Experienced dog groomer here (10 years - yikes!) just to say you're doing an amazing job with Bowser! Chows are notoriously difficult in so many ways and seeing how much work you've put into his care is absolutely awesome to watch. His grooming is also spot-on - Not many people think to brush all underneath and especially between the legs so that was great to see. Parting the hair to brush is called line brushing and it's perfect for getting right down to the skin. Keep it up, you're doing great!
I’ve noticed this too! Deli and James take such good care of him, it makes me so happy! I grew up with a neighbor with really mean Chows so it’s very refreshing to see a Chow who is happy and bright and well maintained!!
Exactly! I'm also a pro groomer and I was going to compliment on her appropriate pressure she's using with the slicker! So many people push too hard which causes discomfort.
An idea for your lounge room: You could get cushion covers instead of new cushions. That way you can have whatever fun, bright colors you want, swap them out whenever, and most of the time the covers are washable! It's a mom tip, because my littles are messy boys, and I wouldn't have it any other way. As a stay at home mom with two little boys, I don't do it all! My house is a little messy, there are dishes to wash yet, laundry to wash/fold/ect, and my garden is a little neglected. But my boys are taken care of, I always make sure they're good first, and then everything else follows. Bowser looks so happy being groomed! He's such a good boy. Oh I miss having a dog. You're such an inspiration, your life is so full and seems like great fun!
I specifically got a couch that had fitted covers made for it for this reason. Can change the color, can just rip the cover off and toss it in the wash if something is spilled or pet hair becomes too clingy for my brushes to handle.
quick health warning about growing rhubarb: the leaves are toxic so keep bowser away from it and make sure you wash your hands really well after handling the leaves. just in case you’re unaware
Experienced Groomer here(11 years): you are an awesome pet owner and you take such good care of Bowser. Like you are in the 5% of dog owners who *actually* take correct care and actually researched your breed. Sadly us Groomers see a lot of neglect so seeing you own a high maintenance breed and do what must be done to keep him in good condition is so amazing to see. Also brush technique(we call the way you're doing it line brushing) is on point! THANK YOU for being a responsible pet owner!!!
Love how the houes is coming together! Also love that you show how much time it takes. You are so real with your viewers and that's why I've been following for so long! Same with your "dirty" stove. You just show that you're a normal real person. ❤️
It has been SO enjoyable watching you and James make a home together 🥹 Don’t mind me getting slightly emotional 😆 EDIT: it’s crazy to think that like less than a year ago you couldn’t get the proper permissions to leave Sydney, now you are able to enjoy going back and forth freely 😌 Crazy to think back!
mommy/student/content creator here :D I study for my degree in the mornings while my son is in daycare from 8am to 2pm, then I care for him cook and clean etc and when he is in bed and sleeps I record videos or stream :D on the weekends I don't study but the rest is the same :) that's how I manage it all. It's often a lot and it doesn't always work out as planned but I think its worth it :) I absolutely love these vlogs deli! thank you for sharing them with us ♡
I'm a working mom of two, a 6 year old and an 8 month old. Not everything gets done every day! Some days the kitchen just has to stay a mess, despite how much I hate cooking in a messy kitchen. Some days, the fur from the corgi (mega shedders!) and cat gets to live another day on the floor because I just didn't have time to vacuum that day because I was too busy taking the kids to the park. I'd love a spotless house but I have come to terms with the fact that sometimes things just have to be put off.
One of the biggest (and most fun) parts of parenting is learning the art of creative multi-tasking. Walking you, the dog, and the kids to the park and back, teaching the kids to help groom the dog, even pretty small kids can help with meal prep and clean-up which teaches them to enjoy cooking later in life and can make them less prone to picky eating when it's food they've helped cook...
My father in law used to farm roses in Bulgaria. He passed just this last March. But the oil is pressed out of the flowers and distilled. I believe the roses are boiled to create rose water. Funny to see the Bulgarian rose products take over the world in the last recent years. It's really good for you in all forms.
