Grief is such a weird thing. Good to see you showcase the gift from your grandpa, those are all small steps to work through the loss. Thank you for the vlog!
I couldn’t look at a picture or any of my dads belongings for almost a whole year after he passed. It’s now 3 years since he’s been gone and I have memories of him all over the house. It hurts but it keeps their spirit alive 💙
So heartwarming to see this vlog! Don’t get me wrong, The Sims was what brought me to you and James channels, but I love the daily life stuff as well! Thank you for sharing this journey with us! ❤️
I’m always awkwardly out of sight when people are doing work in the house and deli’s just there filming the tradie lmaao This is a lovely vlog, the space is really coming together!! And you and James have such a sweet dynamic :’)
I never know what to do. I don't want to distract them and be in the way. But I also don't want to appear as if I'm ignoring them either ha! I usually just end up telling them I'll be on the other side of the house if you need me. lol
So very excited to see the Home coming together. Tears remembering loved ones are completely normal don't ever worry about sharing those moments. How special to have those keepsakes from your Grandparents. 💚💚
Where the water heater used to be, you should make use of that space! You can put shelves in there. Would add so much character! Also I'd love to see you two try to do some mini reno type projects in the home 😜
@@assaultedpeanutt Yeah, no. They live in Australia. No need for them, and we have very very strict laws on what kind you can have and how they're stored
There is something so cool and beautiful about the fact that you guys are now together, share a life and are making a home together. Like you started out on two different points and had your roads cross thanks to a lifesimulating game. Thank you for sharing your everyday with us, your story is my favourite modern day lovestory and I wish you the best.
I just two days said goodbye to my last grandma. Family are so important and no matter how much time passes, one always remembers and physical objects always make me smile with all the good memories. It's important to have them and important to appreciate them ❤️ The furniture is amazing! The house is looking more like a home and a space reflecting you two!
The spot where the new hole in the wall is can be turned into built in shelving!! It’s super common in old homes to use the space between studs to create built in storage. It’s useful and personally I think it looks super good
I *love* these slice of life videos. As someone who's been watching both you and James on YT for years, seeing you both now coming into "adulthood" is so heartwarming!! It reminds me of me and my hubby when we first started living together and raising our kids together. I used to catch him doing things like little repairs or whatever and I'd be like, "aww!! So handsome!!" I just love that for you (and James)!! ❤❤ Also Bowser supervising the tradesperson as he fixed the wall. Well done, Bowser!! 😘🥰 -- Ooh!! And I REALLY LOVE that new shelf with the picture above it!! It looks SO nice and lived in!! Things are really coming along and I'm so proud of and excited for you both!!
Congratulations on your home. And what a palace it will be. Thank you for this insight into your private life. And that emotional feeling is very recognizable when you get something so beautiful from the people you love. Good luck with the rest of the house.
Grief is such a funny thing. And it will hit at the most inopportune times. I lost my dad only two years ago and I will be driving not even thinking of him and then out of nowhere, BAM! I’m a sobbing mess. Don’t be afraid to show emotions. You are human too. It’s a nice reminder to people that you do feel sadness. It touched me to see the human side of the ever smiling Deli. (And I like the ever smiling Deli side too.) So many hugs to you.
First let me just say how GREAT you look Deli!!!! Your glow shows how happy you are. I love this blog and how you include us in your renovation! I love how real you were in this blog and you weren’t scared to showed your true emotion about your grandfather♥️ I’m excited for more blogs!
Thanks for sharing this with us, it's looking really beautiful so far, and definitely would love to see what you continue to add to it. Btw, the shallow cuts under the coffee table top are indeed to stop it warping. Solid wood will "breath" - it continues to expand and contract with the change in moisture in the air and the temperature, so they add these kinds of grooves where you can't see them to ensure it doesn't warp. My dad is a master cabinet maker working with all solid timber here in NZ, so I've picked up a thing or two about furniture from him xD
James and Deli's relationship seems so healthy and supportive and pure. So happy for both. Also, definitely teared up at the notes from her grandpa. Thanks for sharing, Deli.
