Is there a smaller printer you would recommend? I looked at the old video of when you first started to print the death korps, and the 3d printer you recommend in that video is now out of stock if you could recommend one that will be great if not then oh well
Maybe you could help me trouble shoot something. I had a failed print in my Sonic mighty 8k and it has been making noises at the start of the print on every print after it. Also, the early layers are all bunched up now. Do I need to replace my Z axis motor?
1000 Kriegsman? Oh, so the first attack wave.
Of thirty.
That day.

Literally printing a new company per plate, glorious.
Right? I just imagine having a whole army of Blood Knights/Grave Gaurd from the older VC lists. Last I looked they were like 120 for 5 knights. FIVE! And you could not even make them all knights, it was 4 and 1 champion.
It's very appropriate, since Krieg are effectively mass produced soldiers. Even employing proscribed technology like Vita-Wombs (allegedly).
@@RoseKindred insane to believe back then plastic soldiers were made out of plastic because it was cheap
@@ClemiHW I am assuming the increase is from them shifting it to "finecast" aka, failcast (hey, I learned that term from one of their employees).
Which is even more absurd because it does not cost that much to make 1 unit. I could understand if they redesigned the knights like they did the coach, but at the time they were the same model, just produced differently.
@@RoseKindred In France back in June they increased the price to 6% more, if that's because they're shifting to finecast then that's a huge loss
I think most people are now switching to proxies and just use official merch for tournaments
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Print out a life sized Kreigsman.
I mean it took a lot of glue to assemble 3D-printed BFG9000 (yes I remember hearing that ID Software did in fact make a life sized copy of BFG9000 on a 3d printer), so I bet life sized Kriegsman would take a lot of effort to assemble and probably some steel rods as base.
yeah it would be easier to just make it out of other materials
Next challenge should be printing an entire space marine chapter
Helmets only
Or chaos war band
Next challenge is to make a video without using the word sonic or 8k
why
What about a full space marine legion
In before GW has a panic attack and sends out its team of lawyers.
Don't know about your idea with those little ones, but you could made a tremendously epic diorama, with 1 or 2 titans and hundreds of death soldiers by their feets
Seeing that many miniatures all lined up like that on a print bed kinda reminds me of Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum with the clay soldiers
Be interesting to see a cost breakdown of 3d printing vs paying games workshops hyper inflated prices.
Can't wait for these files to be DMCA'ed by Games Workshop due to your video again!
Grab em while you can so the creator has a bit of cash to tide them over after having their livelyhood destroyed
"For every one of us who falls...TEN MORE WILL TAKE HIS PLACE!"
These are Valor Korps and are IP neutral. The issue with Krieg is they are pretty much exact copies of historical WW1 uniforms. Only the helmet badge is GW IP.
I would be afraid of overloading a plate that size. Just surprising how much can fit, but one shift or wobble... or cat, and so much wasted time/resin. At least the bad prints do make good scatter terrain when cleaned.
Modern printers are strong, pack your plate until you can't see the bottom of your build plate. You will maximize your use of resin
Even the very first 3d printers could print faster than 80% of painters can even paint. These new huge ones for personal use you would easily print way more than you could ever paint.
Brother, I think you just sold me on joining your Patreon. I owe you anyway - your advice this last year has saved me tons. And my Grey Knights thank you for it.
New challenge: Print the full contents and expansions (and terrain!) of the new Epic, better than the box. And paint them. In a week.
My man made a entire army on his own to fight the heretic with the machine that the good emperor made using his bare hands
Did you consider aligning the torso and arms before printing, and printing each model whole? You could have done 10-20 different poses and that might have saved you all the hassle of gluing.
Hey! Is there any reason you prefer Chitubox over Lychee? I find the former really janky and full of odd little glitches. Plus Lychee's new auto-support features seem to work so well (though you do need to give models a manual check at the end).
My current workflow is; manually orient the model, use "magic" auto-supports, then use the "generate supports only on islands" feature (detailed island scan), manually add/alter any supports and then use the magic "Optimize" function. It's yet to cause me any major failures, though I did have an incident with a couple of halberds where I hadn't properly checked the bottoms of the blades.
Worst part of chitubox I'm finding is the camera movement rotating around objects in the scene. It doesn't rotate around what you've got selected and makes traversing it absolute hell...
For combatting the colder temperatures you mentioned, YMMV but I wouldn't recommend upping your exposure times across the board; I just increased the times on my initial burn-in layers (and upped the burn-inlayer count to 10, with 25 transitional layers). Thataway the machine and resin get headed up, but only the rafts are affected. I'd be too scared of affecting the quality of the miniatures if I messed with the print settings that actually affect them.
I also have my printer in its own closed cabinet, that retains heat fairly well.