You do it by including them in your every day life. Babies are easy because they are portable and just stay where you put them. There is maybe a year in-between baby and older toddler where it's risk management but honestly most kids two and up just want to be with you and helping. So if you are gardening they "garden". If you groom the dog they can help too. If you're cooking they can help wash ingredients or out plates out. It takes more time sometimes but it's so worth it.
I love watching these vlogs it’s so much fun seeing what you and James do in your everyday lives. I am so jealous of your home! I love simple neutral colours, and I would love to one day have my own home like yours and to grow my own organic garden. You just have an amazing life that is very inspiring to me, I can’t wait for the next vlog! x
If you want a good crumble recipe, I recommend strawberry-rhubarb oat crumble. The strawberries add a nice natural sweetness that offsets the tartness of the rhubarb. It's a common spring-time treat in my area!
You and James remind me so much of my husband and I, its really refreshing and endearing honestly 🥰 and doing everything while being a parent? honestly, you don't. Compromise when necessary, accept help as much as you can, and the rest - you just somehow do, haha. Loving the vlogs and content lately 💖
You are the freaking cutest deli! Lol your reaction to the armchair was perfect. You’ve been the only RUclipsr I’ve been watching lately and I really love your vlogs/videos. You’re so down to earth and hearing details about your life and anxiety have really helped me lately with mine. Love you💜
Assuming people usually don't like Mondays because that's the day you'd typically go back to school/work. I like your outlook on it though. Very optimistic and I adore it.
I think people who work in offices hate Mondays. You work at home, so it’s definitely more enjoyable. I’m a graduate student, so Mondays are good or bad depending on what’s going on with classes and studies. Just depends.
Deli, instead of getting new cushions, Cushion Covers might be a good alternative, also to save money :) I always thought rhubarb was a fruit xD I couldn't have the walls all white in my house, looks so sterile and a little cold in that corner. But that's just my opinion. Curious to see what it'll look like when you're all done :) Answer to your question: where I live it's my job to look after the children of people who have to work all day. Tha's how they do it: they send their children to daycare/kindergarten :)
Those of us with kids just let some things slide, be it some housework or your own self care or whatever one deems less important. I let some housework slide till the weekend. My kids are finally old enough to be helpful when they help me so less has to be let go.
How do we do it? Scheduling, or sometimes known as a time management. Prioritize the most important items, and then go down the list. Do the things you need to do today, then put off anything else that doesn't need to be done right away. It is a balance between procrastination and panic. No, seriously, make time by scheduling everything.
A little sweetening helps bring out the flavor of rhubarb. It’s quite a tart flavor, you can use honey or maple syrup to sweeten it but it goes AMAZING with strawberries if you’ve never tried that. Would make the best yogurt topping. I also like to make healthy protein muffins with rhubarb for easy breakfasts.
Deli, you are so patient grooming Bowser. I used to dogsit my daughter’s terrier when she went out of town. Generally, I think they have long hair but she would get him groomed in a way where his hair wasn’t long. Much easier for me to check him for ticks when he as with me. I prefer shorter haired dogs and he really looked cute with the cut he got on him. And so much easier to see his cute little face when his hair was trimmed. Does Bowser wear a flea and tick collar?
Having kids while working full time, and having a pet can be daunting. It is doable, just don't have a lot of time to do other activities unless they are kid friendly. Going to bed not long after kids is a must for the first few years. Then when they are more independent, you get more time to yourself.
I have one kid and no pets and I work from home and the answer is I am just continuously overwhelmed 😅😅 mainly I just look after my kid, try to stop the house falling to pieces and do exercise (I have a disability where if I don't exercise I get terrible pain so can't skip that). So if I ever get any writing done it's just a huge bonus! It's a little better now that she goes to pre-school though at least.
