    This is just more information making the DJI Care Refresh program a poor choice. First, it costs 350 at the time of purchase and then 250 when you have to use it. I have seen repair costs online for 200-300 total. Adding shipping of 50-60 dollars would make the total repair around 350 so it would barely cost the initial cost of the program. I do not know if this would be a benefit at all. The cost of most of the parts online are fairly inexpensive if you have the tools and capability to do repairs yourself. Just sounds like another way to increase profits rather than help consumers.

    i just got a mini 3 pro, i bought it from a person its still well into 1 year, as i don't know what is been done to this drone, if its been repaired at home or anything about it so in my point paying 69 usd to get a new one would be the logical steep, but what about the warranty, the main problem is the downward sensor is out, does no work at all, so which way do i go and cost both ways i can tell that the case has been opened so not sure what to do, i was sent a ups label so that im not sure on either i don't want to send it in and then be told its going to be 100s of dollars to fix it

    you can next day amazon it and fix it yourself in an hour as well. Maybe worth it for a total loss, but average cost to fix after a bad crash...25-50 bucks.

    • @JeremyToh

      That is true. If you’re still training FPV flying, don’t train on any body of water where you can’t retrieve your drone. Dji care doesn’t cover flyaway.

      I think if it’s your first FPV drone, and you’re not good with soldering and into DIY stuff, and you live in an area where you can access DJI care. Then Yes. I think it’s worth it. (assuming that there will be a few magnificent crashes in your future like mine) good luck!

      If you think you need more training flying an FPV, or you're going to take more risks with it, having a DJI Care does give you a peace of mind that if you do have a terrible crash, DJI has you covered. For smaller crashes, may I recommend a stick of super glue. It did the trick for me.

    I did not get the refresh care programme for my FPV.. As you have stated, All good until you go to M mode.. I may have done the quick ground manual mode take off..(thats fun) ( Usually have the height set at 100mtrs.. So blast up to 100mtrs and it goes into N mode by default..) This time I blasted off without the goggles on ( I wanted to see how quick it was with my own eyes..) all good BUT I didn't get to the 100mtr mark..So as I watched it drifting, it didn't even come to mind that I was still in M mode until it was too late.. OPPS.. not a bad crash into sand but enough to make the gimbal not work right and main fan under cover now makes a bit of noise.. Sent Drone to DJI (Australian branch) for repairs.. Have yet to here back what my bill will be for fix.. YAY.. Makes me wonder what the new AVATA will do when someone crashes that one.. :)

    • @JeremyToh
      @JeremyToh  2 года назад

      Sorry to hear about your crash, yea M mode is fun, but it quite challenging. Hope the damage bill isn't too big, they will most likely just give you a new replacement. The new Avata will be a lot nimble and can take a lot of damage, can't wait to really hone in my skills on one of those. In terms of speed and performance the DJI FPV will still be more powerful.

    I just got back my DJI FPV from Hungary Repair for Europe. Without DJI Care I paid 63 € for the damaged parts of the broken front arm incl. a set of new props. And i got a brandnew Drone! I was really happy about this best style support.
    I hope it is cheaper and customer friendly to throw out a fresh one than to pay someone to Repair it.

    Hi Jeremy, I watched your video because unluckily I just crashed my fpv drone too :(. So bad that is not even possible to fix it by myself. My question is, as you choose your drone to be repaired you got a brand new drone replacement anyways, that is because you have care refresh or just because dji was so kind and decided to send a new replacement to you? I don’t know if sending mine for repair or order a new one. I’m afraid that a repaired drone won’t be as good as a new one and it will be faulty. Thanks for taking the time to read my comments and hope you can help me and give an idea based on your experience in how sending a drone for repair is. Regards

    • @JeremyToh
      @JeremyToh  3 года назад +1

      So sorry to hear about your crash. I can hear you are very worried and you are weighing up a lot of options. Let’s work out your options shall we? If you don’t know if you should send your drone in, or order a new replacement, I would recommend that you send your drone in for assessment. That way you get a clear answer to that question. If you don’t like the repair quote, you can choose to not go ahead with the repair, and you get your crashed drone back. No harm, no foul. Just a bit of time lost and a $20 shipping cost, but now you know the answer, rather than fluctuating back and forth in a state of indecision. However, if you are happy with the the repair quote, and they repair it, and now you are worried if they don’t give you a replacement drone, like they did for me. I can only offer you my experience dealing them, because I don’t work for DJI. For all the 4 crashes I have logged with them, All were replaced with a new drone. Only one of the crashes had DJI care refresh coverage , and the Repair Bill was more than the cost of paying for Refresh. So I went with paying for refreshing instead of repair. And you can infer from that, that DJi never really repairs, they simply assess the cost of the damage, charge you for the damage and send out a replacement. But those are just my experience. Look DJI may even offer you a discounted replacement if they think their repair quote is too expensive. So I think the first step should be to send it in for an assessment. I hope that makes sense. Good luck on your repairs! 🤞✌️