Oh deli, I can see how much you love your Pa. I’ve been weepy this week over my Granny. She past a few years ago but I can’t seem to shake the grief this week. I have an apron that she used to wear and it still smells like her to this day. When I smell it I’m instantly transported to her arms in her comforting embrace, and I can’t help but cry every time. There’s no love quite like a grand parent and grandchild’s loves for each other. ❤️
You both are just so adorable. I love you guys as a couple. Bowser is freaking adorable. I'm truly sorry about your grandfather. I cried with you at the end but I love you and James and just wish you the best.
The love you have for your grandpa was felt through the screen. How beautiful it is to have someone so meaningful in your life. I cried with you! I love your design choices and it’s amazing seeing this all come together. I’ve watched your for many years and it’s so fun to see you out your years of decor training to use!! 😂🤍 -Mary
It made me sad to see deli cry 😥 losing someone is never easy unfortunately. On a happier note I love these vlogs I literally can't get enough of them. I really hope you guys continue to make more ❤
It’s exciting seeing your own home come together! It’s looking beautiful 😀 the small cut out in the wall would be a cool place to do a little built in bookshelf
I love how wonderfully you and James mesh together.... refurbing my house with my fiance was honestly a nightmare and we had HALF the work done that you seem to be doing. You guys give me all the good feels :) Love to you guys (and to your Pa and Grandy too)
Grandparents are so special. I lost my grandpa a few years ago and we just lost my grandma at the end of January and it has been so hard. I miss them both every single day. I'm so glad you have special items to remember your grandpa by. ❤️ Sending lots of love to you! Also, your house is starting to really come together! I love love love that painting that's above the new shelf. It's beautiful 🥺
My Nana passed last week and seeing the gifts from your Pa and your reaction to them made me cry. It's awesome that you've got pieces of him, so he's still with you. ❤
How special it is to have those books and handwritten notes in your home. ❤️ Thank you for sharing and for the reminder how much the small the things you leave behind will mean to someone one day. Love you Deli and congratulations on the home and the furniture, it looks amazing.
Seeing your tears at the end really hit me. I understand how you feel and it instantly made me cry too... I've lost my mom in 2020 and am still trying to cope with her loss. Thanks for being so open about your grief and making me not feel alone in the pain.
That vlog was so sweet.. I think its so special that you have those books from your granddad with his handwriting on it.. he had such beautiful writing.. God bless him
Aww I love that you are able to display your grandpa's things! My dad passed 3 years ago and I still get very emotional looking at things from him that I have displayed. I love your vlogs and I can't wait to see your guys' house come together even more ❤️
All Deli thank you for being so Raw. I got emotional just seeing you emotional. Your grandpa's still with you. Those are such a sweet and thoughtful gifts. And I would love to see more house renovations or house decorations. So fun
Hi Deli, I am a grandmother and I just have to tell you that I am truly so inspired by you. The apple certainly did not fall far from the tree- I love that you were so loved and nourished by your grandfather!! Grief is soo hard, please be as kind to you in those moments as your grandparents would be, hugz!!!!
Love your home, that shelf is awesome. It is wonderful you had a great relationship with your grandpa. Tears of love are not bad and need to happen time and again, thanks for sharing some memories of your grandpa. Many blessings to you both.
Hi Deli. Thank you for the rawness at the end of the video. My grandfather passed 5 years ago just a couple weeks ago was when he passed and I went to visit his memorial and some things starting coming up from traditions we had with him. And I know how hard it can be because over time you can find yourself sad. And it's good to express those emotions and reminisce on past memories or things theyve given to you. Such a beautiful thing you get to cherish is those memories and those books being a big thing. Sending love your way💜 I love the house!
💕 I'm living for that ocean painting, good pick & the shelf goes perfect with it. So good to see the house coming together. I love seeing the raw you. Your Pa was a great man to give such wonderful gifts. And I always say this: yes, I really enjoy your blogs. They inspire me to be a better version of myself with eating, exercising & decorating. Please keep them coming as your time permits.💕
My grandmother passed in 2019 and my therapist said something that I always think about when I miss her. Grief is love for someone who is no longer there, so that love doesn't know where to go and can bubble up as good memories or sometimes as tears. But when you're feeling grief for someone you lost, you're feeling love. Hugs to you!