Not sure if this affects anything all that much, but I also have an FDM printer at the base of the cabinet which I run a short job on first before any resin print, hoping it'll heat the space above a smidge. Perhaps it's just superstition! But I get it to print 10 small bases or something like that.
If you’ve got some 3D modeling skills you could make use of the vertical build volume and stack the miniatures on towers, you could probably print close to 500 or more in 1 print provided that you had enough resin.
i dare to say that is not really worth it considering the resin use..
@@austersimon agreed 👍🏻
I would use it to print giant parts. I can see this as a way to mass produce, so now 3d Printers can make a lot more. Do you notice a quality loss at higher speeds?
very amazing video! =) looking at the Death corps of Krieg or even at the "Kreigsmen" here in the video, i just wonder how much IP really can be in there. I hardly can imagine that a Pickelhaube may be copyrighted. I mean at least not to someone other than Kaiser Wilhelm^^
It's amazing that, whether you go for a bottom-of-the-barrel 3d printer, or a top-of-the-line 8K XL printer, it's still far cheaper than buying the models from GW or Forge. It's just becomes a decision of how much money do you want to save.
That's my patreon sub model over there on the far left. My hat's on crooked. Thanks, from one Sam to another.
Also, recommended challenge: chaos kitbash. Choose two armies and Frankenstein enough models together to make a 500 point army. Adeptus Tau, Death Death Guard of Krieg, etc etc etc. It would be an experiment with creativity and using/printing alterations.
Some slicers let you fuse model parts within the program itself before printing. Doing that could have saved you a good chunk of time gluing the parts together after printing.
Saves time building but opens up a whole new issue with orientation and snapping those thin gun barrels. For space marine models, definitely, for thinner figures better to stay safe and keep seperate
@glitchedprints9128 blend resin and they won't snap, are bendable etc
would it be difficult to make it a snapfit so it would be easier to asamble to the bases or arms?
Oh you're using the Valour Korps Kriegsman! thats so nice i just bought them lets see how they turn out!!
maybe for your next challenge should be an ork gargant to go againts the warlord titan, not only would it be a great test for the printers but they would look amazing together on a shelf.
How did you manage to print bases so nicely? Mine come warped or with weird artefacts in first layers. No other prints have this problem
GW's CEO is throwing punches in the air right now.
Try to come up with a print that uses the entire Z axis to print regular soldiers. You can do this using tiered support layers but its very tricky! You could potentially do 1,000 kriegsmen in a single print.
I think you should print the basis for every Tau horde army! 1830pts of 60 Kroot Carnivores, 30 Kroot Farstalkers, 60 Breachers, 60 Strikers, 30 Pathfinders. 3 Recon Drones, 30 Gun Drones, 12 Support Turrets, and then add Shadowrun and a rando character.
What Kreig models are those? I'm just curious as I want to print those ones as well
You sir are a wild man! I love it!
What an insanity, truly bonkers project!
That’s insane did you end up painting them all ?
Here is a big test for you… in keeping with the Krieg theme. The Gnom medium artillery carriage.
It’s on myminifactory the creator is Nate Feyma. The tractor in the front is the size of Super heavy Baneblade as is the tractor at the back. The gun is massive. The model takes 6 to 8 litres. I am in no way connected to the creators page I just found it and thought it was absolutely brilliant.
Great channel by the way👏🏻
If temperatures are critical for good prints, shouldnt they put a heater in there somewhere? I know very little about resin printing
Next challenge: Imperator class titan....I know of like maybe 2 files that exist but they are pretty easy to find. However a Astraeus Super-heavy Tank may be a nice print.
What file did u use? I’ve Downloaded many great Krieg files, but never found any with that German spike on the helmet. Great video btw
it's the valour korp from The Makers Cult
They're by far the best and most modular Krieg models on the market. Best presupports ever.
Get em while you can because Sam has essentially greenlit exterminatus on these models
Oh so these are those infamous Vitawombs!
Surely there will be an Imperator Titan print oneday. Even if it is just in 8mm scale for Legions Imperialis.
New challenge?
Life-sized dinosaur.
Not the big ones, but a chicken-sized one. I think there are some nice STLs out there that are like that.
The dinosaur could double as a unit for an exodite army.
Yes, yes. Make more, even more, and then a bunch MOAR!!!
New to resin 3D printing, question might sound stupid; but wouldn't this print at a lower quality than a 8K mini due to the pixel density? If it's double the buildplate and prob lcd screen size at the same 8k resolution wouldn't this be more similar to printing in 4K on a mini?
Yes
Madness!
Now print how many Baneblades super tanks on one plate!
Mighty 8k may be cool but still rocking the OG Mars 3 pro USB is what it’s all about
I need to start a youtube channel just for all the free printers you guys get...
