This is a stark warning, why we should read the small print. But then how many of us do? These companies know that we very rarely do read them, and they thrive on this. I think what the issue is, is if you have more than one drone assigned to a controller, the last one assigned becomes the default. This means if you want to use the first drone that was assigned, you have to re-assign it, so it becomes the default drone. The controller is probably only able to assign one drone at a time? DJI need to add to the controller software the capability to store more that one assigned CRC to a controller.
omg I feel so bad for you. Definitely something to consider, I'm in the market for a drone and I'm may be swayed by this video. Hope it all gets resolved.
I hade same experience like you. I never removed my drone from my controller. It was gone. They have to a way fine the true for you. I hope you get new drone soon. 😢
I had mine repair by DJI at first time and they don’t charge me even for the parts. I have no insurance.. I don’t know if they are doing that on first repair. My frone just few months old and I crushed it and needed repair and change parts like rotor and blades.
Hello, there. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We found your case number according to the information in the video. We will check and confirm with our teams first. Please let us know if you have any questions.
@@seborfeo We checked your case and confirmed with our teams again. Currently, as we explained in the email, the flyaway replacement service cannot be used if the flyaway aircraft was not bound with the account and remote controller, or if the account or remote controller was unbounded before the flyaway occurred. We apologize for the unpleasant experience during the case. May we know if the aircraft you received works properly now? We will learn from your case and see how to improve the services later.
@DJISupportGlobal Hi, the device works properly, and it's bound to the controller automatically without me doing anything. This is the contradiction: when I claimed my Flyaway replacement, your portal showed that Care Refresh insurance (with 2 Fly Away replacements) was active and Valid. If I had known it was not, I would have bound the controller to my Mini 3 Pro. Frankly, that procedure you are appealing to was so misleading that it disappeared after I pointed this out. Now, all drones are automatically bound to the controller. I don't care about the money, but that is cheating. Or at least I feel I have been cheated. This video will serve those that have splashed their cash on their Care Refresh coverage. They must know that DJI would rather save some bucks than take responsibility for their mistakes. Take care.
You have changed your process now, after realizing that the process you had in place was misleading and wrong. After I lost my drone, I checked the Care Refresh status on your website and I sent a screenshot to the support team. It showed that my insurance was active and valid, with two flyaway replacements. Your website said it was valid, but your support team said it was not. So, I do not understand, and I am very unhappy. Again, that is cheating. For the whole community, my suggestion is to not buy Care Refresh for your drones ever again, at least that is what I’m going to do. If you’re in Europe check out Coverdrone instead. They are very serious and I don’t cheat on people.
@@seborfeo Thanks for this video. I recently got given a Mavic mini, and also decided to insure with Coverdrone. I will NEVER get DJI insurance, and will spread this message to other drone enthusiasts. Replacing your drone costs them nothing, but denying to do so will cause them unmeasurable damage to their reputation.
Jan 21st 2024. IM going through this right now. I wanted to use my integra goggles and motion controller 2 with my mini 3 pro but it only would allow me to do that 5 times. Dji told me to unbind it. Flew it that way for 6 months with no problems. Had a crash last week like you on a mtn top. Crash wasnt my fault , they say i hit something, you can see in the video i didnt. When i went to use my care refresh they say it wasnt bound and wont honor it. Were in the process if going back and forth. I wont give up...yet...
@@seborfeo I did finally get another drone from DJI at no charge. It took 8 days of going back and forth with them before they finally agreed to send me a new one.But in the end they came through!
Thank you for making this video. I just signed up the refresh for my new DJ. I Mini 4 pro peri will have to check if this procedure was done. thanks for your video. I hope you got Your issue resolved.
Glad it helped! I had to buy a replacement drone. They did an awful job with me, pretending that they were right. I have a private coverage plan now, I don't trust them anymore with their care refresh.
