Call me a dumbass for beating this to death but I have real tangible experience with Serpa and I have no holes. Blaming an object in leu of human error is why things like bumpstocks are banned.
NPC#0 1 agreed. I own tons of holsters, including a couple of Serpas from a while back and I'm pretty certain the only people who keep claiming Serpas are dangerous have never even looked at one in person. Just standard internet parroting. The retention/release mechanism is well above the trigger (at least the part you press on, though if someone has only seen pictures and read other's opinions I could see how they form their false assumptions) and even has a channel that keeps your finger moving straight backward and flat along the receiver as you draw. Are they a perfect holster? Absolutely not. In fact, I would argue the Serpa's biggest flaw is that if a pebble or too much dirt got into the retention/release mechanism it could easily lock your pistol into the holster. Again, not claiming they're perfect. ND prone though? Only if you're a neckbeard troglodyte who is bound to shoot yourself in the leg eventually anyway.
Thumbdaddy I was an early adopter of this system and have done about 7-8 defensive carbine oriented 2 gun matches and have some feedback. I noticed the same issues you did with the draw, what helped me is to put the extendo button included and I have to practice hitting the button first on my draw. I run a pretty weird setup, wickstick hk vp40 and there's no holster for that. It's retained my pretty heavy gun well even through sprinting/crawling etc. Even on the non level 3 setup. It did not actuate the light once, ironically when I was trying to show off my slick setup, it could have been operator error as there's a switch on the holster as well as on the light, I run the light "off" and the holster "on" as I feel like this gives me a bit of extra retention. I probably wouldn't larperate with my basement pillow using this holster but for competition it has done ok. Another bonus is that it's compatible with the QLS system so you can swap out holsters quickly if you need to. So yeah if you're "mr glock and AR" this holster will be a downgrade but for some of us trying to Forgotten Weapons it with our hipster loadouts it's a godsend.

Blackhawk, of all companies, seems to do this sort of holster better. They make a "universal" holster called the Omnivore that can mount on to Surefire X300s, Streamlight TLR-1s, or just some weird rail attachment depending on the version you get. Mine draws like a Safariland.

i switched to Streamlights a couple years back. Surefire makes great products generally speaking; but in 2018, they can no longer justify the mark up in price. Hell, I tried an Olight Pl-mini and love that thing now... I feel the same way about Aimpoint, Knights Armament, Trijicon and Nightforce... all awesome companies, that make awesome products that just arent worth the extra amount charged for them, for at least 90% of the market (civilians and LEO). If your one of those few actual operators (like Mr Thumb), then I think these products might be more viable; but to shoot paper, run competitions or even for SWAT teams, you can't convince me that surefire is superior to streamlight, or holosun is inferior to Aimpoint in non-military combat applications (sorry; but no, kicking doors serving warrants is not a combat application, with all due respect).
BOSS 350z I’d say kicking doors on a warrant is a potential combat situation. Your point is noted nonetheless. Furthermore, I could not agree more about Surefire v Streamlight... I have rma’ed dozens of Surefire Led lampheads... not one Streamlight.
@@AM-nn9sv i meant simply with regard to the required ruggedness of the device. Door kicking can definitely turn into a combat situation; but even then, it wouldn't test the device in a way comparable to use in the field over a course of years. I didn't mean any disrespect to LE. Shit can definitely hit the fan for them too. it just typically ends in seconds vs sustained combat. i just think its funny how people spend so much on lights and optics for non-combat applications. Dont get me wrong, if you can afford it, or if you just think it's cool, bet. I get it and why not get the best; but when I see people that cant afford ammo, or to even go to the range or train arguing that they just had to get a $300 surefire over a $100 streamlight because it's "battle proven" it just drives me nuts... I say buy the streamlight, take the $200 left over, buy some ammo and go actually train... otherwise they bettet that 1200 lumens blinds what ever goes bump in the night... 😄😄😄