Looks fantastic so far Deli and James! Grief can act in weird ways. I lost my grandma nearly 11 years ago, and there’s never a moment or day I don’t stop to remember her. It’s fantastic to see you recognise your granddad in a special way. 💛
I also have some books from my grandpa who passed away, his were old school books and some still have notes he took while reading. It’s so special to be able to read them all this time later. Thank you for this vlog and especially for the vulnerable moment in the end ❤️ We all love you and James and all the content you put out so thank you again!
I absolutely loved watching this. Your vlogs feel like a breath of fresh air. 😌 Even with that touching moment where you cried at the end, it was really heartening and life-affirming. Life has its highs and lows and it's unique blends of pain and joy. A beautiful life has smiles but it also has tears. Thanks for sharing, it's a privilege and pleasure to see you living so robustly and thriving! Wishing you all the best ☀️
Pa lives on in you, Maddy, through your memories, your thoughts, your actions, and the things about you that are so like him. Knowing him shaped you into the person that you are. A part of him will always be there with you and James in your new home. 💙💙
You made me cry too with happy and sad tears, it's normal that we miss the important people in our lifes but that's because we shared lots of moments and experiences with them, and it's great that we have things that make us remember of those moments and people ❤️ they'd be so proud of you ❤️ thanks for this lovely video
Sobbing with you over your Pa’s messages. I lost my grandpa last year and because of lockdowns hadn’t seen him in years. He was an artist and I have a painting he made for me for my 16th birthday with a beautiful message on the back as well as a dribble of watercolours I made when I was 4 that he got framed and titled ‘day in the park with gramps’ that is so special to me. It’s so hard but thank you for showing this. It’s nice not to be alone in grief like this ❤️
Thanks for sharing Deli. I lost my uncle recently and your sweet comments about your grandparents really resonated. I cried with you! Can’t wait to see how your home evolves.
I feel this with the books. My grandfather passed almost 10 months ago and I have a couple of his books, its a nice reminder of him but does make me cry some days as I miss him
First off your home is so cute..it's coming along so great I love it. You and James are real people and it's so nice to see how genuine you both are with each other and your watchers. Never apologize for getting teary eyed. My granddad gave me his Sherlock Holmes stories before he passed and the funny thing was I gave that to him as a gift as a child it's like the book came back to me full circle. Everytime I see it I get teary eyed too and that's ok cause it good memories..not bad. Y'all look so happy and I don't know you all but that makes me happy. Kisses for Bowser..he's such a sweetheart xoxo ❤️
Deli, you are the sweetest soul ever. I loved the books your grandpa gave you, it’s something special that you’ll cherish forever, especially the written notes. He’s always watching you and cheering you on with whatever you do in life!
How lovely, that not only do you have the books from your grandfather as keepsakes, but that you also have such beautiful messages from him too. He wrote such lovely words, they touched me, a random person on the internet, so they must mean so much more to you. Such a lovely gift for you to remember him by. And the house is looking amazing!Well done James, you’ll soon be at handiness level 10! Deli, the picture and the cushion are fabulous!
Aww Deli 🥺🥺 your bound to get emotional, grief is such a hard thing to go through. Sending you big hugs! Im sure they’d be so proud of you 💖 your home is looking beautiful too 💖
What beautiful gifts Deli, it's always hard when you're grieving for the ones that make such a memorable impact in our lives, even if its a familiar sent or past gifts and birthday cards even though years pass it just feels like they should always be there with us and in a way they always will be. House is looking stunning looking forward to seeing more xo
Your new house looks lovely! Moving SUCCCCKKKKSSS, BUT it is nice to move into a nice clean place, and then get to decorate it how you like. I think it's wonderful you have gifts from your Grandfather to display. Grief is a process and it strikes whenever it feels. The important thing is to go THROUGH your grief, which it seems you are. No need to apologize for it either, you are human after all. Just keep being you sweet girl, you'll work it through!