What website do you get your files from?
i'm having so much trouble with my printer. sometimes the models arent even there and i have half a completed build plate! frustrating
Alright. Now paint them......lolol. JK man. This is awesome. Ive been looking into upgrading printers to an 8k.
If i had a 3D printer id do something like that
I respect the grind sam
Battle Brother Snitch
Surely, you have meant 1000 WarMänner figurines that you only intend to use algonside your other figurines from ConflictPolearm -40000k game, set in a colorful bright future.
That's epic love some Death korps
Keep up the awesome work sam
The mighty 8k can squeeze 97 kreig of the same files you're using =) I thinned mine down to 90 to keep the numbers square. Printed at 28um layers only took 5 and a half hours too.
Your videos don't half give me inspiration to see just how much I can get on my plate and get printing 😅, my elegoo mars 3 can manage 200(ish) backpacks on 1 plate and only takes 7 hours so I'll be slowly building a full battle company over the course of a week
Hello, I'm new to this, important question, why not assemble the miniature in the 3D program and then print the complete figure? Or is there something I don't know about printing them in parts? I'm obviously talking about small miniatures like space marines.
Greetings from the Dominican Republic
Your next challenge should be a Necron tombworld that your Krieg army can fight (alongside your titans)
How to get a cease and desist from GW speedrun any % 😂
I want to see you print a to scale ship for an army to come out of/be stored in
I am way mental than you I have printed 4500 kriegs :D I love to see you did it. epic video
wtf you mad lad!!!! well done!! LOL
6.5 hours for 1 plate of +-40mm minis ? I dont know your settings but they are very slow, mine will take 3 hours maximum for such plate.
Just curious what slicer your using for this printer
Creo que es chitubox
Me, just scrolling: oh cool 1000 points of kreig isnt bad, I wonder-
Batte Brother Sam: I'm printing 1000 kreig models. A whole company per plate.
me: 0-0 oh...
where'd you get the 3D models?
that build plate is massive
What is the delicious purple liquid in the wash station ?
Wouldn’t this actually have a worse resolution since the screen is far bigger than the mini but both are 8k?
See if you could fit a full hierophant or "xenarid queen" on the plate lol
So now that you can print a company at a time, how much are you charging for a plate?
Well now the Kriegsman are going to need something to fight against... 5000 nids sounds good with a couple o bio titans and things good match vs your titans and Krieg
I need to learn how to layer prints xD, do 5 layers of that. On one print xD
The Mega 8kS is selling for £1500. So I'd just go an buy the actual models and save the money rather than print my own, unless I wanted 2,000 figures, which I don't.
What's the purple stuff you're using?
Here's a challenge for you: try not to get more STL creators into the GW crosshairs.
Nah, it's cool. Most STL creators offer their STLs for free when they're just copies of GW's stuff, so even if GW gets them banned off of Cults or Thingiverse, they lose nothing by just putting their models up on pirate sites, or websites based in countries that don't have strict copyright laws. All GW'll accomplish by going after them is just pissing them off.
Sam's building his own Warhammer World, innit he? Crack on!
With all the new hype for the Legions Imperialis game for GW I’d vote to print an entire army in a bottle and compare it against the new plastic kits
Sooooo this is where you team up with Eric’s Hobby Workshop for an epic collab with this… right? 👀
ok but now you have to paint 1000 minis xD
Do you plan on making a video for Legions Imperialis?
*heavy gasmask breathing*
Print the entire Legions Imperialis starter box set, or a Titan in full?
What kind of lights are those at 7:16?
Still wondrring how many printers you got lying around xD or you have to send them back?
I hope we are going to see you paint the army next...
Ah so you successfully made a small Kriegs army, well done :).
hell yeah!
*Happy Gas Mask Noises*
Ah, the touch of death strikes again
Where can i get the STLs. Sorry if i missed it in the video
Dude at 8:09 is that a layered visual effect or is that super glue vapor.
2 mins 7 seconds in and I needed to stop, I could hear Slaanesh whispering to me, tell me that I should be nothing but jealous of you and Khorne telling it could be mine only if I put one skull at the foot of his throne.
Back down to my basement, I will throw out all of my childrens toys and my wife's stuff, I have no clue what any of it is and or does besides not help me print models. It starts now, for the Emperor!!!!
How do you know it's a high-end printer? It has a hinged door.
This must be the vetay woom technology used by kreig
who gone paint this horde?
XD
... UCV the brick all possible variants from this first entry to the Universal Carrier Vessel line.
I want one of those printers so badly. I think you just sold me on it.
You re going to paint them all?
LEGIONS IMPERIALIS! Good sir
The real challenge is to paint them all!
Ah, a full sized Regiment
Or maybe a Guard Armored Regiment ...tanks tanks everywhere
hell of a future pile of shame you got there bud hahahah