Thanks for the input. That safari is a bit bulky. But, you saved me from spending damn near $400 on a holster system for my loaded operator 1911. I’ll check other options. That master fire is not functional for the day to day carry! Big thanks!
Actually, Sir Thumb's comment on it having a wide flood versus a spot makes this WML more appealing for me. I prefer a flood over a spot for room clearing. Less tunnel, more field of view in larger rooms, less backsplash off of reflective surfaces. It's a preference thing but there is a huge difference in clearing a building with one other person versus having a full team.
I could see the same problem if you had to draw while sitting in the car, it does happen, and the but of the weapon is pushed forward by the seat. Also the motion used to release to weapon lends itself to a bowling draw, I know it's tilted backwards a bit to counter that angle but it still looks like you struggle a bit to not bowl the draw because of the holsters drawing technique. Nice video bro keep it up!
Another problem I see with the draw method is, even if there isn't external pressure on the firearm, we're talking about high stress situations where the user is going to lose some amount of fine motor control and physical inputs are going to be aggressive. That, in and of itself, could cause this holster to lock up and not allow the user to draw the firearm in a surprise shooting. I can see why they designed it the way they did, problem is, that design is so specific that it can't allow for realistic variables.
Good information thanks. Seems like to it might be a decent option for securely carrying suppressed. There don’t seem to be many great options for that.
I think I made a boo boo in a good way. I had to order one of these from Midway and I think they accidentally sent me a new model of the masterfire holster. It has a leg strap and the online manual indicates that an over the top pistol cover, which SureFire told me they are still developing, can be attached. I think they fixed the jamming issues. I tried to get it to not release my 1911, but as long as I hit that button with authority, it popped out every time.
My favorite whore film was Backdoor Sluts 9. I just feel like it was very tastefully done, and the lighting was really amazing. It just accentuated the performers. i feel like the plot was adequate, and there was plenty of suspense overall. Way better than Backdoor Sluts 7 which had a different director and slightly different aesthetic. I really thought 7 would have ruined the series but fortunately 9 was able to salvage the franchise.
Damn daddy this is the first hour long video of yours that I’m able to finish. Maybe it’s because I have a bias against surefire and I love to see you lay into them.
Dude! The Viridian weapon light/laser with its “auto on” function is the total shite!! Simple magnet switch. Works every time! Their newest one has a 500 lumen light, green laser, plus a 1080p hi def built in camera and microphone, all using the auto on function. I just bought one and it’s pretty awesome! It will fit a holster made for a StreamLight TLR-1. Yup Yup!
Funny you mention your light being dead, I recently purchased a X300U in Tan and from the moment I opened the box it wouldn't work. I tried several different batteries and even a different switch from another X300U that I know works. The response from Surefire was surprising too. I called and they told me to return it to the vendor I bought it from because it would take them (Surefire) at least 3 weeks to warranty it out.
I purchased the XH35 a year or two ago, because it was the only surefire light my LGS had in stock. I thought it was pretty neat, but I was devastated to find out that nobody makes holsters for a gen 5 Glock, with that flashlight. I was hoping you might have a safari land holster in your collection that coincidentally happens to work with it, because I don't want to buy one that *might* fit. I've been having a local gun holster maker create kydex holsters for me, but they don't have any of the thumb buttons, or active retention systems in place, it just relies on the tension with the flashlight. I'll give it to the holsters the dude made, they both survived a motorcycle crash, but had to be reshaped afterwards. Same thing with both of my Glocks (my 43, and 19 got a little banged up, primarily cosmetic) Do you have any holster solutions for said xh35 mounted 19s, with a red dot mounted on it?
I will say I think the idea of the holster and light and the features are awesome. Just didn't come through as well on final product as would have been nice.
Don’t be mistaken by his inherent politeness. This is a Mel Gibson level meltdown for GarandThumb.

BOSS 350z I’d say kicking doors on a warrant is a potential combat situation. Your point is noted nonetheless. Furthermore, I could not agree more about Surefire v Streamlight... I have rma’ed dozens of Surefire Led lampheads... not one Streamlight.
Jethro Cain lamp heads? What is this 2001?
BOSS 350z 100% agreed.
Generally I agree but after getting a Nightforce due to an accidental catalogue issue. You get what you pay for with Nightforce.
Can that "disappointing product" include Girlfriends that don't swallow?
No. Chicks are an automatic disappointment.
Did you make the girlfriend? 🤔
The first comment in a while I've literally laughed at loud at
I see where you've gone wrong. Making a girl who won't swallow into your girlfriend.
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the quality review pappy.
This is why it is so important to get your gear on and use it in a variety of scenarios, you never know what ungodly quirks the gear might have that may surprise you at an inopportune moment,