I loved this video Deli! We are (literally as I type this) having laborers demolish walls in our kitchen/living room areas to make a much bigger and cohesive place. I can’t wait until it’s all done and I can get to the point y’all are at in getting furniture and decor! The house is looking lovely and it’s so special to have pieces of your Pa. ❤️ I lost my Papa and have pieces from him around my house as well. It’s wonderful to think all these people before us helped build and shape us into who we are. We owe them so much for that.
I cried when you cried. I lost my last grandmother on my mom's side last month on the 13th. Much love and hugs to you. ❤ Y'alls furniture looks beautiful and James is so sweet to help you so much.
Would love to see more vlogs like this. Also loving the furniture pieces you two picked! The ending of this really hit home for me...I've had my step mom, 2 grandparents, & our dog pass in the last year. I understand the happy/sad tears you were having with looking at those treasured books. 💖 Hugs
Aww Deli, love this vlog! I recently lost my grandmother and seeing you cry made me cry and remember the beautiful things and moments we shared. Its beautiful to see so authentic! Stay beautiful (inside and out) and the house looks AHHHMAZING! 🥰
Yes, please! I love home decorating vlogs. It's always so fun to see what people do and the personal touches they add like the sweet books you put on the shelves.
I’m not crying, but I am…..sad but happy. Thanks for sharing the house updates and showing us the books and his words to you❤️ So sweet and special it’s hard not to tear up and think of my grandparents too. The gifts and mementos they leave behind we will always cherish and your bookshelf is a beautiful place to display your books. Keep the vlogs coming, they are so fun and interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️🤗🤗
Oh my, you tearing up about your Grandpa made me tear up about my Grandpa immediately :( I miss him so much, even just the little things. I don't really have anything physical to remember him by except for photos and one of his old shirts. It's been eight years since he passed and it still feels so strange without him! I hope your new life with James and Bowser in your beautiful new house will make you happy and will help you overcome all the grief, you absolutely deserve all the happiness in the world! Thank you for inspiring so many people around the world and making out day brighter, happier and better!
It's OK to be emotional over our loved ones who have passed. Especially when you are interacting with gifts from them that was so meaningful and special. Big hugs! ❤❤
I love seeing the different ways people tackle household projects. My husband and I both come from pretty handy families so we usually just tackle projects ourselves and enjoy spending the time together. Though I think I need to hire a tradesperson to recaulk our shower as we haven’t had good luck with that in the past
Looking great guys! Beautiful tears for beautiful memories! Yeah sometimes when look back on family and friends who passed its ok to have tears! Always remember life doesnt end here we move on and when our turn to pass we will see all our loved again! xo
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your lives and sharing the special gifts from your grandpa! I lost my Papa in 2015 and I relate to that so much! Much love to you guys!
Deli thank you for being so open and raw with your feelings, it’s what makes you relatable and watchable. Sending virtual hugs from across the pond in the UK. X
Today is the anniversary of the passing of my grandmother, so when you started crying over your grandfather's books I completely lost it, but in kind of a cathartic way. Grief comes in waves for sure. I completely understand. When my grandmother died, I still felt like I was struggling as an adult and a mother of little kids. So much has changed in the years since she's been gone. I wish I could show her, like hey Nanny, don't worry anymore - we're okay, we've made it! I imagine you feel the same from time to time about your new home and your grandpa. We just need to know they're still with us and rooting for us! Your home is coming together so lovely! You and James can be so proud of the work you're putting in. Sending you so much love, Deli! 💚
i lost my grandpa also a couple of years ago... I really feel for you! But it is so nice to have had such a special person in your life and the little reminders and keepsakes are just special. Never apologise for bein emotional when you think of your grandpa
Awweee Deli!! It's definitely special to have those books from the ones you love! I have some books ald pjs and somethings that my mom gave me that I hold close to my heart because she's gone. I love the decoration and how everything is light wood and just so nice and modular almost!
You are such a pure person Maddie, keep doing you! I’m so sorry for your loss, it gets easier, I promise. Cherish the beautiful memories and thoughtful gifts. ❣️
I love watching your space come together. I even got a little teary when you talked about your grandfather. It reminds me of my savta, and how important college was to her. It's really great that you have a place to put those gifts in your new space, so you can always remember his impact on your life and future.