Yeah your chow grooming is perfect. I also use a wide toothed metal comb to part the hair and groom. Slicker brushes are the best though. Bowser is such a good boi, pass it on x
I use to hate Mondays but since I've started workout out, eating better, sleeping better and having a routine. I now also LOVE Mondays! I feel the same where it's a new start. Yay for Mondays!!💓🔥💓
I love porridge when it's make entirely in water. I just add water/milk on the pan and then the oats, that's how you don't have to add butter. But, I must say that the butter gives a very good flavour to the porridge. When I make the porridge, I often add beanut butter, just a little bit salt, nuts, and rasberry jam. I love it. 😍 I just make my porridge in the macrowave bc i'm lazy.
Love the living room ! With a touch of colour it’s gonna be even prettier. I think you’re such a cutie, you sound so sweet and quiet and peaceful and kind, it’s refreshing and calming, thank you !😍
Don't know if you said what will happen with the old tv unit but maybe take a leg off to find longer legs in the same color so you could use it as a side unit in a hallway or so if you have space and like it that much 🥰
When my boys were babies and I was taking care of the house and working, I just didn't sleep. My day off was my husband's day off, so he got them for the day while I slept.
i love the kids question.. i guess the true answer is.. you don't!! we have to, and one have troubles at the m9ment at nabours are complaining, and my hubby and I have to go to our calender together at least once a week, and some days like yesterday, your day is full with apotments before or/and after job.. its tuff but you love them and will do anything for them, you just forget yourself in the process, btw love this video!!❤
I look after my son and neglect everything else, including myself 😂 Seriously, people who can do it all are just super-human for sure! House looks beautiful Deli, your both doing amazing! ❤️
Interesting to think of rhubarb not sweet in England it’s always sweetie rhubarb crumble and custard. Put the rhubarb on a tray with a sill pad and then add some honey and roast it. Then can use as a topping on ice cream or yogurt
That lounge chair looks VERY similar to one of the lounge chairs in the Sims 4! Yesss what colors are you going to do? Mmmm I got off of walking, I think I'll take a walk today! Oooo I've never mixed all that stuff for porridge. Maybe I'll try it sometime!
My grandma cans a lot of different foods for storing, but she also makes and sells homemade jellies and jams. She makes a Strawberry-Rhubarb jam that is SO GOOOOD!!! It's my favorite and whenever she makes batches I always steal a couple jars. Delicious!!!
I love seeing the gradual progress in the house! Also, we did the same thing with the armchair tucked in the corner, our living room is also our office (with 2 desks) so there isn't much space but we made it work like you did!
Love watching everyday things! It's always exciting getting new furniture. I brought my house 7 months ago and it's a work in progress, like yours. Thanks for sharing. Loving the cooking, the filming, Bowser's curiosity. Chow Chows are high maintenance dogs, so are Boxer's, but they are not hairy. He is so cute in this video. Dog's just make a house a home. As for kids, I have 3, and you are so organised that you'll do fine if you ever want go down that road. Loved the dirty stove top as it's one thing I tend to neglect myself. Loving your short legacy play by the way. As someone who makes short films, I know how time consuming editing is, let alone the filming. Stay strong and passionate with your work and thank you so much for sharing it with us.
As a relatively new mum I can tell you I too don’t know how anyone has any time for anything. All I do is care for her and then barely keep on top of the most important tasks. I’m hoping it’s easier when they’re bigger???
Deli, I use sweetener as opposed to sugar and the one I use (well, two) I use Splenda (or sucralose) for my coffee and tea and Swerve (a natural sweetener) for baking.
I haven't made porridge in a long time but that looks so good. I think your living room would look amazing with an accent wall behind the TV to add the color. I'm currently also trying to add color into my somewhat too white living room and thats what I decided to do
My cats, toddler and 7 month old keep me so busy, I do my decorating and cleaning at night. I love watching your videos and living vicariously through you because I so wish I had time to cook and go for a walk and have hot coffee; those days are behind me for now unfortunately!