12:33 The look Tac-Bat gives after calling for an extraction and Alfred arrives in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Next up he'll twirl like Lynda Carter and show his WonderWarrior outfit. Though in reality he's the super villain Solomon Garandy.
The Plaid Slenderman kept it real this time...time to start reviewing shit we ask for. My first choice, MDR 308 also is a mirror over the bed a dangerous idea?
hdgardens go watch Inrangetv they did the mdr. Very disappointing
I would point you towards a Tavor 7. Isn't as accurate as my mr762 but I find myself shooting it more as it carries it's weight very well.
He doesnt review shit we ask for. He runs his own show biased to big name sponsors.
Mamma Mia is the single scariest movie of all time.
Rudy0311 Smith31b I disagree, Delta Farce is
Except for Sound of Music... DAMN - that is the source of nightmares.
It's important that you can pull out easily. Agreed, consistency is important.
If it ain't hi point its garbage
Who are you XD
Thanks for the input. That safari is a bit bulky. But, you saved me from spending damn near $400 on a holster system for my loaded operator 1911. I’ll check other options. That master fire is not functional for the day to day carry! Big thanks!

Surefire thanks you for doing their R&D for them!

Dagny lmao
No, I'm just curious.
I didnt know I didnt need it. Cheers dude, I'll be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell me one or sneak it into my guccicam stocking.
9:06 - could be a problem for cops, law enforcement, LARPERS!!! Hilarious!!!
*SureFire could not be reached for comment*
I think they replied back "OH SHIT!!! WE BEEN MADE"
I bought a E2D from SureFire Dec 2010.
EDC; Every day use. Still Works!
Hell yeah. Morning with the Thumb! Let me get my bowl of Cap’n Crunch.
So glad you’re not a fanboy and produce honest reviews.
Halloween - 1978 version. Halloween II (1981) is a great sequel too.
Ordering my holster now!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Your black bedsheet backdrop has a wrinkle in it and its driving me insane!!
Turning down contest helped.....a little.......ah FUCK, it's still grinding on that last nerve
@@HiVoltish *contrast
I scrolled up to verify this but my screen is covered in white so I couldnt tell. YMMV
He likes his black backdrop, I can't convince him to change it.
I’ll wait for Gen 2. Thanks Mike.
It's cute when you laugh at your own jokes
I could see the same problem if you had to draw while sitting in the car, it does happen, and the but of the weapon is pushed forward by the seat. Also the motion used to release to weapon lends itself to a bowling draw, I know it's tilted backwards a bit to counter that angle but it still looks like you struggle a bit to not bowl the draw because of the holsters drawing technique. Nice video bro keep it up!
5:48 - I've got a little nub that'll actuate the lever on your back...
B 65 I’m dying 😂
@@JosephBallin Lol, good times man.
I actually saw the post last night on the holster and it took about 3 minutes for me to realize that was not my taste and just wasn’t it.
I love when companies put out *subpar* products!
Want to see that RDS Safariland Holster you showed in the background for a second
Raves , it’s been 9 years since I’ve been to a rave .. man those light shows
8 surefire employees and counting have disliked this video.
Good information thanks. Seems like to it might be a decent option for securely carrying suppressed. There don’t seem to be many great options for that.
Just get a T.REX ARMS Ragnarok SD for suppressor use
I think I made a boo boo in a good way. I had to order one of these from Midway and I think they accidentally sent me a new model of the masterfire holster. It has a leg strap and the online manual indicates that an over the top pistol cover, which SureFire told me they are still developing, can be attached. I think they fixed the jamming issues. I tried to get it to not release my 1911, but as long as I hit that button with authority, it popped out every time.
GIVE ME HIPOINT VIDEO REEEEEEE
i come to listen to the content.....and the videos! you're my youtube hero!
Too true
thank man, i really appreciate the honest reviews. keep it up.
That’s a great question at the end!
... oh wait, you said ‘hor-ror” films.
Never mind
I've loved your videos for awhile now but damn, you have the best comment section on RUclips
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, truly horrifying
Appreciate the no BS assessment G. That's a no go on the Surefire holster.
You guys probably have the heel of your sock on your ankle
So...
having a surprised handgun when hunting or bedside suppressed seems like a good niche use-case and what I may try this out for.
Level 400 retention system
Didn't even watch it. I'm here for you you magnificent sick bastards
We know.....
We know.
Video is just background noise
Daddy Garand is noticeably frustrated. Mommy, I’m scared.
Same thing with both of my Glocks (my 43, and 19 got a little banged up, primarily cosmetic)
Do you have any holster solutions for said xh35 mounted 19s, with a red dot mounted on it?
I will say I think the idea of the holster and light and the features are awesome. Just didn't come through as well on final product as would have been nice.