Thank you Deli and James for such a fantastic vlog and insight into how your home and lives together are coming together. It was so honest and hit all the emotions, the clear mutual adoration that you share for each other, the cheeky banter, the affection and your beautiful teamwork. You broke me at the end with your tears, I could really feel how much those books from your Pa meant to you and how the emotion crept up on you. He is so proud of you Deli. Big love and hugs, look forward to the next vlog xxx
Loving the new house, thanks for sharing the Reno's, can't wait to see more. 😁😁 Also keeping memories of loved ones is really special, thanks for sharing that too. 🥰🥰
I love this vlog so much! You look stunning, Deli - with and without makeup. Your house is coming along so nicely, it looks great. Thank you for sharing your gifts from your grandpa, it was lovely to see ❤
The beauty of vlogs on youtube is serving as a timecapsule full of snippets of your life, all the good, the bad, the ups and the downs. I hope you look back on this video someday in the future and smile knowing it will always have a home here. Thanks for the realness maddy, its so awesome watching you thrive
I started watching this and thought how beautiful you looked, loved the middle of your new walls and decorations, I was in tears at the end with you!!!! Thank you (and James) for sharing and allowing us all into your life!!!!
Lovely to see you making your house a home. Seeing you tear up about your grandparents made me think about mine. My grandpa passed away in 2020 and my grandma last september. I miss them ❤️😭

The gifts from your grandpa are so lovely, there’s something so special about books with a note written in the front page, we all have to start doing this again!

Hugs to you Deli! The house is starting to look so good and it warms my heart to see you and James working on it together, just so sweet 💞
Pa lives on in you, Maddy, through your memories, your thoughts, your actions, and the things about you that are so like him. Knowing him shaped you into the person that you are. A part of him will always be there with you and James in your new home. 💙💙
I miss my grandpa too Deli. I almost burst into tears along with you. I’m so excited to see your house turn into a home! Congrats on the new place!
Seeing you two together always makes me smile
Deli: "The shelf will have stuff on it"
James: "No"
I love this! The raw version of you and James! Glad you two are together
I get all my friends and family to write dedications on books for me! It's so special! Every time I clean the shelves I see it and remember them ❤️
I loved this video Deli!
You could always add shelving to that cut out, the old heater cut out. Perfect spot to do it in. Just add a mirror and shelves. Loving the place.
I love the vlogs. I miss my grandparents too. It’s so nice to have things to make you feel close to them.
House is looking great! Grief pops of every now and then..I thought it was so sweet of you to share that moment.
Grief is like that. I’m glad you have that gift to remember your Pa by. That’s beautiful. Also love that the house is coming together for you guys.
I love your house and your books and you and your grandpa! You give me so much inspiration every day! Thank you! You’re wonderful Deli! 🥰
I love these updates on what's going on in your outside of Sims content world. I also get lots of ideas from seeing your decor!
Love that you have those gifts and can display them! I totally understand my friend. Sending big hugs your way!!
i lost my grandpa also a couple of years ago...
Loved your video. I like your new house deli. 👍😁very sorry for your loss🙁
This has such a wonderful, joyful and warm vibe! I love how domestic these vlogs are. Those books made me fuzzy Deli!
Also keeping memories of loved ones is really special, thanks for sharing that too.

Love seeing how your home is coming together. Such beautiful treasures from your Pa & Gran🕊Tears with you and sending love & invisible hugs.
Lovely to see you making your house a home. Seeing you tear up about your grandparents made me think about mine. My grandpa passed away in 2020 and my grandma last september. I miss them ❤️😭
Your home is looking beautiful already! The paintings are very cool and I love your style. Thank you for sharing your grandpa’s books it’s heart warming to see. Grief comes in waves just have to let it flow. ❤️
The gifts from your grandpa are so lovely, there’s something so special about books with a note written in the front page, we all have to start doing this again!
Thanks for sharing the progress you're making on the new home. You two are so cute together. I am so happy for you both. Please don't apologize for missing your Pa. I am glad he gave you lovely, thoughtful gifts with meaningful inscriptions.