I usually dont like porrige, but seeing your recipe inspires me to try it again. Also my dad always said, that food mixes in the stomach anyway, so it doesnt matter wether you mix it on the plate or not, it just matters how it tastes :)
Love how excited you are with the renovating/decorating. House is looking great! My grandmother worked at a bakery when I was little and she used to bring home strawberry-rhubarb pie and it was one of my fave pies as a child. Haven't had one in years but I might have to after watching this lol
Hi deli! 👋 love how your living room is coming together. A couple cheaper alternatives to all new cushions would be thrifting a few colorful ones or making your own covers. My favorite thing to do is go thrifting and find a beautiful sheet, curtain etc that could use some new life and turning it into something else. Sewing isn’t even necessary because there is an iron on fusible tape( holds up in the wash)that makes covers for practically anything super easy to whip up in a few minutes!
Not this showing up in my feed and me being excited for a new Deli Diary video and being confused why the furniture was new and then realizing this is is from 2 years ago 😭 i hope y'all are doing well with the new puppy and we get to see a new video sometime soon 🩷🩷🩷
I just added about five things to my curbside pick up tomorrow from watching you cook your porridge. I love grapes and walnuts with mine. And it definitely keeps you regular!
I just love these vlogs! And listening to you talking just reminds me of aus, i miss it so much 😪 ps really loving your home so far, it's looking wonderful
Hey bestie!! Just wanted to say that you seem really happy and healthy these days and it's so nice to see you glow! You look very fit and in control of your things! Luv you xxx
Trying to find some skin to give an injection to Bowser dogs is SO hard 😂 I love when they're as calm & well looked after like Bowser cos it can take some time to find a spot! 💕
Love the vlogs - please keep them coming!! Bowser is adorable and the house is looking lovely! Excited to see what choices you make to add color to the space. Might have missed it from a previous video, but wondering what you figured out to hide the dishwasher in the dining room
@@Delidiary ah, that makes sense! Think the dishwasher is the hardest challenge for that house (everything is looking awesome btw and blown away by your gardening)
It's probably the Aries in you! I personally love Tuesdays... I still feel a little rusty on Mondays, but by Tuesday I'm back in the flow of things 🥰 Love what you've done with the house so far... Thanks for showing us and letting us hang out for a little bit ✨
How do we do everything with kids? You don't!! Haha. You try your best and make decisions based on the higher priority! Sometimes the dishes don't get done. Sometimes we can't go out to social engagements but I will tell you something: being parents was the best decision for my husband and I. We love watching our babies grow and learn everyday. 💜
I loved watching you cook, Deli. Your vlogs are always so calming, and I needed that today. I have high anxiety so thank you for helping with that. Your new furniture is beautiful. Seeing the white tv unit, I would suggest maybe adding some pops of white to the couch via throw pillows along with the other colors you want to incorporate, and using a white tray or something else white on the coffee table. That would help to bring the white into the other side of the room and make it more cohesive. But I love the light gray furniture with the color of your floors, very beautiful. Again, thank you for helping me through a rough day.
Yaaaay! It's vlog time 😍 I haven't even pressed play yet, but I just got back from moving a loooot of boxes to my new home and I love that I can now relax watching this video 🥰
This video makes me happy for both of you, and I love to see your decoration and style. It is so interesting to watch! Hope you both get to enjoy yourself in your new house!
Love watching your vlogs Deli! That porridge looked amazing, might have to give it a go for tomorrow's breakfast! I only have 1 child but finding it very hard to juggle everything, doesnt really feel like you ever get time for yourself anymore but they still bring so much joy and happiness, and she just has to enjoy watching deli sims videos and vlogs while we do all the jobs around the house =D
Carrots are also a vegetable that's delicious in desserts! Don't feel bad if it doesn't look picture perfect. Most of what I make might not look that great but it sure will taste good. That rhubarb porridge sure sounds great!
I find that Stevia has an aftertaste, which I don’t like. There is another sweetener, Monkfruit that people sometimes use. I find that one to be too sweet. Swerve is made with erythritol and is great for baking. I recently made a cheesecake with an almond flour “graham cracker” crust. It was great and you couldn’t tell the difference between that one and one made with real sugar. But it might not be great for people who don’t do dairy. Not sure how it would work with vegan cream cheese (if there is such a thing).