That's exactly the same that happened to me ! My mini 3 Pro went into the sea, I sent DJI the flight record and a screenshot of the map that shows the flight route that leads to the sea. "Find my drone" showed the location for days !!! They didn't care. I used my DJI RC controller with TWO of my drones alternatively: mini3 Pro and a Mavic 3. So every time I switched drones I was supposed to do the binding procedure ??? Anyway, DJI refused to give me a new mini 3 Pro, instead theay offered a 15% discount to buy a new one... duh.... Update: I recently bought a Mavic 3 Pro, and ( was stupid enough ) to buy DJI care again. It WAS NOT bound automatically to the RC again ! I discovered it accidentaly during flying !!! So I almost got scammed again....
That really sucks. I just got a drone and am thinking about getting DJI refresh, but also don’t you have to pay almost half the price for a replacement anyway if it’s a flyaway. That’s what I thought I read. Not sure it’s worth it.
I just recently purchased a mini 4 pro and refresh insurance and missed the activation window by an hour. Despite having never flown it, I still need to go through the video verification. The help line was everything but helpful..,
Don’t know why you’re having all this run around. On the 16th Dec I crashed my Mini 3 Pro that resulted in it being totalled. Got a replacement by expedited UPS on the 29th Dec. Not bad considering the holiday period
So you are expecting new for old coverage for a very small sum - interesting! Bureaucracy aside it does seem to say on the DJI site that the insurance for a lost drone is a low cost replacement option. The layers of activation would seem overly biased towards the company but i guess that will be resolved. Always best to read those 13 pages!
I expect to get what I pay for. The Fly Away coverage is part of their Care Refresh insurance, marked as "Valid" in their system. But apparently, it wasn't "Valid," and they should have told me I needed to follow a few extra steps to complete the activation. I bought their Care Refresh coverage for all my drones (many), and this is the first time I have claimed a Fly Away replacement. I don't feel like I'm taking advantage of them.
It would be the equivalent of buying auto insurance and not providing them a VIN for the vehicle then trying to make a claim a week later. They will be like "what vehicle?" 😂
I had the same experience with GoPro. I think all these companies, like sooo many companies in modern times, feel they can scam us with zero repercussions... And they are correct, we all keep buying their stuff. But, what options do we have? Not buy anything? It is a sad state of affairs for sure.
Was about to sign off on a Mavic 3 Pro..Don't think i will bother now, always thought the drone ins was sketchy and confusing for new pilots, obv you are not a newbie and still got stung..Poor show from DJI
Im new to tihs and soon to be the owner of a Mini Pro 3. Will certainly make sure my drone is bound and covered. I think you were treated very unfairly considering you seem to be a loyal DJI user/consumer.
They done me right. It clipped a tree an fell in the river. When I originally purchased it. I only bought the 1 year care refresh. Claimed my flyaway. Soon as they got it on the way an I for a tracking number of it being shipped. The 1 year plan only covers 1 flyaway. So contacted them. Told them I wanted to cancel my care refresh. That way when the replacement gets here. I’ll than have the ability to repurchase the care refresh. Of another 1 or 2 year refresh package. So this go round. Before this one shows up I’ll purchase the 2 year plan. And since I canceled the first one. An the replacement hasn’t been binded to the account yet. I’ll be able to repurchase the insurance. Ofcourse there wasn’t going to be a refund on the first 1 year purchase probably due to I used the fly away on it. But had I not cancelled it. When this replacement gets here. If I started using it. I still would have had coverage from the 1 year plan that was already on my account. But it would have only cover repairs since the 1 flyaway had been used. So I’m refreshing it and starting out on the replacement with a fresh 2 year care refresh plan. But I originally contacted them about the flyaway. It was only in the air for two minutes. A one could clearly see. I screwed that up. I was on the edge of a river. Went to move something that was by me. Finger slipped on the stick a right into a tree an in the water. And the app shows its path. What sticks are being used and if anything blocks the motors ect. And they have gps satellite view of the spot. And definitely wasn’t any fault of the craft. But by the end of the day I reached out. It was processed. A the next day I already had an email of the tracking provided to the replacement. So they decent in my book. Just gotta have ya stuff binded right.
