    This video shows you the steps to install a ZX10R race engine into a Formula 1000 race car. We run ZX10R engines in this F1000 and this engine is a brand new 2021 fresh with dyno only time ready to go.

    Another great vid. Have you ever considered using a toothed belt drive rather than chain ? Possible less drag less heat. Mite be over kill and a pain in the arse to develop, but got me thinking. Another thing was a consideration of a blown deffuser ? Was going to try that many many years ago , but never did. Their are some advantages to it but the exhaust and the new diffuser have to be in sink together as you know. Considering that you have the Motec I think you could develop it. Anyway. Cheers my friend. 👍🇦🇺🥃

      Ah, a long conversation. I like it. Belt…. Humm, a maybe. I have spent a ton of time and money with various chains, tensile strength and size. For example I have used a 520, 525 and such. With the power we produce anything other than a top of the line 530 chain will survive. My point I would worry about a belt. It would lower rotational mass and lower friction.

    I may have missed in the video but is this engine an upgrade to the GDRE 2019 ZX10RR or for different classing?

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  2 года назад

      Hi, sorry for my delay responding. Yes, this is another engine I have. My current engines include a 2017 ZX10RR, 2019 ZX10RR and a 2021 ZX10R which is this one. My 2019 ZX10RR is being refreshed now that is all. The main difference on this 2021 engine is it does not have the special titanium rods that the RR has. Let me know if you have other questions. thanks

    Hey Mark.
    Really enjoy watching all your videos, in particular ones like this where you give a great insight into the technical aspects of the car.
    Being a huge fan of all things two-wheeled, It's very interesting for me to see the incorporation of the ZX10R engine into a race car category and the various modifications required to the engine as you explained in a previous video.
    Keep up the great work and we look forward to more great videos.
    Oh, and thanks for the shout-out...
    Cheers,
    Your Aussie Fans.

    How do you shift the car with a motorcycle engine?

    • @NixonMotorsports

      Great question, I used paddle shifters to do so. Actually, I will have a detailed video coming out in the next 1-2 weeks on paddle shifters you may find informative. Thanks for supporting this channel!

    You can clean the chain with WD40 or similar, those are detergents! Then put on chain grease/lube of preferred kind. RK make the best chains in the world. Why do these cars use chain diffs and not a regular diff from a Mazda Miata or similar?

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  9 месяцев назад

      Can you clean with WD40? I suppose you can. Before I install my RK chains I remove the bulk of grease with turpentine then apply chain wax. From there, I do not use cleaner other than a rag and reapply chain wax. Why do we use a chain diff? Weight savings for sure, these cars are light min weight is 1000 lbs with driver and fluids.

    • @MaciusSzwed
      @MaciusSzwed 9 месяцев назад

      Yes since WD40 is a detergent and not some lube, Ive been using it for years to clean the chain on my motocross bike, Chain diffs are light I know but very expensive and they brake like yours!@@NixonMotorsports

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  9 месяцев назад +1

      Good to know on using WD40. Most chain diffs are rock solid and never require service. You are right I have had one that gave me trouble. Light weight can be a trade off in longevity. Thanks for the note and thoughts!

      @@NixonMotorsports Thanks a lot. What kind of chassis and material is it?0-100kmph and 200kmph time? Max speed achieved? What kind of gear shifting mechanism used? What material brake rotors been used? And the most important one, tyres size combination front and rear.😄

    • @NixonMotorsports
      @NixonMotorsports  Год назад +1

      @@theversatile5015 A bunch of good questions. Chassis is a Stohr space frame (metal) with fiberglass bodywork, carbon crash structures (nose). While my base chassis is Stohr it is highly developed and not much remains Stohr. Top speed depends on track and how trimmed out you are but 160 mph is top end. For me, I normally see up to 145-148 mph for the longer tracks. Not sure what 0-60 MPH time is but I suspect it us less than 3sec. Shifting is pneumatic air paddle shifter. Brakes are steel solid floating rotors with 4 piston calibers front and rear. Tires can be up to 10" wide, I use 7" fronts and 8.2" rears for high speed tracks and 8.2" fronts and 10" rears on others.