Deli you asked how people have kids while working, taking care of the home, etc. Idk about other moms but I just cut out the “taking care of the home” part 🤪🤪 we deep clean once a week and spend time with each other instead of cleaning everyday!
I really love these vlogs Deli! I get ideas for home reno/decor, healthy living and you’re just a really fun and entertaining person to watch! It’s wonderful to see you thriving.

Brushing armpit area of dog as well! Our dog gets some tangly armpits if we don't remember to do it
My Dalmatian loves grooming but my Bordercollie which was a rescue is scared of a brush
I’ve noticed this too! Deli and James take such good care of him, it makes me so happy! I grew up with a neighbor with really mean Chows so it’s very refreshing to see a Chow who is happy and bright and well maintained!!

I agree!!
Yep! Saw the thumbnail and said “d’aww- I love them” to myself haha
so true love them

Thank you! Yeah it realistically takes time to save! But online it looks like you have infinite funds to do everything at once 🤣 it’s a process :)
Deli I have 4 kids and I have no clue how I do it but you, James and Gluon are my escape from all the craziness so thank you for that🥰
Some crazy to help with the crazy 🤣❤️ I don’t know how you do it either!
Same! 😅
Was going. To say the same I’m 5 kids, watching deli before I go to work is my way of life x
Rosewater is made from distilled rose petals. It's actually pretty simple to make yourself if you have fresh roses!

Truly being an adult is being excited about furniture 😂
Also, my grandma used to make a mean rhubarb cake. I love it!
It’s so cute how excited you were about the armchair and feeling like an adult 🥺I love moments like that in life

i would totally paint the wall behind the tv in a different color than white just for a little contrast!
I'd put some wallpaper on it, or rather the removable sticky paper. I get the high-end version of that to accent in my apartments.
Deli, instead of getting new cushions, Cushion Covers might be a good alternative, also to save money :) I always thought rhubarb was a fruit xD

Strawberry Rhubarb pie is soooo goood!
@@Delidiary Also, you can neutralize the sourness with a little bit of baking soda without adding too much sugar or other sweeteners

I grow pumpkins like that one in my garden at home! It's surprisingly very easy and 100% worth it
I like how Bowser wants to get into the act. Such a cute doggie.
Deli's smile when she's testing out the chair is so genuine and pure- it's contagious! I love seeing you so full of joy! xx ✨💛🌻
Just so you know I LOVE the LP you’re doing an appreciate how much time and work you’re putting into it! Love you, Deli 🤍🤍
Aw thank you!
I use to hate Mondays but since I've started workout out, eating better, sleeping better and having a routine. I now also LOVE Mondays! I feel the same where it's a new start. Yay for Mondays!!💓🔥💓
Deli, if you can handle a high maintenance breed like a chow, you can handle a kid!
🤣 he’s kinda like a fury kid I guess

I think you’re such a cutie, you sound so sweet and quiet and peaceful and kind, it’s refreshing and calming, thank you !😍
Seeing how happy you are about the armchair made me so happy 😂☺️☺️ I need one now
For some extra colour in your lounge you could get a rug! You can get pet friendly low pile rugs nowadays, easy to clean and low maintenance
Yes! I would like to get an easy/pet friendly one soon :)
Deli you had me in tears (happy tears) with the new arm chair. Your first armchair! I LOVE it!! Y'all are too cute!
💖
I look after my son and neglect everything else, including myself 😂
Seriously, people who can do it all are just super-human for sure!
House looks beautiful Deli, your both doing amazing! ❤️
Same, I’m watching her do all these things, and I sigh every time my kids want to eat.
@@mojosong I'd be keen just to pee on my own at this point 😅
Interesting to think of rhubarb not sweet in England it’s always sweetie rhubarb crumble and custard. Put the rhubarb on a tray with a sill pad and then add some honey and roast it. Then can use as a topping on ice cream or yogurt
Deli please continue doing these vlogs! I’m loving watching these :)
Yay! A new vlog! and right before bedtime for me. lol
What an awesome g ma!
When I made rose water last summer, I took the pedals and steeped in hot water like tea and finished w a few drops of essential oil.
Ohh lovely
It's so nice to see how your space has changed since move in. I cannot wait to see the next episode.
That Titanic on the dining table tho! Whoah.
As a relatively new mum I can tell you I too don’t know how anyone has any time for anything. All I do is care for her and then barely keep on top of the most important tasks. I’m hoping it’s easier when they’re bigger???
Also though, the dog is more work than the kid in my experience. Hahaha.
They will be back when the kids are older no doubt :) ❤️
I have never heard of adding butter in to porridge but we usually cook with water, and then add milk and honey and cinnamon when eating
I'm not a rhubarb fan but my grandma loved it and always made rhubarb cakes for my cousin's birthday so it reminds me of her.
Yum!
I hope you don’t get tired of clogging because they are so entertaining and enjoyable! I love to see different cultures and day in the life stuff!
Love that you call it a Deli (daily) walk. Makes it sound so fun!
I just added about five things to my curbside pick up tomorrow from watching you cook your porridge. I love grapes and walnuts with mine. And it definitely keeps you regular!
The joy of Deli enjoying her first arm chair is EVERYTHING haha. Congrats Deli it's lookin fab!
I just love these vlogs! And listening to you talking just reminds me of aus, i miss it so much 😪 ps really loving your home so far, it's looking wonderful
I plan on crocheting my own pillows.
Mmm now I have a craving for rhubarb, yum! So proud of you for all the healthy and wholesome adjustments you've made to your life recently!
Oh yeah! The vet always grabs his back/neck folds to put it into! I don’t think he can feel it
Love the vlogs - please keep them coming!! Bowser is adorable and the house is looking lovely! Excited to see what choices you make to add color to the space. Might have missed it from a previous video, but wondering what you figured out to hide the dishwasher in the dining room
Oh it’s still there! We just moved the dining area to another room. There’s still the old dining table near the dishwasher tho!
@@Delidiary ah, that makes sense! Think the dishwasher is the hardest challenge for that house (everything is looking awesome btw and blown away by your gardening)
I grew up on strawberry rhubarb pie. So delicious. My grandma didn't cook many things but that pie was the best.
It's probably the Aries in you! I personally love Tuesdays... I still feel a little rusty on Mondays, but by Tuesday I'm back in the flow of things 🥰
Love what you've done with the house so far... Thanks for showing us and letting us hang out for a little bit ✨
I also love Rose water! My mom is middle eastern and she taught me to put a drop in lemonade to drink, its really tasty and refreshing!
The dining chairs look like the ones coming with the new werewolf pack!
I love the overall aesthetic of the house, coming along very nicely 👌🏼
How do we do everything with kids? You don't!! Haha. You try your best and make decisions based on the higher priority! Sometimes the dishes don't get done. Sometimes we can't go out to social engagements but I will tell you something: being parents was the best decision for my husband and I. We love watching our babies grow and learn everyday. 💜
I am loving these! You rock for just being you and being relatable, it’s rare and so refreshing!
And you two together are just the cutest! 💕
Again, thank you for helping me through a rough day.
ooh yay am so excited to watch love your vlogs deli and your house is amazing ❤
Deli: *sits in a chair* I feel like an adult
Yaaaay! It's vlog time 😍 I haven't even pressed play yet, but I just got back from moving a loooot of boxes to my new home and I love that I can now relax watching this video 🥰
Being a mom who works full time, has TWO INFANTS and two cats. It’s hard to do it all. You just do what you can 😅
This video makes me happy for both of you, and I love to see your decoration and style. It is so interesting to watch! Hope you both get to enjoy yourself in your new house!
Your home looks awesome! I would love to see you painting some abstract art for your walls. Maybe you both could do a pour painting.
Ooh yes, I would love to do some artwork. Just finding time to do it is hard!
That rhubarb porridge sure sounds great!
ok but bowser is just SO CUTE, i can't get over it! love your vlogs, deli! ❤
A big classic in Québec is rhubarb & starwberry jam. It's INSANELY good!!
